Hmmmm ... interesting.. i heard of guru gobind singh jis picture been drawn by a ... hmm i think was it a muslim painter who sneaked in sangat and got guru jis picture drawn. It was passed down many generations and it looks pretty much similar to the replicas we see as of today...

... but never seen or heard of guru nanak jis picture. A saying goes, "take a picture it would last longer", i dont agree ... but save a image in yourself of guru ji, that would last you eternity! :e:

Just want to add we are putting a different component to this where kirtanees get to stay on a specific topic ... "Hoamai"... this type of kirtan darbar has been performed at many kirtan darbar raensbais... and we really think it will be awesome to have one here.

We encourage all kirtanees if they can send in your shabads. IF ANYONE does not want to stay on the specific topic, but still wants to do a shabad, that is great but it would be great to know who is doing a shabad and how many and which one ... ... thank you jio and hope to see as much sangat come out! :e:

I personally think that they movie will be a disappointment. Firstly, they will have those Hindi style songs. Secondly, the movie will be made in Indian standards. I bet the movie will be a flop like Asoka (staring Shah Rukh).

If they wanna make a movie about a great Indian King then they should make it with western standards. Plus, 25 crore is nothing. The movie should have atleast 50 crore spent on it. Passion of the Christ had 30 millions dollars spent on it, which is about 90 crore rupees.

and lets face it ... they ... i believe ... will not show the hardcore history facts .... I wonder how they will show some of the sikhi roles in there if some there r lots (m. Ranjit singh, jassa singh ramgharia/alhuwalia, and ltos more.... )

I reli believe as some believe ... it will be a flop not bollywood wise but sikhi wise. Again another success that will make believers believe in somethin not true..

Hmmm interesting ... wow i myself dont know much about this group but ive heard they really in depth followers of sikhi and really hardcore to. I heard when u goto a gurdwara of a sikh say anywhere u see kids running around, bibian socializing, etc....

But in a gora gurdwara (shouldnt be a difference but just tellin the difference ) ... u see its like everyone is quiet and doing naam simran and what your suppose to do! Its wicked fro mwhat i heard... u guys can correct me if im wrong.

My experiences are just stories from people and some members such as Gurfateh singh of toronto. If anyone of u guys get a chance do get the company of such singhs and just see how there meaning towards of sikhi is ... its better that way then just simply hearing stuff and rumours from others

Dear Bhai Sahib Ji,

Is the sikhnet online sri guru granth in lareevaar or padh chedd?

Is the Gurbani CD file ALL_SGGS in lareevaar or padh chedd?

Can someone please help..I have saroup of Sri Guru granth Sahib, but I can not read Gurmuki how can I tell if I have lareevaar or padh chedd? can some help!

are there spaces between the words... looks at the gurmukhi words im pretty sure eventhough ud ont know gurmukhi ... u can tell if there is spaces or if all the words r together between the two bars that marks the end of a line.

If there are NO spaces its lareevaar saroop if not its padh chedd...

What does it mean when someone says that a saroup of Sri Guru granth Sahib is lareevaar and padh chedd? Can someone please expain my Punjabi is not good.

Jio... the orginial Sri Guru granth sahib ji is in Lareevar saroop ... which all the words are together .. for example...

wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh

And the Padh Chedd is when you separate the words... for example...

waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguur ji ki fatehh

So you put where ',' should go where the spaces should go.

Many did not like this idea and still learn to read from larivaar saroop because they say how guru ji wrote the first SGGS it should stay like dat ... who are we to change it.

But some say, to have a better understanding of SGGS we can cut it down and understand the meaning better.

THis further on leads into more delema where we dont knwo where to place a certain pause or ',' ... a sentence can be change totally depending on where u put the comma, same goes with gurbani.

SIngh ji please dont say its putting doubts in your mind ... hurts me ... it would hurt guru sahib too

I guess it all comes down to sharda what my veer khalsa ji was talkin about.... its how much love you have for your guru ji ...

Guru ji knows how much love you have for him within. Let me put it this way...

Guru ji wants us to be physically active.. with no food in you expecially on the long plane ride or watever... u will not be able to concentrate on anythin expecially ur nitnem and simran. So i do think its a ritual...

Its the love that counts for your guru. Guru ji understands everythin.. not what some ppl just think ... i can say da same that a maha gursikh has told me no u should eat... dont take me wrong jio, all gursikhs are maha... no doubt... but i guess it all comes down to what YOU think.

Its not that like if you eat... guru ji will not except u ... think about it ...

I went to india this past summer in august... going was no prob i was warned ahead of time to take my siri sahib off by my parents and relatives and even though i did not want to i did by doing ardas.

(BTW... never go on russian airlines... damn ppl dont know how to speak to u with respect and stuff)

Anyway, on the way back at the india airport... we were to go to from india to russia and russia to toronto. While waiting in line for secruity. I was doing my morning nitnem since it was the morning time.... AND suddenly remembered i had my siri sahib on. Well i couldnt take it off then ... so i just told my parents and they said "koi ni .. jo hoya deki jao" . So i just continued to do my nitnem.

When my turn came, still doing nitnem... i went through the metal detector thing.... it beaped cuz of my kara... they knew so they do that stick metal detector thing.. they did it everyone even on top of my dastaar... and it DIDNT BEAP NEAR MY SIRI SAHIB.

I GOT IN!

We flew from india to russia, im on the plane wit my siri sahibmy parents soo happy and me too ... i geuss u can say haumai came into me

Russia was a 6 hour wait! And so just being proud, knowing guru sahib is always wit me i went same thing but this tim they fou

dn out. The people they are, being soo RUDE.. told me "Get that dagger off and put it in this box". Im like ok what the hell i started to explain its religious and stuff and they bring in the whole secruity staff... LOL .. i was like ok yes bring it on ill take u all on .. lol j/k ...

Anyway there was someone at least who can speak english to take my siri sahib and who said they can ship it to toronto. EVERYONE... DO NOT LET THEM SHIP IT FOR U! They put it in a envelope i was not aware... cz of the service parents were just like just sweaering at them and we just wanted to get out of there. But jio please leave siri sahib at home, dont let them ship it .. too much beadbi!!!

So ya .. most can say dis was cuz i did nitnem before so i got away and iwasnt doing it after... or i had haumai inme....

But i simply want to keep it straight... it was a lesson from guru sahib to me. About all this ...

I stopped going on to a lot of Sikh sites lately, because all of them are just turning into Islam bashing or saying how Muslims are converting everyone.

Open your eyes, a person can join any religion, like there are bad and good elements of every religion. I don't know what more to say, all of this stuff gets annoying.

There are soo many sakhis behind this ... pretty sure a lot of my brothers who are better educated than myself would know that the brahmins had a lot of haumai in them... that they are the only supiorer one... only then guru sahib had said dis....

But i think by only having a name ... dont admire urself because ur dis and dat... but just having a name does not mean anythin. Its temporary anyways init ?

All the name means is your identity in this word.... IF u use it to have pride ... then yes its wrong ... if not ... i dont see anythin wrong with it....

A friend told me it was "closed" due to a fire that no one bothered cleaning up. This is what I heard.

The gurdwara your talkin about is near QEW next to the dixie outlet mall in mississauga... and it was caught on fire a long time ago cant say but for sure more than a year. ANd it was tried to be repaired the best it can but since the gurdwara was in a house from the start and a very old house to be exact it was very hard. They are tryin to get a new land and or build a new building on that property but that commity of the gurdwara is .... i know them personally @

ANyway ... im pretty sure there is still some sangat coming there but not as much but the info u got about not cleaning up is at least wrong.... sorry about that bro
