Are you sure it was released in the UK, I go to the cinema weekly, I have never seen it up...I know it was pretty much banned throughout India..... Would be ncie to watch

BC Sikh Youth - do u have any ideas on DVD releases etc we would love to get our hands on this in the UK and I think many more ppl would too, anyways of finding out.

Uxbrdige as a whole is quite student friendly, its a big and mixed borough with lots to do... you got 2 massive shopping centres, and loads of shops.... (a few yobos though). Its also about 20mins bus from southall. So near to Gurdwaras.

Uxbrdige college has its good points and bad points (obviously). There are lots of "time wasting" kids but then again people do alright too, so Iguess it depends on the individual. Uxbridge is also 10 mins from Brunel Uni campus... so cosmpolitan with good tube links -WAHEGURU I sound like an advert...u get the idea...

As i type, i am watching CrimeWatch... and im really annoyed.

There was a feature about honour killings etc and one muslim guy was talking about men and how backward thinking they are in regards to their women... the thing was, he actually referred to "Muslim and Sikh men"... i mean what the...?! How many cases do you hear of honour killings or beatings in the Sikh community? Ive never heard of one in my life, yet i do not deny these things happen.

He went on to say "this is a problem in the Muslim and Sikh community" ... we have seriously lost the plot - we are being so misrepresented and we stand by and let it happen openly...

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience at the nagar kirtan today...I guess sometimes we have to take some bad with the good. On a positive note, that one girl listened - is this not a positive sign - you got through to that ONE PERSON! Ideally, we'd like more...but imagine that one girl learnt something and can perhaps educate another fellow person... Anyhow my point is not to feel disheartened ALTHOUGH I feel your sentiments on being "nicked," we as a team, were handing out flyers about the magazine explaining its FREE etc etc, and were told by a few uncles that this is anti-Sikhi?!!?!?!??!?!

You sometimes have to take it on the chin and move on....Remember that one person u got thru to - this is what counts...

P.S. if you feel this strongly on the issue, perhaps you would write an article on the matter - state of youth affairs, I will be happy to publish it - Editor@SikhSpeak.Com

ASingh - the best thing to do for non-sikhs is keep it completly and utterly simple with pictures. What i recommend is go to www.harjot.com and print the posters on Guru Ji they are great. Also have something a bit intermediate level too, try www.boss-uk.org and the articles there they have something great too its like "1 page" on the Gurus. My humble suggestion!

- restoringthepride.com Have an excellent little dvd this is worth getting!

- KambdiKalaai.Com - for kambdi kalaai a film about SikhDiaspora

- Short Docu film - warriorsaintsfilm.com (DAASTAR)

- SikhNet Film Festval DVD - Sikhnet.Com (or download)

- AmercianMade (do a google Search) by Sharat Raju - Not a Sikh film per se, but a look at stereotypes against sikhs (15 mins film)

- If you know anyone in India, this is your best BET - look for CJM Multimedia they have done a few sikh documentary style films (not great but still something), T-Series have done some too.

- Sunny the Proud Sikh (VERY KIDDY)

Waht you should of done at the time was to call the police and say that they tired to do an illeagal manouvere and were driving stupidly, also the fact that they were hurling abuse, so cant have been concentrating!

1) U HAVE TO TELL UR INSURANCE COMPANY

2) Get written statements

3) Pass all correspondance to the insurance company (thats what theyre there for)

Phone up your insurance company and explain they threw something at u as well. I wouldnt worry too much though...
