How can naam support you when you turn around and the next thing you know is you got 20 geezers on you. Shouldnt your strength and shaster be your naam then (obviously you should still remember vaheguru as you fight).

Why do we need 80,000 Saroops of Guru Ji when we can not even look after all of the saroops that have been done parkash of properly. There are gurdwara in England that you can come down on any days in the week days and unless there's Sukhmani Sahib Ji da Paath or Akhand Paath Sahib Ji paath going on, Guru Ji is left unattended, not even a single bhai doing chaur sahib. I went to a local gurdwara last week and there was like one bhai doing chaur sahib, paath and degh seva at once, jus by looking at the topic title i woz lyk waaaatt, first give the best respect you can to the saroops with us today and then think about printing some more...

I seriously think an international audit needs to be done by one of these sikh organisations, they should contact every gurdwara in the world and find out how many saroops exist, how many are bhirdh and need replacing and how many genuine new saroops are needed. I would bet we do not need 80,000 new saroops PER YEAR! Even if this audit didnt cover people homes it would reveal some information!

..btw is it just the SGPC allowed to print saroops of Sri Ad Guru Darbar and Sri Dasam Guru Darbar? (obviously Sarbloh Guru Darbar are only printed by Budha Dal) personally i dont (and im sure many others dont) trust the SGPC to do all this...if they can distort Sri Dasam Guru Darbar then i fear they...

As far as i know the creation story for sikhi is that Maharaj was meditating before the beginning of time and then in an instant he created the world - in the form of the big bang. He added maya to the world and allowed evolution of humankind over the years and we are where we are today. I also do not believe in the story of genesis however, God gave christians that story to believe in and we have ours :T:

This sounds a little far-fetched and abstract. It's simply putting "God" in the place where we "lack knowledge." Just because we do not know an answer, does not mean God created it.

And if God created evolution and millions of years later humans were born, we have no need to meditiate/think/pray/connect with God.

I feel like Sikhi really doesn't try to answer this question. GGS is a book of life, not a history book.

What a coincidence that I was just watching Sant Gyani Sant Singh Ji Maskeen's Katha a minuite ago, anyways, the point was that Dhan Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Mahraj say's all form comes from that of no form, all knowlege comes from that where there is no knowledge or infinatly beyond knowledge. No matter how much knowledge and science we research into and try to back what we see around us with...there will never be an end to it...simply because what every form or knowledge comes from itself is way beyond form and knowlege...

Very shocking pictures but why don't you also show some pictures of Israeli civilians blown up by Palestinian terrorists? but its abit obvious from both Isreali-Violence and Palestinian-Violence pics that the Isreali's deff. have alot more modern guns, tanks and missile technology than the Palestinian Arabs who are generally carrying Kalashnikovs (Ak's and Rpk's) and Rocket Proppeled Grandes although they have an Airforce and plenty of Anti-Armour missile's.

However there woz a program on discovery (weapons of war) where there where testing the US multiple explosion missiles, one of the new kind on some wooden dummies and a bunker in the middle of the nevada desert, and when they where showing the little mini missiles firing out of the main missile - it was clear that they where not blowing the dummies up all at once as you would expect from a movie etc..., when they went to check (the aftermath of the explosion) the wooden dummies where all standing but with big holes in them (so the dummies had half there faces missing, there arms, legs etc...) from the mini missiles, so some of the websites claims could be true...judging by the way the missiles fired, I wouldn't want to be standing in range of the missiles...although you would probably die of the shock of the explosion before the things actually hit you.

This is what the countries we live in support...is there or would there ever be a goverment that will not discriminate or elimate people because they want freedom or justice which they dont get in the country they're living in, just for abit of land, difference in race, religion or belief, goverments have to take things to such a level. Then they (the goverements that take part) demoralize the people in there own country into believing that the matter isn't serious, and all of it is being done for the good of the country as the opposition are alwayz terrorists - the goverment (due to their control of the media) are alwayz the good guys...

Anand Murti Guruma was born on April 8, 1966, in Amritsar. She is the second of four siblings — one son and three daughters — of an affluent family which migrated from Gujranwala on Partition and set up a lucrative transport business. Her original name was Gurpreet Kaur Grover. She went to a convent and then to Government College for Women, from where she took a degree in arts. Right from the age of 15, she was more interested in religion than in other subjects. She attended discourses given by different religious teachers till she met Sant Delawar Singh, who gave her diksha and her new name, Anand Murti Guruma.

Guruma has her ashram in Sonepat (Haryana) but travels all over the country, giving discourses to large audiences. Her following is estimated to number nearly a million, comprising people of all religions and races. Amongst the most ardent of her followers is Seema Verma, an artist. She has put together some of Guruma’s short verses in English in a booklet form, 108 Rays of Light from Anand Murti Guruma. Being an agnostic, there are times, I feel I have missed out on something precious.

Amritsar: Jatehdar Akal Takht (highest Sikh Temporal Seat) Gyani Joginder Singh Vedanti Friday served notice to weekly magazine 'Outlook' for publishing the cartoon of the former chief of Dam Dami Taksal (religious Sikh outfit) Jarnail Singh Bhdinranwala.

It may be mentioned here that Jarnail Singh Bhindreanwala was the chief of Dam Dami Taksal who was killed during 1984 when Indian army attacked at Golden Temple in order to flush out the hiding militants. Bhindrenwala was the militant leader when killed in the army action.

In a release issued here today by Akal Takht expressed deep concern and issued notice to 'Outlook' to tender apology for publishing the cartoon of Bhindrenwala and Satwant Singh and Beant Singh who were the killers of former Indian prime minister Indra Gandhi.

Outlook magazine was asked to tender apology publicly till August 25, 2007 otherwise warned them to face the consequences, release added.

Somehow, i dont quite like the way Joginder Singh Vedanti say's that though...everytime he is told to express his views in the behalf of Akaal Takth, it seems as if he always has a pro-goverment stance on the issue although he makes it sound like he's pro-sikh...or it might just be me...
