  1. Veerji you are right as I am in the same situation you are in and I dress professionally and I get people asking me about my dastaar even my managers. Guys you are fighting here for colors of the turban, why dont u post something which tells the sikhs who have cut there hair so that they can come to right track. Almost 75% of the sikhs have cut there hair in USA and Canada alone and have gone it drugs, have become mafia agents drug dealers. If you want to do something, then do something which can bring back these sikhs which have chosen to cut there hair, even though they come to the Gurudwara but are not ashamed also. Not only that there are sikh girls who dont want to marry a gursikh guy but prefer a clean shaven. I am sorry to take you off the track but think isnt this a situation these days. I am sure you will know someone as a friend who has done this way, why cant we take an initiative to explain them the value of being a sikh for which our Gurus have sacrificed like no other religion i the world. Start a drive in your local gurudwara, sit down and and talk to the people who you see has cut there hair. Then I will say yes you have done something. Bhul Chuk Maff
  2. There is no restriction as to what colors to wear. My each turban matches with my shirt, and I change it everyday. I have seen people wearing some turban everyday, i mean the same color, why. In a professional work environment you need to change clothes everyday, why not turban after all it is a part of your dress. We have to remember one thing, each singh represents all of your community, and the image he or she creates is for all of the sikhs not just him. I have been recognized by so many whites and given good comments to dress professionally specially the turban always matches with the shirt or pant. I still remember one of the managers from Deloitte when I use to work with him, he had someone in his last project, a sikh , whose turban use to stink, and he use to wear the same one everyday. I felt so bad. He use to be surprised to see me with different colors matching with my shirt everyday. He was under the impression that sikhs wear the same color everyday and they are dirty. Guys use your common sense. Be professional, there is no restrictions as to what color a sikh should wear. Look good, as it is a materialistic world, everyone is concerned about looks, so we have to show that even sikhs can look good. Thats my opinion. Rest is your judgement.
