  1. a keski is not a akj concept singhniya have worn keski since guru gobind singhs times.. weather people feel that keski is a kakkar or not it should be adopted by all

Ok, but who has made keski a kakkar? Which people? Say it with me A K J.

Not saying they are wrong, just giving the facts.

who made it kakaar??hmmmmm... the panj pyarey tell you everything you need to know so if you want to find out...get pesh.

Im sure they're not going to say that the women have to wear dastars whilst the men can partially cover their hair with some hair sticking out.....WAKE UP!!! we are all equals.

funny how much of us say were not brahministic, yet we argue to the very end in support of it.

    Ek_Munda_5abi is absolutely right.

why does guru sahib want to eat food??

there are many sakhis concerning this issue..one of which i rememberded from a taksali katha vachik was about a prominent individual from sikh history (sorry cant remember name) where he was supposedly stranded and forced to eat meat by mughal or something...but then he said the tukk:

anik prakaar bhojan bahu keeeae bahu bi(n)jan misattaaeae

karee paakasaal soch pavithraa hun laavahu bhog har raaeae

followed by placing the kirpan in the meat

..and then all of sudden it turns into sholay or something.

Not going into the meat debate now as nobody is wrong on either side in my opinion but we all need to wake up and stop these practices.

The kirpan in the langar is meant to signify that the langar is now fully pavitar and hence why they mix it into the bigger containers so that this magical sample spreads over the rest of the sabjees and rotis.

My decision making skills are probably somewhat lacking, but i know where i stand in this debate.

A bhai sahib once told me that gurbani has 'paras kala' i.e power of the philosphers stone (in a metaphorical context). The more you read gurbani (regardless of if you initially understand it or not) the more you will begin to understand and the more you will bring that understanding into practice. So in a way i suppose it does turn iron or lead into gold.

From Guru Arjan Dev Ji's well known salok:

guradhaev saa(n)th sath budhh moorath guradhaev paaras paras paraa ||

The Divine Guru is the image of peace, truth and wisdom. The Divine Guru is the Philosopher's Stone - touching it, one is transformed.

Personally I dont see what I wear as being a major issue as long as it is conservative and not revealing (why would anyone want to show off the type of underwear they are wearing..or even call this builders bum a fashion statement)

concentrate on your nitnem and abhiyaas.

Bana is great to wear and i try to wear it everytime i go to the gurdwara...its easy to sit in the cross-legged position. Dont get into brahministic views in thinking that you are a 'better' sikh by wearing bana as i bet haumay will be knocking on your door first if thats your purpose.

    This is my opinion.

We are only merely mortals, it's very difficult for us to break away from the 5 evils in this age of darkness. I am very sorry to hear about your father's situation and I honestly do pray that he finds sukhi.

As sikhs we should be aware of death at all times but people like myself take it lightly; 'we're going to die in 50-60 years time..etc'. We have the Rehat Mar-yada to remind us of how to live through this life as good, honest people before we inevitably die. Scientific advancements and breakthroughs may have brought about methods to prolong human life, as well as a 'cure' to stop ageing and consequently age-related conditions/diseases. Having said that, our time to go will come and is predestined.

We must prepare ourselves before this end and so pyario jee, everyone is in the same boat as everyone else except that some individuals have been given advance warning about their potential end.

My advice would be to first (if not already) become strong in rehit and then beg for amrit. Have the lifestyle of a gursikh, do your abhiyaas and nitnem whole-heartedly and live everyday as your last (this applies to everyone).

ismir ismir ismir suK pwvhu ]

Meditate, meditate, meditate in remembrance of Him, and find peace.

I dont know how much help i've been but we are only humans and we do have feelings, but this is one of those less talked evils (moh = attachment) that we must one day face and learn to defeat.
