  1. Well, the way it is seems that nobody has any hope that anything can be done to even tackle this problem at all, and we should just sit back and watch as one generation from now the effect of ONE QUARTER of Sikh girls being murdered in the womb plays out and we enter a catastrophe unprecedented in history, of a race of people killing its women to such an extent that they are wiped out.

We treat women as if they are animals and not humans. We are the worst in the world at this.

the sgpc has always let people down so how can people really belvie that they will do something now? not long ago one member of sgpc killed their own daughter.

if think we need an independant group to tackle the situation as i dont belive sgpc are capable to deal with it.

  2. Putting it on the agenda for the politicians and religious authorities in India is one thing that we can do! This is a catastrophe that needs to be stopped! Activism and put people into effect!

On a personal level we should stop dowry and get people in Gurdwara to talk about it! Get SGPC to set up an army to combat this at every level of Punjab society! Get the Punjab government to spend money and set up teams in every city and town devoted to monitoring this! Tracking down those wo perform these abortions! Putting those who do this in prison and bringing shame on them and treating every single female abortion as a crime against the whole Sikh Panth!

the idea is good but would sgpc really do this their more concerned about the money of the golaks n keeping it rather than using it so spend on issues.. the sgpcs needs to be reformed or boycotted completely

  3. would help if people can also answer these questions and keep it as a sticky on the message board for further reference when someone is asked about such questions :-)

one question i'm often asked why are their so many jathas and thus people begin to think their are different amrit to

  4. Our own worst enemies are ourshelves. we do not teach our children nothing about sikhi. Not everyone is gonig to be perfect in sikhi.

a threat to sikhi other than that is the propaganda that is put out by rss and muslims etc... this obviously can be counter attacked by good parchar.

but the muslim issue where they use rape drugs etc. is a bigger problem we seem to always put this problem under the carpet. we seem to blame the girls for being in that positstion.

the khalsa used to go and protect and bring back girls that were taken away by the mugals... but todays khalsa cant even protect is own sisters

Do we prematurely label ourselves Khalsa even though we are still so far away?. The Khalsa, the saint-soldier married to the two-fold ideal of Bhagti and Shakti, who combine self-respect with humility. Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji Maharaj, the creator of the Khalsa regarded himself as a servant of the Khalsa. The Khalsa is given a position equal to that of the Guru. The Guru consists of two parts : the body and the Name. The Guru nominated the Khalsa, as his body and Guru Granth Sahib Ji as the embodiment the Name. That is why we use the title of Guru-Khalsa.

How many of us at this point in time are truly, honestly capable of carrying the title of the Khalsa? Not me. But our direction should be to attain the qualities of the Khalsa, not to adopt the title so easily. Through the merits of the Khalsa, we will be able to comprehend the real problems and the real solutions.

agree with you completly but thats not to say just because we aint khalseh we shudnt do nothing to prevent such things

  6. we all have attachment to family, kids etc.. and is somethnig we will have to get over one day. they will not go with us in the world hereafter. this does not mean u disrespect them.

their are many parents who have kids and then absue them, beat em etc... how can that child respect or lvoe their parents then?

  7. Respecting your parents is important but if they are going against obvious gurmat teachings then they will always be confrontation... Best thing to do is explain to them if this does not work just try not to get into arguments with them and just jaap naam

  8. LOL @ how my post was edited. Oh Cmon, this is clearly a joke of a moderating team, the original poster is allowed to make a blatent assumption without any proof and that is left there, I make a post with the similar intention to show how narrow minded this topic is, and my post gets edited?

Wake up and smell the coffee, there are an equal amount of Sikh extremeists with the same mindset as any other fanatic out there, sad individuals who use religion and political agendas to hurt innocent people.

whoever they are they are terrorists, whether they be sikhs, muslims or hindus...

  9. The day we start to believe that we have enemies in the world is the day we become our worst enemies.

It's not Islam Guru Sahib fought against; it was the concept of tyranny.

its that sort of thinknig sweeping things udner the carpet because we cant be bothered to tackle the situation that is bringing the panth down we need to tackle this situation head on. Guru Sahib fought agaisnt tyranny yes ... but is this not tyranny?

  10. From my limited knowledge Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh was unable to convert Bhagat Singh and called him a egotistical man and that bhagat singh ego was the only thing seprating him from god realization.. after this bhagat singh wrote a book called why i am a athiest
"Brahm Vidya" ji thats what the Indians want us to believe, so that the credit of his shaheedi goes to "Indian'ness" and not Sikhi. I myself saw an Indian website where it says that Bhai Sahib Bhai Randheer Singh Ji was unable to change Shaheed Bhagat Singh's views, but actually Bhagat Singh did change, as is evident from the fact that he had 6 inch long kesh when he attained shaheedi. Its all detailed in Jail Chithhiyaan written by Bhai Sahib himself.

sorry i must be wrong bhai sahib i had read it i think on the sikhi wiki site

  12. Where are you from what it your family background?

well the best thing is do it in your room on your own at amritvela.. your parents will proberbkly be sleeping that time anyway.. do a sicnere ardas to akaal purakh. and also get sangat of gursikhs.

  13. Parchar can bee seen as making some issues aware to people or informing people about Sikhi , teaching people about Sikhi.

Gurbani itself is parchar as it tells a manuk about Akaal Purakh

but other forms of parchaar are Katha, talks, videos etc...

is there point in doing parchaar if you have little jeevan or knowledge yourself?

Everyones parchar is limited to what knwoledge they have themshelves ,But if someone does parchaar let them long as the parchar is not false. I no you bhai sahib have issues with people doing parchaar etc.. and you think more and more people are maknig blogs etc...

but my question to you is what is wrong with them if its helping people?

Its very easy to critize others. criticism can be positive and negative, negative criticism is destructive and harmful. Positive criticism fosters growth and development.

  14. We have this problem where we look at thhe outer apperance and see it as greater than his purity on the inside. Sikhi was started to save the world and spread the word of truth. If we say that people that do not keep kesh or where a turban are not allowed to do seva this can actuualy drive them away. We have Granthi Singh, Kirtani's etc.. that were baana wear dastaar do seva of Guru Granth Sahib but they themshelves commit bujjer kurriets.

Is Guru Granth Sahib just the Gurus of people that keep kesh and have taken amrit? No
