The Charity Car Wash event that took place on Sunday the 19th Of March was a great success. In total £320 was raised by charitable donations including money raised from washing cars. The Gurdwara Sahib (Sikh Temple) in Leeds donated £101 together with a further £219 raised from the hard work of washing nearly 40 cars with some sangat donating more than the £2.50 price originally set per car.
The queue had already started to grow when the car wash started at approximately 10.30 am and shortly afterwards students from as far as Manchester made the journey to Leeds to take part. The car wash continued non stop until 3pm with local youth and students from Leeds and Manchester all washing cars franticly.
The funds raised from the charity car wash will go equally to the following locations 50/50 each (£160 / £160).
