As a Sikh, I also wonder some terms of Gurmat that also share with another faith, like Islam and Hindu. So I like to search the terms from the perspective of another faiths, and the story behind them.
The origin of Ath Sath Tirath term in SGGS may refers from Aṣṭaṣaṣṭi Tīrthas in Hindu Purana.
This can be found in the chapter 108-110 of the Tirtha-mahatmya of the Nagara-khanda of the Skanda Purana.
In those chapters list the 68 name of the Tirath, and the benefit of visiting the Tirath according Hindu faith.
