Although Baba Banda Singh Bahadur may not have had darshan of Dasam Guru Granth Sahib as a saroop , no doubt he had access to the main bani in it , which forms part of the nitnem , ardass and so on. When you mention the Sikhs of the 1980s , these people were infused wiv bir rass because of saint soldiers like Sant Jarnail Singh. If only we had someone like him today. May Akal bless those fine young men who gave thier lives for the freedom of the Sikh nation. May Akal bless us wiv the same spirit that we may be able to one day reach thier standards.

If its the "official " Taksal you are after then your searching will be much easier, cos there are many branches of the Taksal , some centuries old and some decades old. Its depends on yourself who you see as the Taksal. Some branhes of the Taksal do not interact much with each other. In ther Uk the only person I can think of is Giani Pritam Singh who has links with the jatha of Bhindran and the jatha of Bhindran Mehta. He lives in Southall. Failing that go to Panjab, to sato wlai galli in Amritsar or mehta or bhindran.

Sant jarnail Singh in his speeches stated that this taksal known popurlarly as the Taksalof Bhindra Mehat was first led by baba Deep Singh Jee. the Taksal themselves originally was in 2 jatha , one the damdama taksal of Baba Deep Singh and the Amritsar Taksal of Bhai Mani Singh. As far I know these two were the only Taksals started, although now I have a list of about 12 jathas of the Taksal branches, where studetns have branched out into other areas around Panjab and continued the tradition of teaching arth of guru Maharaj. No doubt the most heard of is the Taksal jatha now led by Baba Harnam Singh of Bhindran Mehta. Others taksal branches are more well known in thier localities. The Taksal deffo needs to step up its activities gieven the situation in Panjab these days, but from what I seen and heard of them they seem to be going thru a crisis, with internal splits and things. Hope they sort themselves out soon. The respected Giani Satnam Singh at our gurdwara said before commencing his katha, that " sangat Ji, I will only relay what the Guru has written for you, and after listening to it only then if you accept it, you may deposit maya on the stage, which will be used for gurmat parchaar. However I dont want anyone who isnt prepared to listen to what I say with an open mind offering maya just because others are doing so . " this i was very glad to hear. We need more people like this.

at the end of the day, I can only try to follow what my Guru has told me, and that is that idol worship is useless. man cannot create God thapia na jae. if someone believe that they can achieve union with the Lord through an idol, then what can you do? The Word is the true way to union. Gur ki murat shabad jane, the murat of the Guru is the WORD. dont get inot a sweat over it brothers, just keep following the word, and preaching Sikhi.

Initialy it was called Dasmey Patshah ka Granth = Volume of the tenth Guru. which was shortened to Dasam Guru Granth .

If you want to ask Niddar Singh about his views, go to a place where he holds his shastarvidya classes. he will always take time out to talk to you. Ask him your questions abouts certain things he has stasted , like I did, and he will answer them. I never perceived any threat of violence from him, as i was told i would, but probably becasue i approached as someone wanting answers rather than a confrontation. He has always been well-mannered in his talking. AND before you ask, Im not a Niddar Singh fan. I do respect some of the things he stands for but certain things i dislike. Go and talk to him, he's in enough places up and down the uk. then report back to this site on what you think.

lol fixing a road just covers up the bigger problems underneath - its just a cover up to make out that your doin a good job. Punjab needs a wholly good person not someone who's courupt ( i know thats whats every1's thinkin lol) but its the truth. People make out as if these people are democratically voted in. Badal was the chief minister in punjab in 1978. His akali counterparts in the punjab govt did not want the nirankaris to have thier meeting in amritsar. however the jan sangh colation partner of the akali in the same govt were in favour of the nirankaris having thier meeting in amritsar. they wannred badal that they would break the coalotion and therefore the punjab govt so he would lkose his cheif ministership if he went against the nirankaris. si in ordeer to save his chief minister ship he allowed the meeting to take place, and you all know what happened. he totallyt sold out the panthat that time, and the niranakari baba used a gvt vuehicle to escape amritsar, which badal knew of but kept queit.

what jassa is saying is correct. but his point is about knowledge or lack of it when it comes to Sikhi. lets say you have a 20 yera old who bows to Guru Jee, but understands nothing about Guru Ji. Then you give him the knowledgde and he understand about Guru Ji, so now the worship is on a higher level. He understands the Word. He douznt treat Guru Ji like a idol no more. Now take a 20 yera old hindu who worships murti, he dont know why he worship it, then if you tell him that this is what idol worship is about, do you think he will stop it? Unlikely. he will just carry on. Thats is the difference Jaasa.

Aad Guru Darbar is our Guru. No-one cept Naamdharis deny that. But Dasam Guru Darbar is also our Guru. Without the teachings of which Sikhi would be completely different. Also forgive me in my last post i omitted that fact that Akali Nihang Guru Gobind Singh Jee's bani, which we know today as Dasam Guru Darbar, was already collected together in a granth. This Granth along with Vidya Sar Granth( pool of knowledge) along with other valuable manuscripts was lost crossing the Sirsa River when the Sikhs evacuated Anandpur Sahib. So the binding of the Dasam Guru Darbar was arranged before the binding of the Aad Guru Darbar, which may explain why Akali Nihang Guru Gobind Singh Jee did not include his own bani in Aad Guru Darbar at a later date.

At the time of Akali Nihang Guru Gobind Singh Jee's samai, the saroop of Dasam Guru Darbar was not in one volume. So Guru Maharaaj could not have given gurgaddi to the Dasam Guru Darbar at the time. Bhai Mani Singh after 16 years of searching for the bani of Guru Ji collected it and presented it to the Guru-panth. The Guru Panth accepted the Granth and henceforth prakash was done alongside Aad Guru Darbar. From then on it was not seperated, until the times of the Sgpc. And what a loss it has been for the panth,. very few gurdwaras have Dasam Guru Darbar present. Also when Amrit sanchaar was done, both Aad Guru Darbar And Dasam Guru Darbar were present. Now only Aad Guru Darbar is present unless you go to the Nihnag Singhs or the Taksal.
