What an arrogant fool! Guru Maharaj Ji did  defeat the Mughals. He could predict and foresee the future. He had the best weapons which the Khalsa used against the Mughals.Have you read the Zafarnama? Guru Maharaj ji rebukes Auranga for lying and taking false oaths on the Koran. He knew the mooslu was a liar. The great and wonderful Guru also knew about the evil Afghans and the evil British that was the reason he advocated his Khalsa to always be tiyaar barr tiyaar!  Our Guru was all knowing I don’t think he would’ve needed help from some midget minded individuals to plan great battles or warfare, He is Dhann Dhann Guru humaarey, show some respect to the Great Guru!

i would like to time travel back to 1947 and force the idiots responsible for India’s independence to create a separate homeland for the Sikhs!

First , stop throwing a tantrum you wild <banned word filter activated> . This is a fictional discussion with no reality whatsoever , if you're so butthurt , then don't comment. He didn't defeat the mughals , they were still very strong when they captured and killed  Banda . They were still around for another 60 yrs . He also didn't have the best weapons , no sword or kirpan can out duel a Ak 47 or M17 or a Sniper Rifle. He wrote the Zafarnama after he was betrayed by Auranzebed , I would clearly tell him about this betrayal before it happened. Since I'm from the future and already know of the past events , I could clearly make a great battle plan without much thought , knowing all the past's detail . How about you show respect to fellow posters , you're not above anyone .

  2. You have a time machine and the intelligence of 2018 , anything you do in the past won't effect your birth  , you can only go to the past once and only 1 time period like 1720 or 1840 . You can stay in the past for 1 month . You can interact with the historical persons but you can't hurt or harm them , but you can sway their opinions if you know how manipulation works. You also won't die the past , no weapons or words can hurt you . So the question is , which time period will you go to , how would you change or shape huge events that happened , will you use the present knowledge to help you "tribe" win wars and battles . How will you change the coarse of history .

    What I'd do.

    1. Go back precisely 3 months before Guru Gobind Singh was assassinated, warn him of the assassination and provide him with plans to defeat the mughals.

    2. I would give him blue prints to build modern guns / weapons . Infact I would bring a few sniper rifles / Aks' in the past with me to show them how to attach and deattach weapons.

    3. I would show him lies of Aurangzabed and the plans of his treacherous house keeper gangu .

    4. I would spend the whole month making armor and filling weapons for the Sikh Soldiers and provide them with tactical gear.

    5. I would also adivse Guru of the other enemies beside the mughals like Afgans and brits .

Obviously as time goes on , Sikh Empire would effectively take over the sub continent and further beyond.

What does something that happened 30 years ago that the people of Punjab have already forgotten and are instead too indulged in their menial riches and showoff have to do with the economy?

The economy of Punjab is falling because our people are, and I have said it many times on here, not interested in any worthwhile pursuits. Farming? Nah we'll let that migrants do that. Education? Nah, we're going to Canada. Business? Nah, that's what Banias do. The only constant thing they pursuit is selling off their lands for materialistic interests. There are no businesses being started and grown in Punjab by Punjabis themselves. No initiatives set up by the gov't to have foreign investment. Even Canada, the beloved country of our people, did not invest into Punjab in their last trip to India. The gov't of Punjab simply could not secure investment that Haryana, Gujarat, Bangalore managed to do.

But then again what do I know? I'm the one lacking in common sense right, so please educate me.

Fact is 84 had huge ripples in the economy . Hell , young men in Panjab were getting picked up and killed at random all throughout the 90's , have you forgotten KPS Gill and his cronies ? The male population is Panjab was affected greatly and then the government started spreading drugs in the state , tell me why Haryana and Himachal don't have a serious drug problem ? Yes, Panjab today is mostly developed as I was surprised to see when I went back this January but there have been huge problems the directly affected the growth.

You're in denial. Haryana is doing far better economically than Punjab. It is far more developed too. The politicians of Haryana are far less corrupt than Punjab and are actually working to better the lives of their people.

Here, look at the GDP of Indian states, Haryana is richer than Punjab:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Indian_states_and_union_territories_by_GDP

It's only doing better because Panjab went through 84 . You lack common sense

  5. That could've been dealt with after the defeat of the mughals and the formation of Sikh Empire . Think of this , if the Sikhs had set up an empire during the time of Banda , it would've never had leaders to fell into the clutches of the dogras , and on top of that , it would've been around for 150 yrs  before the Brits started the war , infact , I doubt the brits would've ever started a war , since Sikhs would'n't have had weak leaders after Maharaja Ranjit . But , I diving into a whole :" fantasy , what if scenarios " which are completely pointless.

  6. This is about the battle between Baba Banda Singh Bahadur and Mughals, when Banda captured many territories in Panjab , mughals put their full effort on getting him. Now Baba Banda and many soldiers were held up in a fort that was surrounded by mughals , and it turned out many Sikh sects had abandoned him because they didn't care for his leadership over khalsa and also that one of Guru's Gobind's wife was staunchly against him , which led to a division in Sikhs . Now this only gave an edge to the Mughals. Banda and his men were captured , all gained territory was lost, this led a period of darkness where Sikhs were fractured and mini halocausts were happening every other yr . Had Baba Banda received cavalry and escaped for another day, he could've united the Sikh raj well before Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
