  1. WJKK WJKF

I'm travelling to New York for the 1st time since Sept 11th tomorrow, and I'm a dastaar wearing Singhni. I've heard of stories where the airport security/police have asked Sikhs to remove their turban. Now I know in the UK I can refuse and the police here can't make me do so. But I was wondering if I was asked to remove my dastaar in JFK can I refuse? Also I'm travelling on my own so knowing the answer will give me some peace of mind.

Sorry if the above does not make sense. I've rushed the post.

  5. Can I ask why a Taksal one? Isn't amrit, amrit regardless of whom has organised it?

Taskal is a puraatan Jatha, its fine for them to go there and they give a good rehitnama.

No offence, but why question when you have the Taksaal Logo?

I'm not questioning anything. Just curious as to why Bhaji wanted to know about the Taksaal amrit sanchaar in particular.

I took amrit from my local Gurdwara..who don't belong to any jatha. But I have decided to take up the Taksaal rehit. Hence the logo!

I just get really annoyed when ppl ask if I'm amritdari then ask from whom have I taken amrit from! I always answer I have taken the amrit of Dhan Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

    That is why asked...

Ok not condoning or condemning the picture but you really should read the rest of the blog to find out this guy's view. Here is an excerpt:

    About Me:

Do you really want to know? Worship the Supreme One known in the world as Aum, Waheguru, God, Almighty, Lord, Khuda, Brahm, Akal Purakh, Allah, etc.

Travel a lot, mostly west coast. Love the West Coast, all the way from northern BC down to Socal.

Vegetarian for more than half my life.

Good luck to ya Sharan :D

ThanQ...and it isn't too late to train and apply for it!

I would just like to say a REALLY BIG THANK YOU...to the London Singh and Singhni who have sponsored me. It was a very genrous donation...so thank you... :TH:

  8. Kurtas - I've invested in some specialist adidas running trainers which have the right support for my feet exactly where I need them.

I read in the Running magazine that running trainers should be changed after every 500miles I think it was...so hopefully the ones I've bought now should be cool.

Nope I don't work near Smethwick Gurdwara at all...although I do go there pretty much every Sunday.

So you never answered my last question...will you be sponsoring me?

  9. Awww Harmeet Bhaji...thanQ you so much!

You have pretty much said everything that I was feeling but was too scared put into words.

It is true...for every person who has viewed this thread, had they have all donated £5 each I would have made £2700 easily...(wow...would have smashed my target ohmy.gif )

But come on people...quit being so stingy.... :D

Oh and thanQ for making this a sticky... d_oh.gif
