  1. Waheguru ji ka khalsa,

    Waheguru ji ki fatehh!

HAHA, i seen that a lot but actually i do it myself too! BUT... im wearing a distaar and i wear a patka type size cloth to cover the turban ONLY for work rolleyes.gif

PPL look at me and ask why i do dis ... but simply i got a good reason cuz i dont want my dastaar to get dusty, dirtry, etc...

But i think also this does give out a wrong impression, but dis is simply my reason why i do it. When i go anywhere else i wear my lovely turban B)

    Good post khalsa bro blush.gif

im not amritdhari but i KNOW for a fact that the day you take amrit will be one of the most spiritually powerful day of your life......ppl who have prepared properly will buzz for weeeks after taking amrit......before you knock it go learn about what is involved and ask ppl who have taken amrit for their opinion.

i dont mind ppl sharing their opinions, but if you dont even know how amrit is prepared and the concepts behind it why give an opinion about it?

sorry if ive come across as harsh but for me, to say anything to belittle amrit is like belittling the gurus.

    Waheguru jio!

WOW! YES ... AMRIT does have powers that will change u forever. I myself when i was about to take amrit 4 months from vasakhi day in late december... one day i woke up snapped wat the hell am i doing eating meat, not doing anythin wit my life. :)

From that day till vasakhi day ... it was guru jis amrit and kirpa dat kept me away from the meat, cutting hair ... etc...

The amrit that i was about to take from the panj pyare kept reminding me gave me courage, and it felt that guru ji was rite there beside me....

Its not straight out power that counts... but if u think ab

out it ... it has its own guru kirpa power of its ownself... B)

  4. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh!!

I agree veerji!! We call ourselves, the lowest of the lowest, but its our actions that make our character, the lowest of the lowest sikh cleanes the washrooms of his guru's home, cleanes the joray full of mud/dirt, isn't afraid to clean up the garbage behind the gurdwaras..

That's a true sikh of the guru, if you do that type of sewa for years on in, guru maharaj will give you a special seat in his heart, because you have made this your character, by calling yourselves certain things like, moorakh, dass, naukar, has an effect to a certain extent, but by doing that type of sewa, you become above all!!

    Bhul chuk maaf! ^_^

Waheguru ji ka khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh!!

    Waheguru ji!

    I totally agree wit u veerji .... :)

The best seva is doing the seva of others... while doing it yourself and making others doing it wit u ... allowing them to join u as well!!!

Lets all do as much seva as we can (including myself for su

re) .... from the heart not to show others dat we r a very humble person!!

  5. I beleive this was one of the other changes of gurmukh singh musafir but I may be mistaken. I know in the early part of last century only amritdharis were allowed to do anand karaj as it had been since the time of the first anand karaj.

Why dont you read the meaning of the lava? Why do we walk around guru sahib doing parkarma? why dont we have vows like every other religion?

We do have vows, except the husband and wife arent making vows to each other, no siree.. they are making a vow that they will revolve their lives AROUND guru granth sahib (thus going around guru granth sahib) and in each of the lava they commit to lead a gursikh life and work together towards mukhti and being better sikhs and human beings.

How can a mona/non amritdhari ever do this in good conscience? they are making a fake promise to guru sahib which they have no intention of keeping, if anythign this makes them worse in my eyes than they were before because now they just made a promise which they wont keep and they dont even have any idea they did!

    ignorance is bliss isnt it?

    Waheguru ji ka khalsa,

    waheguru ji ki fatehh!

Mkhalsa ji, jio when ever u post somethin i seriously learn somethin from it rolleyes.gif<

    !--endemo-->

I agree wit everyone u said and it totally makes sense... when i look back at all the weddings i went to (keeping in mind i have not ever in my life seen a proper gursikh wedding, eventhough i have been an amritdhari for about almost 2 years), i do see my relatives and family friends growing their beards and them same ppl in the parties the same night drinking and fighting.. its like a tradition now... ;)

  6. Lose hope?! LOSE HOPE?!?!

GURU KHALSA DOES NOT LOSE HOPE!!

just because one (great) man does not come back you think the panth is going to lose hope? if that happens I will lose hope in the panth because there would be no real khalsa left. Why should our future hang on the return of one man? yes if he returned some people would be inspired, but im sure an equal number would say "hey where have you been?" and not do anything for the panth no matter what justification is given for his abscence.

