  1. I read this article in the Daily Mail about the Royal Wedding

    Royal Wedding

In the guest list for Faith leaders, politicians, dignitaries, the Forces and the Middletons

It names Dr Indarjit Singh, Director, Network Sikh Organisations, who is he?

I am honoured and proud that he is on the official guests list.

But do not know who he is? Is it the same guy the BBC always use when they have a program about Sikhs?

  2. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh,

The price is indeed good, but you do know that it is for a refurbished camera and not a brand new one.

That means that there will be scratches and marks on the camera.

If you are interested in looking for a camera, please can I suggest that you look at camera's within Micro-four thirds system.

    for example the Panasonic GF1 & GF2, Olypmus Pen EPL-1 and EPL-2.

The picture quality you get with these will be as good as the Nikon, yes you will have to spend more but it will be worth it.

Another site to buy from is Park Cameras they normally have good deals.

  3. Converting from VHS to DVD these days is pretty straight forward..

It all depends on the hardware that you have and what software that you use.

Firstly you need hardware to connect your VHS player to your laptop/pc.

This is what I use, Ion converter, this will allow you to connect your VHS Player to your laptop using the 3 pin connector (Red, White & Yellow) to your laptop via the usb connection.

Secondly you will need software to record with, I use Nero but there are many available and the ion comes with basic recording software.

I suggest that you use something other than this, such as Nero or similar as you will be able to produce better quality DVDs and also save your files in a number of different formats.

One thing I will mention, and share my experience in this, make sure you have enough space on you laptop/pc before you start recording as it will take up space. The higher the recording quality the more space it will take up. You must have a minimum of 5GB spare to make one DVD.

If you live in UK, the Ion can be purchased online via Amazon or instore at Maplins.

    Hope this helps.

A student at UPenn is writing a senior thesis on Sikhi and was extremely interested on getting some opinions from Sikhs on a few questions. The link below will take you to her questionnaire. I encourage you to not only take a look at it but fill it out. Some of the questions are quite thought-provoking and would serve us all well in the progression of our own Sikhi. And it would certainly help the student with her thesis. Take a look...

    PS

Please feel free to forward this to other Sikhs you may know. The more responses, the better, and more representative sample she gets!

The venue for the Sanjha Akhand Kirtan Smagam is NOT a hall that has served alcohol or meat previously.

This venue is not community hall or a venue that is open to the general public at present.

This venue is no different to a smagam that has been held in a tent or an open area space.

Pleae look at the images that have been posted and make your own judgement.

Please forgive me if I have offended any one this is not my intention.
