There are 2 views, some people say Bhaugauti is sword and other saying Bhaugauti is God.The translation I m refering to is from renowned author Macauliff.he translated it as:

"Having first remembered the SWORD, meditate on Guru Nanak."

I have seen few other instances in guru ji's bani where he mentioned Bhaugauti and sword in same context.Like he said in 'Bhaugauti ki vaar':

"Lai Bhaugauti durg shah". Which means "durga took up the sword" where Bhaugauti=Sword( I also took this thing frm Macauliff book, which is considered as authority in Sikh History).

Guru ji called Sword by Bhaugauti 4-5 times in his bani (as far as I read).

There is one other instance in SGGS:

"Bhaugauti mudra man mohiya maya"

Which means "man wears God's mark(like Hindu tilak or Sikh religious marks or any other religious symbols) but his mind is in maya"

Here Bhaugauti means God.

Guru Gobind Singh ji used Bhaugauti as sword so many times like:

"nam Bhaugauti loh gharaya"

which means: Man has fashioned the sword with iron.

So I was just curious what does he meant in ARDAAS.

WHen amrit is prepared... guru sahib guru gobind singh ji recited these 5 banian. ANd Guru sahib gave himself has told us to recite these.... Japji sahib itself has so much shakti in it. Just recite the first paudi of japji sahib and it has soo much power.

Should we really go against what hukam guru ji gave to us... i know ur just curious ...

Shouldnt be liking a particular kirtanee as # 1 or better than the other... doesnt make sense rite...

after all no competition here between them ... shouldnt be ... they sing the praises of waheguru ji ...

so just saying should all be da same and we should enjoy kirtan by all kirtanees since all try and all want to be blessed by waheguru ji.

I think this is why:

Because Guru Granth Sahib Jee is our Guru

and Guru Granth Sahib Jee contains all bani under the name of "Naanak"

Guru Gobind Singh jee wanted to remain consistent with this rule,

so outside of Guru Granth Sahib jee his Baanee was not called by the pen name of Naanak

this is my wiiiiiiiiiild guess.

HOWEVER, guru gobind singh jee is STILL guru nanak's jot and LITERALLY it means that

all the gurus were mahalas

and all the gurus were also patshahs

because if Guru Gobind Singh jee was patshahi 10 then who was patshahi 9 ?

so... Guru jee just changed the wording in order to prevent any misunderstanding between GURU (aad guru granth sahib) and NOT GURU (dasam granth sahib)

Because those Gurus who didn't write in Guru Granth Sahib,

I think the bottom line is that all of the Gurus were Mahala (Piri, Degh, Daya) and Patshahi (Miri, Tegh, Dharam) all in one.

and going back to Singh Sahib's question - As Son of Guru Gobind SIngh jee put it only the brahmgyanee knows his own reasons.

But we can be sure that Guru Nanak and Guru Gobind Singh are the same jyot, which is in Guru Granth SAhib.

Well what about being a Paramedic? You help people everyday, save lives, and on top of it, you're always on the go, and with that time goes by soo fast, sitting in some office, punching numbers, or writing is tooo boring for me..

I would recommend it if you're in the medical field already.

With life its always been like that, you have to juggle your time with everything, family life, friends, etc. But have your mind set straight on Sikhi, and do sangat of good people, who can help you progress in life, as an individual, and eventually to Akaal purkh.

I have the same idea dat watever i wanna be is to be somethin that i can also help OTHERS. I cant see myself just sitting in the office typing away in a programmer job, or be a business guy just after money.

So i am planning to be a cop. Start off as a cop and later continue in the same line but keep getting promoted to a better position. IN this way its a decent pay and you are helping those in need. And just picture this, a SINGH in a uniform to help others

I had the passion of always wanting to be a cop but others put me down cuz of low pay and or thinking of them to be not respectable (in parents mind) like those in india. And i know that cops in canada are nothin like those in india ... @

Anyway ... hows the sangats opinion on this...

Im a 14year old boy, and I dont go to a Sikh School, but I do go to a mixed culture school. Anyway I used to get picked on about my pug, please used to beat me up when I stood up for my kes verbally. But I physically cant fight and reluctant to try so I just take the beating, but not once have I considered getting rid of it. The point im trying to make is as a community we have to spread the word about this, as one day someone will get so badly bullied because of it may cause them to cut the kes.

Whereever we are, no matter what kind of situation it is, in school, mall, anywhere... u see anyone being picked on, even if its not a apna singh... some other person picked on cuz of how he or she looks we gotta help them out!!!!!!!!! Gotta stand up for them.

Im pretty sure we probably know someone who does make fun of someone. Just stand up for the

other person, say hey he/she is tryin their best to stay in sikhi... he/she is gurus roop. EVEN if its not a sikh, another gora, kala,... we should still say there one of gurus kids tooo ,....
