    SSA ....

Dont judge a person on the basis of one action or mistake...especially if u are on the path of Sikhi...

He may have made a mistake but made an open apology for it on National news.....and why he did that mistake ignoring the core sikhi values is debatable!!!

May be he wasnt given the right guidance and direction at the right time / may be he is just born in a sikh family but hasnt had a chance to expereince the bliss in Sikhism / may be he knew everything but still chose to ignore the values coming under social and media pressure .

n if there is any of the case ....how is he different frm U n ME . Dont we at some point get distracted and make mistake which is nt prescribed in Sikhi .

Atleast he wants the world to know that he is Singh and faught bravely in alien crowds .....any normal person would have succummed to so much pressure....but his performance improved. And now everyone is prasing him.

If there is a reason to celebrate or cherish someone ..please do that ...coz tomm u might be in a tight spot.

There are enugh reasons in the world to feel divided ...but still lets choose to remain one.

  3. I had watched this movie long time ago along with a Documentary 'In search of GOD'.....it has sent me on to path of confusion abt GOD....so many people with so many faiths in search of something which is above the level of their understanding .......a higher consciousness.

Im going to beaten down after saying this....but after seeing that docu...i dont feel any difference in any faith including Sikhism....coz every faith is in search or preaches abt the same eternal being and device their own protocols for realizing GOD and eventualy forget the destination but fight over the methods used to achieve salvation.

  4. SSA to one and All...

Understanding GOD and his hukam as in this thread is one of the most complex equation MAN has encountered for a long time and it going to remain like this till the end of time.

But I certainly beleive GOD has given MAN the choice to choose betn EVIL or GOOD ....if there would be no Choice.. MANKIND will nt progress and remain stagnant with no technology advancement ... It the power of reasoning that GOD gave us that has given the power to man for devlopment ....why is morning bright and night dark eventually explained the whole solar system and now much beyond that. It is a vague and rough examle but send my idea I hope.

If everything is decided than U wudnt want to transform ur self from a TV watchn Junkie to Gurbani obsessed Gurmukh. It is only because of the choice that we made to understand this life that led to effort towards reading forums like this .

I'm nothing and negligble for understanding the vastness of the Almighty ....but as I said being a Human it is Imperative that I reason out .

  5. Yes I do like to Listen to a lot a stufff.

Sufi Music is my current obsession and believe me listening to Sufi is Soul refreshing ....I quite never have got the same feeling before.....I have a few songs written by Bulle Shah sung by Wadali Maestros and Nusrat Ji...and I can listen to them for Hours

I also Listen a lot of Old Indian Classical Music like Lata Ji and Kishore Kumar n stuff.

I tried to listen to a lotta Rap ...but just found a lotta gangster shi** gettin repeated in every second song...be it 50 cent or Notorious BIG....I agree some of them are good but all sound same after I have i heard one of their songs. Also Since rapping does nt follow any musical notes but is mostly is very beat oriented hence it is likely that the song does nt grow over you and doesnt catch ur tongue.

If anyone listens to good rap ....please suggest some ggod rap artiste as it is all abt power packed Lyrics . Also any particular favories for anyone???/

Soft and Classical Rocks are another major genre in my music player.

I cant thank the u NRI dudes for the Bhangra that was never heard before ...i just go crazy listenin to some of ur tunes. Although now most of the songs sound terribly repetetive...but some are classics.....Ne Baliyeh and Panj Bindhiya top the list.

O mortal, you came here to earn a profit.

    http://sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=126

That answers all my questions. We are here to earn a profit. LOL!

I've never seen anyone so openly and blatantly make a mockery out of gurbani before like you have done. That's disgusting.

Instead of giving a tangent direction to the original post ...can someone please gimme the implied meaning of the Gurbani line ...ie " You came here to earn a profit"

By Profits does Guru Ji refer to the material profits or the profit of Conscious realization of GOD.

