I see no stranger, I see no enemy

Wherever I look, God is all I see

I don't think of us and them

No one do I hate or condemn

    I see God's image - each one a friend.

Of any religion, caste or race

All I see is God's shining face

His smiling face, His gracious face.

Accept as beautiful all His design

I learnt this truth in sangat divine

One Word resounds in me and you

    Waheguru . Waheguru .

..In him, in her, in me and you

    Waheguru . Waheguru .

Beholding in every being His light

I bloom like a flower in joy and delight.

    Riding the Tiger

India, 1984: An Eyewitness Account -- written and produced by Michael Singh

    A Personal Account

Based on original 16mm footage and audio recordings made in 1984 by Surinder and Michael Singh - American brothers of Dutch, German and Sikh heritage - “Riding the Tiger” will be the first eye-witness documentary film to chronicle the anti-Sikh violence that erupted in New Delhi in November, 1984. more

    Funding

The 20th anniversary of this event will heighten interest in what really happened in 1984. To complete this film by November, 2004, shooting must begin this winter. The cost of this initial stage, including Indian crew and organizers, is $32,000 . Following an enthused and emotional screening in October, 2003, of segments of “Riding the Tiger” at Toronto’s Spinning Wheel Film Festival, we have raised $8,500 of that $32,000 (Thank you very much, supporters!!) The initial stage of this project is being funded by grassroots support. We are relying on YOUR contribution. How to give.

    Broadcast

“Riding the Tiger” is targeted for an international audience, ranging from the PBS network in the United States, to Channel 4 in Britain, and various broadcast venues throughout Asia and the Far East.

    Themes

The filmmaker's observations as a half-Sikh will cover issues of ethnic identity, bravery, cowardice, mob violence, media coverage, justice and the writing of Sikh history. Augmenting his views will be fresh interviews with the fami

lies who shared his experience with him.

    Live Recordings

These are live voices recorded on November 1, 1984, by filmmaker Michael Singh, before and during a massacre of Sikhs a few yards away, near a prominent New Delhi gurudwara. Turn your PC speakers on and click a link below.

I agree with Sandeep Kaur Ji,

Imagine we getting khalistan in the present state of panth and punjab.Who will be prime minister:Badal.who will be president:Tohra.who will be jathedar of akal takht:someone chosen by badal or tohra.

how many trues sikhs will punjab have:not a very good number given present state of punjab.

We need to put some thought into things before we shout "khalistan zindabad" just for the heck of it.

Yes we all have in our heart of hearts a desire for our own homeland. But just shouting it loud and doing things without getting our life on track of sikhi just shows khalistanis in bad light.I want to see a day when all shouting "khalistan zindabad" or doing anything to support this cause are at least amrithari.

And then if we say that we can be pooran gursikhs only if we have khalistan then its nothing but a lame excuse. We can have sikhi life anywhere bcos waheguru is everywhere equally.

Everything is in Gurus will if we dont have our own raaj today, may its for some purpose. Before we do or say things for khalistan lets first become khalsas. It will make more sense then.

    apologies for anything said wrong.

    Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

First of all I would request sangat to not label anyone before its confirmed. What if this sikh is not a kala afgana supporter.

I would wait for further comments on this.

    Now for rochak veer(chota bhra rolleyes.gif ):

I agree with you that there are so many miscreants who have crept into sikhi ,some of them have misguided so many people. And I understand how it makes things difficult for new entrants into sikhi, and sometimes it makes things difficult for sikhs as well.

I have myself been very troubled sometimes bcos of such things. But then turning to Gurbani and simran releives. If we set out to analyse sikhi before anything else,we are bound to be confused and we loose patience.Instead what we should do is first do the very basics of sikhi with love and faith,do humble ardaas to Guru for guidance and things start to fall in place so naturally and then such distractions seem very small in front of the truth, the ultimate truth which is explained in our Guru SGGS.May be when we have reached a certain stage in Sikhi (I mean kamai of sikhi not the bookish knowledge) we can start digging deeper into things.I have seen people struggling to explain certain things in SGGS without ever understanding the meaning of mool mantar, without ever doing simran, without ever doing nitnem, without ever following rehat. Its no surprise that they break their head over things.

So my suggestion to you or any other entrant into sikhi or even the one who are already int

o sikhi,is that please dont feel down just bcos certain misled people are creating trouble.U said its hard to identify such miscreants, once you are following sikh ways its very easy to identify a Gursikh or a miscreant, you will know who is fake and who is not and even if you cant its no real harm as long as you attach to Guru and not to the person. Why do we have to get someone between ourselves and our Guru, why dont we just submit to guru and do what he asks us to do? why do we need a third person to tell us anything? We might take direction or some guidance from someone but we dont have to depend on that person more than that.We dont have to be troubled to see some miscreant doing wrong as far as our connection with guru is concerned. Our conciousness has to be led only by Guru and Gurbani.

Everything is made simple once we by Gurus grace start to walk this path.

So its up to us whther we want a direct connection with Guru through Amrit,Naam,Guru,Gurbani or we want to keep looking at some people who are doing things wrong and get disillusioned. My ardas to Guru is to give everyone strngth to start of on this path and show them His beauty before they fall in traps of mind.

please forgive me for anything said wrongly for I am also a mere starter in sikhi.

I am currently reading this book in Gurmukhi .

Its a rare piece of work where Bhai Sahibs expereinces are written through letters by himself. and I think every sikh should read this book.

Sikhs like Bhai Sahib are life and blood of sikhi.

And gurleen K ji ,you are doing great sewa of sikhi by spreading message of sikhi through this book. ^_^

    May waheguru bless you .
