  1. I've had anxiety for 8 years and OCD for about 4 years. I've experienced some of the things that you have, for example, the feeling that life is just a dream and everything seems fake. That feeling would make uncomfortable and increase anxiety, but then I started Mool Mantar and things slowly started to get better, it took its time but trust me things will get better. I remember the first time I read the translation of Chaupai Sahib and made me feel so much better.

Watch some videos on things like OCD with intrusive thoughts and you will realise your not the only one with these problems. Also make sure you see a Doctor, the quicker you do the quicker your problems will go away.

When you start feeling anxious or worried put some headphones in and listen to simran/kirtan, try these

If you need anyone to talk to feel free to message me, talk to the sangat on here or https://www.reddit.com/r/Sikh/. Or talk to people with similar problems https://www.reddit.com/r/Anxiety/ or https://www.reddit.com/r/OCD/

  2. A group of men believed to be carrying "bladed weapons" are occupying a temple in Leamington Spa, according to police.

Warwickshire Police said about 20 or 30 men entered the Gurdwara Sahib, at about 06:45 BST on Sunday.

Officers are inside the temple on Tachbrook Drive negotiating with the group.

A force spokesman said it was being treated as "an aggravated trespass" from "the escalation of a local dispute" and was not a terror incident.

A police cordon is currently in force around the temple while officers and religious leaders try to end the stand-off.

  3. The following information has now been shared by West Yorkshire Police:

    • West Yorkshire Police have identified and interviewed the person responsible.
    • The person is a white Christian woman whose mother had links to a Granthi in the past.  The Granthi passed away a few years ago and her mother passed away recently.
    • Following the recent death of her mother, her intention was to repatriate Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to the Gurdwara Sahib for proper safekeeping and care.  She attempted to do this and finding the Gurdwara was closed attempted to leave Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji at the Gurdwara gate.
    • The woman claims she had no malicious intention and did not understand the disrespect her actions were causing against Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
    • West Yorkshire Police will not be charging the woman with any crime.
    • West Yorkshire Police are prepared to facilitate a meeting between Panj Singh and the lady concerned.

  4. Sorry a bit off tangent.

I have tried to make eggless sponge cake a number of times, using silken tofu, flaxseed, even ripe bananas but to no avail.

Either cake does not rise, well it never rises, or it is stodgy and heavy. I have eaten eggless cakes that are light and fluffy.

What do we use as replacement for the binding qualities of eggs ?

    How to make it rise?

You could try these the reviews seem good

  5. Thank you to everyone that replied. I hopefully be able to follow your advice.

The above advise it good, and if you want to do paath, do it while you're walking around doing what u have to do in the morning. Sing it or do it in a way that you are able to continue with your life.

Life cannot stop because u have to sit and do paath, that's not what life is about, it's about Truthful Living- not just sitting and meditating all day. Do that, work during the day, excercise in the early eve, 6-7 and meditate(and study if u have to) in the evenings.

During studies, when u lay down to sleep, do a personal ardas, relax your body, and let go.

I try doing that, but the guilt really gets to me if i don't sit down and listen to a bani I did not do, I end up being even more stressed. But i went to the Gurdwara today, and the person briefly talked about the importance of Nitnem, and now i'm unsure what to do.

But then I should be doing my path with love so it starts being sweet to me, but currently i'm finding it really hard.

  6. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Im in my final year of university, and have my exams coming up. I feel like i'm under so much pressure, i sleep like 3am then wake up around 10am, but it takes me a while to do my Japji sahib and listen to the rest of Nitnem, so I spend round about 2 hours in the morning doing path. I have breakfast at like 1pm then.

I finding no peace doing path all i can think about is study. Japji Sahib i just keep stopping in between and takes me about 45 minutes to complete, the same with Rehras Sahib. I currently don't any simran, i find it hard to make the time. When I listen to the rest of my Nitnem, i just feel like im sitting here so I can say I done it. When doing Rehras Sahib ji, i start feeling sleepy and again i feel like nothing went in.

I don't know why, I can never do path properly. One reason could be my health I'm severely underweight know as food keeps getting stuck in oesophagus and i'm waiting to get tests done.

I've been told many times just to do simran, but they guilt of not doing Nitnem gets to me. I don't what bania to do shall i just do a Japji Sahib and simran in the morning for an hour and a bit or shall i continue. Also is it ok if i listen to Rehras sahib, and recite along.

Please forgive me if i said anything wrong. Thanks in advance

  7. Hanji Paji I know, I was going to put it on then but some pages on my fb have started to give wishes from today, so I've started the thread from today, so posts could be added up to and on the 16th. I will probably go to Gurdwara when our local has the Gurpurab.

It comes down to which calendar they are using, but it should be on one day as I agree with you.

I've kind of created it as a timeline of posts relating to Guru Gobind Singh ji, so I will be adding other posts to it.

Actually I should have just stuck to my first decision and not have put today is the birthday, so I've deleted it.

Sorry ji bhul chuk maf Karo . I should stop thinking of others and go with my instinct.

