  1. Fateh Ji,

Some important points raised by AK-47.

I agree with almost everything that you have said, but in this day and age almost everyone has access to a pc, and so providing a helpful medium would be advantageous.

Whoever sits on the other side of the computer should know what they are on about so that they can help others and as you mentioned professional training is a very good point…

    (self edited)

Anyway, nothing else on my part to add to this discussion, but bhul chuk maaf just in case...

  2. This is a bit of a test thing to be honest jus to see if there is a demand for interactive help like this and if you have a problem then do add the relevent account to ure messenger contacts. We will try our best to help you or point you in the right direction.

    Fateh Ji,

    This is an excellent resource.

Back in the day when Sikhawareness.com was set up, most of the Mod's there had msn adds and a lot of people who came across the forums added the Mod's for advice. Some of the situations that came up were for example,

    · Kes and dastaar at school,

    · Dealing/coping with parents who are not into Sikhi

    · Wanting to run away from home

    · Basic advice on everyday things in life in relation to Sikhi (going out with people, clubbing etc), and much more.

There are a lot of people out there who need advice, and talking to a stranger helps when talking about it, as they do not need to worry about being embarrassed by talking to people they know. If possible, try and get ids on yahoo aswell, as some people don't use/have access to msn.

I’d spoken to some people about setting something like this up, but it looks like you saved us the work tongue.gif

If you spread the word, I’m sure

you will be run off your feet with people asking for advice.

All the best with it… :TH:

  3. oh and heres some fotos from the 30th August (Mondays) Atam Ras programme in Wolverhampton... click on the link below....!

    Fateh Ji,

I have to agree with AmaN on this one. I was at the Atam Ras programme in Wolverhampton last night and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The fact that there were not dozens of people recording the same thing meant I could see the Ragi's as the view was not obstructed by camera's and people jumping up and down every few minutes.

Having been to a fair few programmes where the front end of the hall by the stage is full of cameras and people operating them, I found this experience thoroughly enjoyable.

I look forward to going again tonight

    Fateh Ji.

  4. Fateh Ji.

I just thought that I would mention that I know a Phaji in midlands that makes shastar, I posted a picture of a kirpan he made for me, in case you don't remember ( tongue.gif ), this is what it looks like

    56806407.jpg

He's also made me Kara's. One of his design is,

    56805149.jpg

He has a lot more designs and makes them out of sarbloh, steel and other metals. Although the prices vary a lot, the kara's are custom made and unique.

  5. Fateh Ji all...

I recently got myself a copy of Anand Chamatkar and though I'm nowhere near vol 4, I had a look at page 17 it to have a quick read of what Singh 47 is referring to and I don't have it in the version I have, in fact no story starts of that page.

Bhain Kaur Jee, what colour is the book? is it a red coloured book?

    Fateh Ji,

Singh 47 Paaji, Volume 4 is blue in the set that I have...

(By the way I recently purchased mine on 14/04/04)

  6. Fateh Ji all...

SIngh it starts on page 17. The story will start about the Mool Mantar debate, then it will progress onto this Sant Sujaan Singh story.
  7. Fateh Ji,

Fair point but Sikhism is a relatively young religion in comparison to Christianity so it’s no surprise that Christianity is spread all over the world. Another factor is the fact that we are not missionaries and do not go out and about promoting Sikhi, whereas in Christianity they do.

    In reference to,

“We had just one Jesus Christ and we have spread Christianity all over the world but Sikh history is full of great martyrs and yet hardly any body knows about it.”

Exactly, who other than a handful of people know of our history? To date the world has only heard of a few events/historical incidences that have taken place with the Sikhs.

I once heard someone say during a talk that ‘to date the world has only heard about and seen the negativity involved with the Sikhs, when the world comes to know about the real spirituality of the Sikhs, that’s when Sikhi will take the world by storm’.

    Bhull Chuk Maaf…

  8. "fault" not "faults"  ;)

ny1....ny ideas on how 2 attach an image ?

    rolleyes.gif

What you can do is upload the picture to a site that will host it for you, once you have done that just link it up and it will work for you.

A temporary picture hosting site check out http://www.picturetrail.com

It gives you a free intro period where they will host your pics free for a short period...

  9. Fateh Ji,

Thats a custom made kirpan that a Phaji from the Midlands (UK) made for me.  B)

    42067103.jpg

    is that style allowed? ;)

cauz i can find those styles a lot on ebay :(

    Fateh Ji,

Why would the style not be allowed ?

This krpan is based on a Pesh Kabz except for the little lip on the e

nd... Its not a khanjar, not a bichooa... Its a shastar predominently for slicing and the jagged edges work as a saw.

Hmm, I wonder why its not allowed :T:

  10. Fateh Ji,

A couple of people have asked me about the Phaji who made the kirpan for me, here is the message he asked me to give...

    hi,

Mugermach Singh here, for further details on anything please pm me on sikhawareness, I do have an account here but for some reason cannot log in.

    Please pm me at sikhawareness.com.

  11. even if you choose a veggie meal, at MacDonalds, they use the same oil to fry meat and fries.

so you're always eating a little meat.

    Fateh Ji,

I don't eat at maccies or burger king, but would like to point out that the fries are cooked seperately from all other products... The only contact they may have with meat products is if someone cooking meat handles the fries, I don't know about anywhere else, but thats the case where I'm from...

    peace

  12. Fateh Ji,

I'm kaur1699 from sikhawareness.com and would just like to comment on some of the comments made here...

    GABROO KHALISTAN DAH

these nang awarness mods have juss deleted those topic prob to keep what ever left over intregity they ahve on their forum

You don't know anything about me, I used to be a Mod there until very recently and so the comments you are making about the Mods seem like someone is just letting out some steam.

You know nothing about me or my background, I 'd be surprised if you even know my actual name so calling me names is abit childish don't you think?!

The second thing I would like to comment on is,

    Khalsa Soulja

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah sikhawareness is bahman and every1 knows it

sum1 shud suggest putting the holy cow as their official site symbol

Is that so??! I also recall you once said that the 'site smells of holy cow' and then when I specifically asked you what you meant you claimed it was a joke, I did not find that comment amusing in the least and if this is meant to be the same thing, again it has not worked for me... If you do mean it, then being

a 'bahman' is the new name to the 'names I've been called list' rolleyes.gif

A number of people from this forum in particular seem to have some wierd idea's about me and what I believe, the icing on the cake was being told that I'm 'anti-AKJ' and that its even worse because I sometimes go to 'AKJ Smagams'. Hmm anyway just to clarify and make sure everyone understands, I'm NOT part of any 'Jatha', group, organisation (or any other name for a group there may be) and I do NOT have any motives or agenda so next time before anyone decides to call me anything, just keep that in mind yea and just to make things fun try and justify why you have said it :@ .

To tell the truth I don't even know why I am writing this post, just had to get it out of my system I suppose...

    Guru Ji bless you all

    Fateh Ji
