ok, i agree, ALL of them come with a lot of responsibility. however, it's just the kirpan that society tries to take away from us. we need to show them that only dedicated sikhs are carrying it, not random drug addicts.

regarding kakkars... no one is saying don't wear a kadha... but a kirpan? there's a lot of responsibility that comes with the kirpan. i've never met anyone who advocates wearing the kirpan before amrit.

i wore all my kakaars for a year before i took amrit to prepare because i was told so by a gursikh.

and all the kakaars come a lot of responsibility, not just the kirpaan.

thought id share my story.. my mom found out she had breast cancer last yr.. but she didnt accept treatment... she hasnt gone back to the drs to get it checked again.. she has soo much faith in guru ji its just amazing, she says guru ji will help her and take the cancer away if she belives He will and now shes perfectly fine.. you cant even tell she is sick.. thought id share that..

personally im not a fan of kemo, but i think if u just have faith, guru ji will help u thru it.. i think cancer is just a test from Guru Ji

But it still relates back to the definition of a gursikh. The whole reason this topic is dragging out so long is because certain posters in this thread have been trashing the overall name of gursikhs by equating them to "pompous amrithdharis". If it's longer than a gurbani topic, it's because gurbani has less to be disputed, definitions can be commonly agreed for the most part by experts, none of which i'd wager would frequent this forum.

let them call gursikhs wat they want, guru ji knows and He will do wat He thinks is right. you cannot force someone to change their opinions, whether they are right or wrong, i just wanted to share my opinion, i shall let you continue.