Thank you ji Paji gsingh9 for putting me back to the right place.

    Penji no need to apologise.

Look forward to your post about Guru ji

  8. Dhan Dhan Guru Ji

But a post by sikh2inspire said that Guru ji, gurprub is on the 16th.

In line with the calendar used by our Guru Sahibs, from Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj to Jugo Jug Atal Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj in his pavittar Bani, Sri Bachitar Natak, writes that Their Avtar was on Poh Sudhi Saptami, this dates falls on the 16th of January this year.

  9. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Some posted about a similar issue on a different forum, hopefully it helps you

First do an ardass to guru sahib that you wish to comb the nots out.
Use a good quality shampoo and conditioner and develop ideal hair care practice. Towel dry hair by placing all of the kesh together in towel and squeeze towel to soak up the water try to get the hair to a damp state then use your hands like a comb and GENTLY get any big tangles out. Also you could try spray that you can get which helps to untangle hair.
When your kesh is clear of any heavy tangles just GENTLY run kanga through a few times to loosen up more. When kesh is ready for oil massage use quality hair oil such as mustard oil mixed with coconut oil and work into scalp and hair right through to full length of kesh. Better if your mother can apply the oil to your kesh regardless of how much they value kesh!
Finally comb your kesh carefully again to get all hair smooth, straight and tangle free. Tie dastaar. You could also massage oil into scalp/kesh say night before washing your hair as this also can help.

I would like some advice please
I have been having issues lately especially with work not getting on with my manager she seems to exploit every mistake I make. I’m not perfect if I don’t get on with someone I wear my heart on my sleeve I won’t associate with them which is bad as this is my manager. So she keeps emailing and pointing out my faults I’m getting really stressed I think it’s me the way I act. Other things in my life are not so great ie im putting on weight my Parth I can’t do properly I’m repeating a lot as well thinking im making mistakes.
So I did a Hukam as I try to every morning :
    ਪਉੜੀ ॥ पउड़ी ॥ Pa▫oṛī. Pauree:
Jin anḏar ninḏā ḏusat hai nak vadẖe nak vaḏẖā▫i▫ā. Those who are filled with vicious slander, shall have their noses cut, and be shamed.
    ਮਹਾ ਕਰੂਪ ਦੁਖੀਏ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਲੇ ਮੁਹ ਮਾਇਆ ॥ महा करूप दुखीए सदा काले मुह माइआ ॥ Mahā karūp ḏukẖī▫e saḏā kāle muh mā▫i▫ā. They are totally ugly, and always in pain. Their faces are blackened by Maya.
    ਭਲਕੇ ਉਠਿ ਨਿਤ ਪਰ ਦਰਬੁ ਹਿਰਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਚੁਰਾਇਆ ॥ भलके उठि नित पर दरबु हिरहि हरि नामु चुराइआ ॥ Bẖalke uṯẖ niṯ par ḏarab hirėh har nām cẖurā▫i▫ā. They rise early in the morning, to cheat and steal from others; they hide from the Lord's Name.
    ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਤ ਕਰਹੁ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥ हरि जीउ तिन की संगति मत करहु रखि लेहु हरि राइआ ॥ Har jī▫o ṯin kī sangaṯ maṯ karahu rakẖ leho har rā▫i▫ā. O Dear Lord, let me not even associate with them; save me from them, O my Sovereign Lord King.
    ਨਾਨਕ ਪਇਐ ਕਿਰਤਿ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧੭॥ नानक पइऐ किरति कमावदे मनमुखि दुखु पाइआ ॥१७॥ Nānak pa▫i▫ai kiraṯ kamāvḏe manmukẖ ḏukẖ pā▫i▫ā. ||17|| O Nanak, the self-willed manmukhs act according to their past deeds, producing nothing but pain. ||17||
My interpretation is Waheguru is calling me the manmukh and that basically I slander and because of my past actions its all my fault.
Is that right? Is there any way I can stop this or do I just accept that im the manmukh that I am?

I have the same problem of keep repeating bani, as I worry to much about the pronunciation as well.

Before it was really bad but Guru Ji's kirpa it got much better. I still do it know because it is a habit but hopefully that will stop as well. I know how it feel, sometimes your mind feels fried and I've asked the same question on here before, check the link below the advice I got really helped me.

    http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/77745-pronunciation-of-gurbani-help/#entry641012

The best thing is to do, is break the cycle as soon as you can. Do ardaas and ask for Guru Ji's support, also before you start your path ask forgiveness if you pronounce anything wrong and ask Guru Ji to help you throughout your path.

What I do know is I get my headphones and recite along with the bani. The link above has many links to read along bania.

We need to stop worrying about pronunciation and start doing bania with love, then everything will become better.

Please forgive me if i said anything wrong

  11. I don't see what the difference between raw egg and egg is. It's still egg.

You should buy him this brand that sells vegan chicken and stuff. The brand is called Fry's it's at Holland and barrat and Ocado. They sell other eggs less products recommend them.
