  1. since two weeks now i've been going to this new sikh youth group. so far it's mainly like just a lecture about some of the meanings of the gurbani. does anyone have any ideas for topics we can discuss or something where everyone would be more involved? if u have been to some type of sikh camp or group could u please share some of the things u did

  2. as long as u dont MEAN it in a certain way u can do it. like if someone stuck up their middle finger but didnt know what it meant then that should be fine. the things we do and say dont always have the same depth in meaning. like if u say "i 'love' that guy" u may have any level of "love" towards something

  3. of course sikhs are not responsible. it's not true that sikh kids are not disciplined. that's just <admin-cut> and lots of people talk <admin-cut> u should just ignore because only the TRUTH matters! stereotyping is never right because each individual is different not groupable. For example, there are scientists, actors, and different talents from all parts of the world not just certain types of people are good at the same thing

  4. flowing beards look the best to me. :D )

but my case is different because i'm a girl and i dont wear a turban like boys do. why is it so rare for girls to wear keshkis but much more common for boys to wear turbans and patkas? not that i would only do what's common but it is still annoying how there's so much difference in standards for males and females.

  5. :D @ geez i already regret not staying so much. i dont know what was wrong with me. i really enjoyed the part i saw and thought the translations were the best part. hopefully they start doing that more

  6. Jessica see if u can download these files, try to download the first one. The Singh sahib who sings the shabads Does the katha and everything in English in both of the Mp3's. He encourages children to sing as well, in the shabads.

Sri Guru Singh Sabha Youth Wing - Singapore

Samelan 2001 Jou Tuo Prem Khellan Ka Chao - 58.8 MB

Samelan 2002 Satgur Aayoh Sharan Tuharee - 34.1 MB

These Mp3 Files contain Kirtan done by Young Children and a Singh ji. During the Kirtan Bhai sahib tell the Children of Sikh History and ask questtions.

    amardeep, that wasn't english :D

  7. thanks for the link mkhalsa. they did this special all night thing at a gurdwara here but i didn't stay more than two hours and now i really regret it. my mom and grandma stayed all night. they were doing keertan the whole time and the shabad's were displayed on a big screen with translations. oh and this waheguroo network had something to do with the translations because i saw this logo on the computer they were using. now i have to wait till next year.

sikhforlife, yea i feel ashamed of some rap i listen to but i dont take it the wrong way and some stuff they say may mean something else but i make a better meaning out of it. For example, "i get high" i think of it as just feeling energized or something.

  8. whoever treats the newspaper wrong would pay the consequences but if u respect it the way you believe you should than you'll benefit so actually i think it's okay to have the hukamnama in the paper because some people will get something good from it while if it was not there nobody gets anything.

  9. vaheguroo jee

gurmukh pyaarool...beautiful example....makes perfect sense and i beileve applies too all over us one way or another....

i personally do not liten to music..and even when i work out, i listen to some fast keetan!!! wubb.gif ..lol..to get y blood pumpin and that always seems to work..

the reason i dont listen to musis, is first, i have no desire to listen to it..and secnd is becase that when listen t it, i am wasting my time and could be listenin to gurbani and learn something useful.....

    just my two cents ^_^

    vaheguroo jee

so u totally unerstand everything they say in gurbani?

  10. how do u guys do naam sirman? like at what pace and do you do it with a tape? i learned to do it like in your breath so inhale"wahe" and exhale "guru". during the day it's supposed to be like background music in your head and you should do it out loud at least every night. the baba that tought this called it naam abyass and his site is at <admin-cut>