And also im sure Gurbani touches this concept of purpose of life in a deeper sense

  7. My dad once told me that when a child is born, he is closer to God without trying than it will ever be.

Now, this made me think, why do religions in general, and even Sikhi :-( scare us about what happens to us after death, and yet neglect to tell us what happens before we are born. Where is the soul whilst the baby is in the mother's womb, for example?

This leads onto a wider debate about religions frightening us into submission, but please do not post about that as that is not what I am getting at in this thread. Thanks. :-)

    http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=184

Tell me one thing, Do you remember how it was like in your mothers womb?

Bani tells us that the mothers womb is like a pit of fire.. like hell, and that even there he looked after us. and thats where our knowledge needs to stop. Why? Because if it wasn't for our desires and our greed, we wouldnt be born in the first place.

The fact that we are born, and we are lost... is why we need bani or any other religion to guide us, enlighten us on issues which we are unaware about because we are so engrossed in maya and so that we can rectify ourselves.

The reason the child is closest to parmatama in the womb is because they are untouched by maya and can concentrate on bhagti. This explains why a child begins to cry as soon as they leave the womb and enter the world, they are lured by maya, they cry in pain of separation from parmatama. But as the child grows older, they are more and more attracted to maya slowly forgetting why they came here in the first place, by the time they realise its too late as all we're left with is old age. The shabad above explains all.

We dont need to know about our past lifes... we're already born! Now just work on fixing it.

    Very weel put ....

Im going thru, not a very busy phase in my life and some very strange question roll up my sleeve....Im struggling to find the purpose of Life and why at the very first place GOD send us here.

  8. No matter how much I convince myself......Sometimes the posts amuse me to the extent of rollin on the floor for days.

Like whn i read the topic "IS DOWNLOADING ANTI GURMAT".

Man I dont think GOD wud grade us C in the report cards because we dloaded MS Windows which we could have bought from a 50-100 billion company .

On a very serious note I think ...it is every individuals self consciouness that directs and intimates u whether a particular deed is gud or bad. Whethjer u do it dload frm the internet or do somethin socially unacceptable.

I think the more we meditate the more clear our answers will be and we shall not be bothered by such questions crushing our consciousness with varius guilts

  9. ohh lets go n burn effigy of hanuman now rolleyes.gif

Why Do you have all the ideas of the world to propagate violence. Do u think burning a Hanuman effigy is part of self defence as taught by the guru ji.

Will you be able to justify ur action with guru's teaching .

Did u ever hear of a sakhi where Guru Ji attacked any mosque, no matter what moghuls did to the sikhs.

    n u talk of Sikhi .....

  10. I would say that you are understanding the term 'moh' in very limited way.

When guruji says detachment from 'moh' he basicly mean nything n everything which is worldly and is nt going to last till eternity (in ur case the Football club will have very less chanes for lasting <_< ) .

Guruji has said that nothing accept the true eternal being is worthy of ur addiction that includes ur wealth , house, cars and nt even ur soulmate.

I know after this there could be a feelin of guilt that you are addicted to somethin which the guruji doesnt advice and the truth is that all of us are addicted to somethin or the other , as we are humans full of imperfections and we can strive to be ideal .

  11. It was a singing competetion and not a display of the religeous values. Though I admire the young boys determination and courage to nt compromise on his true core values ...but it the end we are deleting the purpose of the contest i.e to bring out good singers.

Because he keeps his religon intact should not lead to some one else's hard work in vain and especianlly in something in as pure as music.

But none the less the boy is very very young and can now take a serious learning curve towards better singing.....then he will be the voice of Punjab /Sinhs in true sense.

He definately has to prove his mettle.

    Best of luck to him.

  13. How many times has the same topic been discussed before and again we see the same lame replies.....

they media are nt going to stop it....

NO Shiv Sena/RSS /Islamic Groups involved for any consipracy agaisnt sikhs in the movie.

The Indian Media is just cashing in on the "Punjabi Munde Rokkin the Floor " image of the nex gen punjabi /Sikh youth.

There is nothin to feel hurt......... the reality is exactly the same in Punjab....with clean shaven or stubble bearing sikhs.

    Singho dont worry.
