  1. Dont mean to be offensive But the poster could have been designed better as in the past the atamras posters looked really good?! Its not a criticism but a suggestion
  2. well you didnt actually make that clear in your original post!!! the organisers of Chardi kala prog are charging for the cds due to the cost of the prog, the kirtani wouldnt be bothered because they have made loads of money from stage and have had their tickets and costs covered from them the organisers would probably have 2 cover their costs from somewhere, so selling the cds is not a bad way of doing it! i cant see anything wrong in it
  3. Well probably because bh niranjan singh does not not have a jatha and just comes by himself therefore is cheaper than jathas and how do you know he doesnt have these costs?
  4. I totally agree! Furthermore its interesting that only 154 ppl have read this topic so far! Is it because they would rather read a topic about juicy gossip rather than read something that may open their eyes! I wonder??!!!
  5. wah wah big it up to Kirtan Seva Uk, abs amazing seva!! keep it up!! I was at the chardi kala jatha progs they were abs amazing and now atamras i cant wait!! I met Charanpreet Singh from kirtan seva, really nice guy! may guru ji give him more seva!
  6. Guru Pyario I am so happy with the responses!!!!!! to my original post!!!! I did this on purpose and forgive me for this!!! I did this to prove a point! i have been reading the posts on this forum for a few years now and always when it comes to events, you get some <banned word filter activated> trying to put a negative spin on the the efforts of those doing all the hard work! in this topic, yes i am the <banned word filter activated>! but i did that to show that how easy someone can put a negative on someone trying to do good! I recently read the posts on the chardi kala jatha tour and how a stupid <banned word filter activated> who does not know any facts just easily posted propaganda to devalue the program and its hard work my thinking is more programs the better and for the record like penji above has said the sangat do not need to know where the money is being spent, as the end result is visible!!!!! please forgive me for my foolishness
  7. another question is, there is alot of requests for donations, anyone can understand that this program is going to be expensive, but as the sangat has been requested to donate, should we not also have a break down of where the money is being spent, that way people will be more willing to help than just saying on their website that it is costing alot of money if they can be clear with how much money has come in surely they can be clear in where the money is going?
  8. captain q i wouldnt get your hopes up!! I have heard that baba ji is not coming to this prog and its a ploy by the organisers of this prog to bring in more sangat! But i could be wrong!!!! App its costing about £80,000 - seems a bit of a waste of sangats money for one day! wouldnt that money be better spent on camps for kids, other prachaar even helping the poor
  9. the chardi kala jatha are performing here arent they????
  10. Guru Fateh Ji I think the youth and me included!!! would have to agree that one of the best programs arranged for this year is the Chardi kala jatha! True inspirational sikhs doing kirtan and vichaar and to have been blessed to do kirtan at Sri Darbar Sahib is truely special!! How many people are going 2 see them?? They are in UK 8th-17th Aug!!
  11. wicked!!!!! i cant wait!!! i saw their video on youtube amazing!!!!!
  12. we shouldnt be even talking about clashes, every gurdwara has programmes going on and its actually the gurupurab on the day, so of course there should be programmes going on every where. i agree with rinku at least this event is in a Gurdwara, Nishkam sevak jatha dont even let ragis in or other jathabandis inside their gurdwara to do kirtan. i never even hrd of a kirtani going to soho road. it seems like nishkham think other kirtanis are not good enough to do kirtan in the gurdwara I went to a wedding recently at soho rd and the speaker there was going on about how the jatha behaves and we should be showing the outsiders how the jatha behave, making it sound if u belong to the jatha u r normal and if ur not then u r outsiders i wasnt impressed in conclusion there is always going to be a clash, when u go 2 gurdwara on a sunday that programme clashes with anothers gurdwaras sunday prog ---------maybe there should only be one gurdwara and one jathabandi and that is Gursikh and then no need for sanja smaagams you should get away from this type of thinking instead of trying to cause problems try being united, be happy that people want to celebrate the gurupurab instead of trying to make it sound like a bad thing and talking about clashes
  13. HAPPY BIRTHDAY VEER JI MAY GURU JI BLESS YOU WITH A LONG AND HAPPY LIFE AND BLESS YOU TO CONTINUE WITH THIS AMAZING SEVA, AND ONLY 22 WOW!!!!! :TH:

  17. Fateh Ji does anyone know what events are being planned this year to mark the 400th shaeedi of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, more specific to events in the UK? thanks
  18. U guys really need 2 lighten up and get away from this fundamental thinking. anyone that can get closer to guru ji, let it be through raag/light kirtan/katha/kavi/taarnas etc is doing something good! u people really got to stop thinking backward. As long as they do not disrespect Guru Jis teaching, at the end of the day the only thing, that is different is the style. u seem to be quick at pointing out bad things in people u shud also look at the good that they are doing. and for your information sahib singh Bhai Harjinder Singh has an extensive knowledge of raags, he learnt from the missionary college in amritsar, just because not every shabd he sings is in raag does not mean he is a pakandi kirtani. it seems u need to get ur facts right before u speak, look into what ur saying before saying it and furthermore it seems that instead of trying to unite people together ur trying to just cause trouble
  19. Our society has seemed 2 gone backwards instead of supporting people we seem to be more inclined in bring them down. as i am from the UK this relates to situations here and i want to address them with the sangat. many of these situations certain people will have been through or will have heard about these situations occuring. First of all topic of seva. anyone who is young and below the age of 30 who seems to want to take a keen role in gurdwara duties, such as be in the commitee and make a difference or arrange events etc. dont seem to last long, or dont even get the chance. As the older generation dont seem to want young people doing anything. instead get jealous and find ways of demoralising them so that they leave. Majority of Gurdwara committees are happy enough to take sangats money to put in a bank, however when you approach them to spend the money on kirtan darbars, camps, etc they say we havent got no money where as in reality they probably have half a million in the bank. you will always find that they have money going into building projects etc, but again no money is likely to be spent on the sangat. The gurdwaras have become that greedy that they even take money of the stage from ragis. As far as i am aware the uk is the only place where this happens. It seems that gurdwara parbandaks have no respect for religious leaders let it be ragis, katha vachaks or sants. They are all keen on making new gurdwaras, and you may have noticed if one party falls out with the other, 6 months later what do you see another gurdwara in the city!! Those in the limelight become centre of attention when they are doing something good they will get huge support, however as soon as they do the slightest thing wrong they become public enemy and all the good things they have done then meaning nothing, perfect eg baba ranjit singh. you will find many people who will be willing to take a piece of the action but when it comes to putting your hands in and helping, the majority stands back. you will also find people will be quick to start fights and many people will join in. however you will find less people who want to do something for the community and even less people to support them It has become a sad state of affairs. If we are to progress we are to stand united and support eachother. to me it seems that only indian people have a real jealousy problem and cant stand to see others succeeding, people need to come out this way of thinking and support the younger generation who will be leading Sikhi forward. Forgive me for my mistakes
