I was talking to a bhainjee I know and she was telling me of this horrible news. I did not know Angad Bhajee personally but from I have heard over the last few days, he seemed to be a great person who was always filled with happiness.

Let us all do ardaas for his family and those who were close to him. Waheguru Kirpaaa Karo. =)

He is gone to a better place.

  3. Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh

I tottaly agree with S1ngh. Most people who believe in the techings of our Guru Sahiban will end up keeping their hair and eventually taking amrit.

However, there are many people who are 'struggling' with this aspect of sikhi. I know many people who were money and when they really decided to get on the maarag(way) of Gursikhi, keeping thier hair or become vegetarian was a huge step. I still called them a sikh because they were trying to become GuruSikh's.

If you are trying to keep your hair or on the way too than yes I do consider you a sikh, you are a devotee. But no matter what a devotee of god or in this case, one who wishes to call themself a sikh would follow the teaching that Guru Ji has provided us with to become one with him.

Keeping your hair IS an aspect of physical appearance of sikhi- to be recognized as guru ji sikhs. However there is also a much deeper understanding to why we keep our hair. Natural beauty is the most sacred beauty, in my eyes. When we keep our natural form as to how Guru Maharaj created us in than we are able to show the world that this is how God made me and however God made his creation, than that is considered of utmost beauty. If God wanted us to have short stylish layered hair, trust me he would have given us that but he hasn't. However it all goes back to being able to be recognized as a sikh.

Before, I start rambling as to why we keep our hair, if you are on the path of Gursikhi and TRYING to keep your hair than Yes I would call you a sikh.

However, one can only call themself a sikh when they complete devote themself to their Guru and follow their teachings.

    Waheguru

Forgive me if I offended you or anyone else on this forum =)

Guru Pyario, Sadh Sangat Jee, there is a youth kirtan being held on May 4th at Gurdwara Sahib Greater Montreal (D.D.O Dollard des Ormeaux).

The youth kirtan of Montreal ask humbly that everyone attend that can. I am sure that there are many drivers in ottawa, toronto, etc. For at least some sangataan to give their darshan.

A poster will be sent out as soon as possible.

There will also be a nagar keertan that weekend.

Further information will be given out when the poster is ready.

Take care and please give your darshan!
