  3. Please see Sikhism101.com

What is the Sikh attitude to homosexuality?

Although Sikhism does not find homosexual behaviour acceptable, Sikhism does not "hate" or believe that homosexuals are damned to hell as propagated by some religions. As Sikhs we are taught to have principles (asools). A Sikh does not accept any lifestyle other than the Guru's Way but also prays everyday for "Sarbat da bhalla" (the prosperity of all humanity). Gurbani tells us that God is without hatred and animosity. We are all the children of God. The Gurdwara is open for all no matter who they are or what they've done. God loves us all regardless of our thoughts or actions.

  4. We would ask everyone to please take out time to try and attend end of month kirtan. Sevadaar hope to get kirtan recordings up very soon and also announce a couple off new projects one of which may effect end of month kirtan in the near future. Watch this space!

  5. Waheguroo Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguroo Ji Ki Fateh

Sweet Sikhi was yesterday involved in a meeting with Metropolitan Police and we raised your issues. The representatives said they would ask for the relevant force patrolling to be made aware regarding Kirpan. Please get in touch with us as we would now like to forward the email to the police and ask them to liaise with Wembley as they are also aware and have dealt with the Wembely Arena fiasco last year.

Please contact Sweet Sikhi ASAP and we can get in touch with Metropolitan Police regarding this case.

  6. Message from Manvir Singh (for some reason his account doesn't work):

    Vaheguru Jee Ka Khalsa,

    Vaheguru Jee Kee Fateh.

If anyone is interested in buying a Vaaja please email me - manvir.khalsa@gmail.com.

The Vaaja is fairly new - bought it in beginning of September 2007. It is in good condition and is very good Vaaja for Kirtani!

Reason for selling - I bought the Vaaja because my old one got too old. However, the new one (although good) didn't have the musical scale I was looking for to match high notes with my voice.

Hopefully I will be getting a new Vaaja on the weekend.

    Thanks :s

    Daas,

    Manvir Singh

  8. Waheguru Jee Ka Khalsa,

    Waheguru Jee Kee Fateh.

Does anyone know where to find a film/movie/video about the Elder Sahibzaadey and Saka Chamkaur on the Internet?

If anyone has a link or know where to download from that would be great.

"Gupt Fauj" Production made a film called "Saka Chamkaur" - Does anyone know where to download a high quality version of that?

    Thank you :)

  9. There is one change to parking - Due to the massive response from sangat the larger Thames Valley University car park has been made available for both days. So parking on BOTH Saturday and Sunday is at the TVU campus on Kings Road. I have included a map link below, the red circle represents the car park entrance. The Gurdwara is on Cumberland Road, directly opposite Norwood Road.

  10. Ideally it good if campers can attend all day. However, if someone cannot make it on time and late for any reason then it is fine. You are welcome to come along and join in. Sevadaars will be around to help you :)

    Map of where Gurdwara is:

    http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=RG1+3LB&am...loc=A&hl=en

It's Singh Sabha Gurdwara - it is a converted church building in a residential street.

Direction if coming from Train station:

    1. Walk to Reading Town Centre, Reading Station

    2. Take Reading Buses/63 towards Reading Town Centre, Reading Station

    3. Get off bus at Cemetery Junction (which should take about 7 minutes from Town Centre).

    4. Walk to Gurdwara - 30a Cumberland Road
