  1. vaheguroojikakhalsavaheguroojikifateh jeeo A thought that I've had at the back of my mind for a while now... are there no contemporary paintings of well known sikh figures from the past? The issue of portraits of Guru Sahib is a different one, but I find it hard to believe that no one, for example the Mughals, would not make any paintings of their most wanted enemies such as Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, Baba Deep Singh Ji, or of the executions that they carried out, e.g. Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh Ji or Bhai Taru Singh Ji. Does anyone know what the deal with this is? I am also curious that none of our historians made any paintings themselves, would Sikhs not have made paintings of great gurmukhs such as Bhai Gurdas? I can only imagine on this point that perhaps Sikhs were very firm on not making any depictions of people. What are the earliest depictions of Sikhs that we have?
