wgjkkwgjkf I am a very foolish person who is asking this question plz forgive me but I really need to know why is golden temple, Sachkhand harmandir shaib washed with milk, I hope you wise people can help me get an really answer , most people say is it pure, but isn't that an hindu thing, also aothers say its organic but why milk shouldn't they uses the best organic  solutions to learn shiri Darbar shaib.

As far as I'm concerned, I feel the cultural aspect is from the belief that the milk is pure....which can probably related to the fact that the animal that milk is derived from is considered holy in India. but isn't Sikhi against Pakhandi Indian conditions

I'm in no way Hindu-phobic, but there is absolutely no sense in washing in milk. If it was because water is polluted; is that the case with the sarovar in Darbar Sahib as well? They wash the parkarma with water.. don't they?

There is absolutely no sense in washing it in milk, and there is nothing to substantiate that this is the way things were, just like people refuse allowing bibis to do kirtan in Darbar Sahib because "that's the way they used to do it." Not realising that a lot of these traditions came under the masands. what is the SGPC doing ,why do I feel they are doing everting wrong such as giving saropas to people like Badal, misusing the goalk, mistreating there employs for speaking the truth such as firing them. what is happening

Again, if purity is the issue - why not use non-chemical based (or chemical based for that matter!) soap - it will clean it a lot better than milk - if that's the issue. That's not the issue.

I know people will get upset at me for saying this... if purity is the reason - why can we not use soap? please someone explain im a very foolish dumb person I have no knoll age but plz someone tell me

There is no reason to use milk - and no proof that that's the way they did in the "Puratan times." You may quote any baba jees you want, but as far as I'm aware, no rehitnama nor any other ithasic literature mentions milk being required to wash marble or anything else. plz prove me wrong  can someone tell me the reason

If anything the rehit maryada condemns the belief I kuchi lassi being significance in the chapter on anand karaj, where they reject the use of kuchi lassi in old traditions (like dipping feet in it as it was done.)

I ONLY respresent my own opinion on this issue, and don't represent any organisation, but my support is simply "akli sahib seviye..." to use our common sense, and the Akal Thakhat Maryada.jkdff

I'm very sorry I have ,made many mistakes plz try to forgive me if it possible I am just wanted to know the answer so plz forgive me as

I dont think your asking a question. But perhaps having a rant and giving ur view, which is fine to do. You've made clear that you have an issue with use of milk to wash the Harmandir Sahib. You also have an issue with hindu traditions, badal, sgpc and babas. Perhaps your looking to argue with someone who doesnt agree with you.

Either way, im not saying ur right or wrong, just thanks for sharing your view but doesnt look like anyone could have a constructive conversation with you.

  2. Amazing, lets all make an effort to increase our bani, read a little more or learn a new shabad or bani every day. Even 5 or 10 min a day on top of what your doing or a couple hours extra set aside for your development especially if your not working and have lots of free time.

Let use our time positively to imrpove our jeevan and get Gurujis blessings.

Not sure what its gnna be like in winter though lol

Since the last few days I been sitting in the sun aswell  absorbing all the heat feels gd. Our skin needs that too. Gives your skin that nice glow.

Yh, thats amazing. In the winter its gna be a killer?.

I havent had 'hot' showers for years, usually comfortable warm.

But perhaps need to transition and take benefits of the cold ishnaan.

  4. Yea, ultimately the more rihaaz you do the more your voice opens. Some ppl are naturally gifted, not everyone has an amazing voice. But that shouldnt be the focus.

The more you do riaz in the lower register the better your voice will be and higher in the octaves you will go.

SA is most important, then start to go slowly down the saptak Ni, Dha, Pa . . . . . . . in the lower saptak, this really helps the voice.

Also drink a glass of warm/water in the morning this helps the voice.

  5. So many benefits to cold ishnaan. It is a shame its so hard to do. Its feels amazing doing it in india in the summer.

At the moment i only do 30-40 seconds at end of a showerjust cold enough to the point i have to catch my breath?

    Aha! Saron da tel!

It can work wonders but only if you really believe in it. Back home it is a remedy for almost everything.

