I think with 1984 riots, Delhi Sikhs have been brutalised in a way the Punjab Sikhs have not and it has impacted their psyche.
The ankh is gone and they have been seriously demoralised.
The closest analogy I can probably find is what happened to the psyche of the Japanese people after having two atomic bombs dropped on them, where many of Japs have lost their warrior/samurai spirit. They still have honour in their society but they are lacking something that they lost 75 years ago.
I dont think it's just due to 1984 but the love of money that has done this to them.
Maybe the violence of 1947 and the subsequent stories woke up the Punjabi Sikhs.

Fastest growing due to immigration. As the number of Sikhs grow in Australia, Canada, New Zealand the number decreases in Punjab.
We just run away and expect Mr Gora to look after us in these countries. We will never fully be accepted there ever.

Even the church's pastor took part in the service.
"I gave a speech in German," said Monika Matthias. "And during prayer, I could only say yes, yes, yes, because we have the same concerns and we want to learn from you. And it is beautiful to feel that way about each other."

Less relevant? It's extremely relevant.
Sikhs in Punjab have little to no contact with muslims as there are very few there.
Here in the UK they try to attack our girls with grooming gangs, convert vulnerable people in our community.
This needs to be discussed.

I'v been to many mandirs and dargahs in India and they are really dirty! Gurdware are the cleanest places of worship in India.
It's completely true, Hinduism and some of its weird rituals has caused a lot of poverty and general uncleanliness. People dumping bodies in rivers, feeding animals in temples, people marrying animals and trees.
But in the grand scheme of things it's like saying a broken leg is better than a broken back. Amritsar is a filthy city apart from the area near the Darbar Sahib.

Sikhism civilised the people of Punjab to quite an extent. It is much better than nearby states such as Haryana, Rajasthan and UP.

Nah I moved into Cowley Uxbridge, it was full of goray. Until I went to Uni most of my life was around goray besides the time I was spending years in Guru Nanak School. However what astounded me was seeing all my relatives in areas such as Slough and Southall just cutting off their kesh and not knowing how to read and write gurmukhi properly or at all. I just don't see understand why people who lived in apnay areas didn't have any maan in sikhi or being sikh!

Both Singhs got kicked out of the group. I started a discussion about this being a bujjar kurahit. Everyone from monay to some group admins started on me. One group admin Singh said this years' sikh society is for oneness and that uni is multicultural, and we shouldn't discuss these things. One admin even went as far as saying 'Meat is Meat' whether halal or not. Anyway after some discussion I was disappointed, there were a few people that also agreed with me. But I can't believe these uni students were behaving as cucks. Some people were saying we were belittling another religion because of this petition?!
Such is the state of uni sikh societies, it seems they will not support other sikhs who don't want to eat halal.

The intellectual class of Jews are Ashkenazi Jews (from Germany and Eastern Europe)
Their intellectualness rose ironically came when Germany rose in 18th/19th century.
It was during this time German philosophers, scientists began to take interest in Indian philosophy, religious texts etc.
I suspect a lot of the Germanic Jews did too.
Robert Oppenheimer (American Ashkenazi Jew) who said to be the father of the atomic bomb quoted "Bhagavad Gita" when dropping the bombs in Hiroshima in WW2.
The atomic bomb was developed in part with inspiration from the "divine weapons" mentioned in the Mahabharat.
That is true, Oppenheimer was very into the Gita and believed in ancient Hindus having nuclear weapons and flying machines. I'm not sure if it's true, who knows.
Ashkenazi are as you said, the brains of the Jews. The middle eastern/north African brown jews (mizrahi) are more like muslims, they have more kids compared to Ashkenazi, much more religious and not as academically minded.
All Israeli prime ministers have been Ashkenazi jews even though half (or even more) the country is mizrahi.

The thing that really makes my blood boil is those Afghan Sikhs on Southall Broadway selling pictures of Mecca and headscarves for muslims.
These guys were oppressed and thrown out by muslims in Afghanistan and still sell this stuff. It's like a Jew selling Nazi uniforms and flags.

Waheguru, sikhs doing hookah and shisha seriously. I had some sikh girl start on me on UB1UB2 instagram group where they put 1 ad on for hookah. I was confused that they put on the ad because the group seems sikh as they post a lot of sikh stuff - I could be wrong though. I was at Godolphin school until early 90s, then I moved into West London when I was in year 4. When in the Godolphin first school I used to tell the kids beef is bad. I even got some muslmaan to avoid beef at school , some muslim kids would come to me and tell me "that dal has beef" or some stuff like that, loong time ago now so fuzzy memory. I would have probably kept going to that Punjabi School around Grassmere Avenue, I think it was Sundays at Lea Valley school. or Lea School. anyway I learnt better punjabi at Guru Nanak School Hayes anyway, shame they didn't teach me the whole Japji sahib when I was there for many years. Also would have probably ended up going to Herschel Grammar as well. I was living at York Avenue, still got the house for renting out.
Well pretty much all of the meat they were selling was halal. I overheard a sul in front of me asking the staff once if a particular dish was halal and they said it was. I had to write a series of emails and forced them to provide one non halal dish as well. The funny thing is that I usually only eat from the salad bar at work but I didn't want the suls lifestyle accommodated for considering they are probably less than 10% of the work force. Look at that, a company that has jusr 10% suls and they are bending over backwards for them.
I know for a fact that Brilliant and Madhu's in southall sell halal food, they just don't label it so as not to scare off the Indian customers. Sneaky idiots. Suls will never sell non halal food in shops let alone restaurants. I think Sira Cash and Carry in Southall even have a halal meat counter.
It's a good thing you left Godolphin and grew up around more apne. My wife also went to Guru Nanak school in Hayes, she doesn't fully understand the menace of suls as she grew up with just apne.

Back in the late 80s and early 90s I was starting school in Slough. There were loads of Pakistanis in primary school. There was none of this extremism in adults either. Just like punjabi sikhs, Pakistanis were busy working and probably doing overtime shifts.
It is unfortunate that we haven't been able to promote sikhi and gurmukhi after that period, just still too focussed on work. Look at how many musulmaan know quraan or arabic. Apnay became a joke, kept on the work and make money mentality.
In my pend mallian in Kartarpur Jallandar, the few muslims are known as telis or tehlis, apparently that is meant to be their caste related to Oil. I mean they are friendly and no sign of extremism from them.
I had the same issue at my work place. They were force feeding halal meat to people without them even knowing. I made a complaint and made them label all halal food. It took quite a bit of effort. There are even a lot of Indian restaurants in Southall that do this.
The Sikhs who do Shisha are a joke.
Even in the 90s the suls in Slough were extremists. I went to James Eliman school from the late 80s to the mid 90s which was sul infested. Some of them would try to force us to say bismillah, at bloody age 10! Obviously they were learning this from their parents.
Then you had the whole Shere Punjab vs Chalvey Boys thing. I remember police turning up every Friday outside Herschel Grammar where I studied. Thankfully the Shere Punjab smashed up the whole of Chalvey High Street and that seemed to end all of the troubles. Apne back then took no nonsense.

I did a lot of research into Buddhism and did like a lot of what I read, I even applied some of it to my own life to positive effect.
However I didn't like the monk and nun aspect of it. They believe that only the monks and nuns can receive enlightenment in this life. If everyone became a monk or nun the whole world would simply stop working.

Why did Udham Singh have to call himself Ram Muhammad Singh? It just goes to show the subservient nature of our people even back then.
The reason Bhagat Singh cut his hair and denounced his Sikh roots was to be accepted by the Hindu masses and he admitted this himself.