I think the panth will do what the panth needs to do when it needs to do it. We dont rely on one single man, no matter how great. We rely on guru sahib.

    WAHEGURU ! WELL SAID!

  7. Waheguru jio,

JIo, i had posted a similar post before, dont know if i can find it now ;) pretty old

But basically same thing. My points were, that some of us are in university, pretty hard when you studying everyday and it takes till 2-3 am for studyin and gotta get back up by 83o for next classes. I have asked the sangat here if its ok to do nitnem before you goto sleep. A lot of you said its all good, but the key is dyan. We need to have focus when we doing nitnem.

Nitnem is our guide for the day. Guru ji gave it to us to start the day. But we not only have to just read it .. but also UNDERSTAND wat we are reading.

Well my two cents are, that i think its ok to do nitnem before you goto sleep... in certain circumstances...

  8. where is this Sacha Sauda place, address?

    Waheguru ji!

IM glad u asked ! Ill try my best dont know exact number address though. Its on the corner of steeles and torbram. If your coming from airport to torbram it will be on your left side before the torbram lights (vice versa right side after lights). And if you coming on torbram from Bovaird springdale area its on your left side after lights (Vice versa).

See its a big plaza type and mostly are many indian stores there. But this is next to some masage store... its a yellow sign, says sacha sauda. Cant miss it.... drive around... or ask .....

  10. Sat Sri Akal:

Cut off ALL connections with him (if he even asks water from you, you shall not give it to him).

If others ask as to why, tell them.

Telling the family is almost too brutal...it will ruin his life (although, my hatred for this behavior would tempt me too great to do exactly that).

If you really want to bust this guy, get 5 Sikhs from the Gurudwara he goes to (by Sikh I mean amritdhari...like there is any other... ;) ) to come by the office and observe his behavior.

waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fatehh!

    waheguru jio!

I know we all have anger inside of us and its really hard to see a singh go against our waheguru jis hukam. But our guru also taught us the evils of kaam, krodh, lobh, mo, haunkar, Ninda, Chugli. The last two, expecially last one.... do we really wanna do that. LIke SINGH ji said before in his post, that they will find out or waheguru will punish him.

A lie is never kept! No matter how hard one tries, that same LIE will get bigger and bigger and one day come out. And then he will pay....

So instead of bringing yourself into the problem. You make himlook stupid... that is the best thing to be in the same office ... how you

can always to vichaar and tell him stuff. Always be a nice person dont hate him... then others will think how come singhs r like this. ONE DRINKS AND SMOKES, ONES SOO RUDE TO THE OTHER.

Be the kindest you can to this guy, every single person has guru in him, and somewhere in his body that small sound is gonna come out... guru ... guru ... GURU.

But jio, take time! WOW doesnt it ever take time... ask yourselves, were you or are we perfect. We still talkin about others right now, eventhough we dont even know the person.

I hope this is enough for 'iwannabeagursikh' i think that was your screen name rolleyes.gif ... sorry paaji!

  11. I think khalistani ji is talking about change in terms of Sikhi, such as, we were not allowed to cut hair, and we not today; we were not allowed to commit adultry, we are not today; we were not allowed to drink, and we are not today; Guru Granth Sahib Ji was our Guru, and still Guru Granth Sahib Ji is today etc. etc. If you are talking about in these terms, I fully agree with you. In this sense Sikhi should NEVER change.

However, if you are saying change in terms of technology, then I have lil problem agreeing with it. As Pheena Ji have talked about change, everything is constantly changing. When this change would stopped, the would would end. It we had the same mean of transportaion, for example, as we had 500 years ago, we may not have ended up where we are now. The chahange in technology is inevitable and we have to change according to it, and this change does not make us less sikh.

    bhul chuk di khima ;)

Just wondering ,... isnt all this just nothin though ... somethin that jamdhoot (spelling check please) has put into this world and will always put to distract us...