You graze yourself: use saron da tel

You bruise yourself: use saron da tel

You get stung by an insect: use saron da tel

You have a swelling: use saron da tel

You have a headache: use saron da tel

Need a moisturiser: use saron da tel

Want greasy hair: use saron da tel

Want to light a lamp (the little clay ones with wicks): use saron da tel

You have a problem and don't know what to do: use saron da tel

If you don't believe me then just ask your mum. She'll confirm it all!

    Its an amazing oil.

It was well suited to the pinds where homes were commonly more outdoor m, with open varandas so smell and oil dripping on the floor wasnt an issue.

Now we live indoors and so smell can bother ppl and the fact the oil can stain walls and carpets makes it inconvenient. But applying it to the full body and massage it in, once in a while to take its benefits.

I will be reading panth parkash by Rattan singh Bhangu and summarizing what I have read here. To keep myself accountable. All comments, suggestions, analysis welcome.

The version im reading has the teeka/ exegesis done by singh sahib Baba Sant Singh Akali, who used to be jathedaar of Budha dal. To be honest, its a written version of his katha recordings. When i am reading it feels like listening to katha too.  Although Panth Patkash is written in understandable panjabi, but i still read the teeka part.

So far it starts off with how a Maratha King had hired a firangii (frenchmen) names Deloney to protect his borders. The frenchmen wants to retire and go back to his homeland. So he sells what he can but what he cant like his mini army, he gives to his sisters son. The nephew, Pierre grows the army 3x bigger and  wins all of Agra and Delhi. The Maratha king gets worried that his french military commander is getting too powerful and starts thinking of ways to wrest control back or kill Pierre. Pierre realizes he is in danger and sells everything to the East English Tea company and flees to France. The Maratha king is mad, all his gold and effort that went into the army is wasted. But we never hear abt him again.

Just as the English reach Delhi to claim it, singhs attack and chase them off. The english are nonplussed. And ask the mughal emperor who are these singhs? And what right do they have over Delhi.

The mughal emperor lies and says, these are not rulers but my subjects who have rebelled. They have no right. And the english write this down and send it to London.

Then it is emphasized that there is always an enemity between hindus and muslims. And muslims will do anything to hurt hindus. And they lied to the British so that they can fight the Sikhs, and either both will weaken or atoeast sikhs destroyed.

As this was going on, Maharaaja Ranjeet singh becomes greedy and decides to attack his fellow sikhs in the patiala region. Those patiala sikhs then ask the British to join them to fight him off. This scares him away. There is a big rant about how if Ranjit Singh hadnt been so selfish, the sikhs would've stayed united and not lost their Raaj.

So in ludhiana, capital of the Patiala side of kings, english and sikhs start tk mingle. And Rattan Singh Bhangu hears of a English Captain asking about the Sikh origin story. And he again asks another muslim,.this time a maulavi about the sikhs.

Rattan Singh decides to set him straight and tells him you wont get any truth that way. And the Captain gets permission to let a lietenent Murray interview Bhangu to get the full truth.

Bhangu basically says we Sikhs have every right to be rulers here. Murray asks who gave you this right? A king. Bhangu replies the True King of Kings. And who is this Murray asks. And Bhangu says Guru Nanak dev ji, and since Murray has never heard of him, starts to tell about Guru Nanak Dev ji

This is where it gets interesting. It mentions that Guru Nanaks parents,.were form the glorius bedi kul. Who have always had an avataar of each jug born into their kul. And goes into how holy and great it is.

Then it also.says Mehta Kalu Ji and Mata Tripta used to be royals. Who gave ul their kingdom. Cuz akaash bani (prophecy?) Said if u want me to grant ur wish of having the avtaar of this jug born into ur family, u must give up ur kingdom. So they do. And the parents become servants of Rai Bular in Talwandi.

I had never heard this version before. Then it goes into the childhood sakhis of Guru Nanak. Which I will continue reading soon.

How you getting on with the reading?

  8. Sorry to hear of your loss. It must be a difficult time.

The banis mentioned above can be played. An Ardas is also required.

Perhaps once lock down opens you could arrange for an Akhand Path at the Gurdwara to give peace to his soul and some comfort to yourselves to get through this.

  9. Can your family assist further? Get some mutual people who know both sides and go over to speak to them?

Theres no winners in divorces. Sadly its become so common. Its so easy to just call for splitting up as opposed to working out the issues.
