  1. philosophy is belief's which Sikh philosophies have empowered your life? one thing I love about Sikhism is that its philosophy can be applied by agnostics and atheists to empower them many agnostics and atheists find certain philosophies in different religions empowering with out believing in the miracle or god part of the religion like Thomas Jefferson did not believe in a higher power but he did believes in many Christian philosophies that help empower people and society for example power of charity in uplifting a society their are 6 emotional needs that drive human behaviour 1. certainty example having shelter food water 2. uncertainty which is change something knew to stimulate you for example you watch the same movie over and over you will get bored of that movie 3. significance feeling unique special needed 4. love and relationships a close feeling of closeness or a strong bond with other humans be it family friends who ever 5. growth expanding are capacity for example when you over come a challenge and grow your brain releases dopamine which gives you a high 6. contribution through uplifting others or helping others contribution is huge I could write a dozen essays on how different aspects of Sikh philosophy help people meet their emotional needs but ill just keep it short by focusing on the basics which will also explain why sikhi can empower agnostics and atheists the philosophy of the khalsa brother and sister hood during the 1700's helps meet each human emotional need which is what help drive so many hindus to leave Hinduism and covert to Sikhism especially at a point when converting to Sikhism got you killed certainty khalsa brother hood and sisterhood provided this cause each Sikh is to look after their fellow human being provide them shelter food water to take care one another uncertainty the khalsa brotherhood and sisterhood required Sikhs to stand up to evil and not stand for the status quo but push for change in improving human rights significance each member of the khalsa brotherhood and sisterhood plays a huge role in helping move humanity forward and their are many people suffering in desperate need for their help love and relationships being part of a khalsa brotherhood and sisterhood meant being part of a large family that would accept and love you growth one of the most important philosophies of the khalsa brotherhood and sisterhood is to learn and grow the term Sikh means to learn to constantly challenge are mind to break down mental barriers and always question everything and to learn and keep an open mind to knowledge and to push yourself mentally and physically out of your comfort zone to achieve mental and physical growth facing adversity and meditation were some of the many factors that helped Sikhs grow in the 1700's training as saint soldiers helped push Sikhs physical boundaries in the 1700's contribution khalsa brotherhood and sisterhood is all about contribution and uplifting each other and standing up for each other against injustices biggest thing a lot of people leave out of Sikh teachings is that all humans are connected and god is within everyone and that unconditional love for your fellow human being is one of the ultimate ways to reach god and happiness why did people love their horses so much in the 1700's and even thousands of years ago or today why do some people love their dogs more then their kids cause these animals love their owners unconditionally which causes the human being to love the animal back amount of focus of unconditional love that was practised by the gurus and the amount of energy they made their followers focus on loving their fellow human beings unconditionally is what led to many Sikhs to develop the conviction so strong that they could take on torture and not break many atheists who were involved in communist revolutions gave up their lives and went to prison were they were tortured and never broke and they gained the mental strength to do this cause of the conviction they had to uplift their fellow human being examples of atheist communist who did this are sukhdev and rajguru who were hung next to bhagat singh another beautiful part of Sikh philosophy is that sikhi means to learn and grow cause if you want to feel alive and not depressed or bored and so on you need to push yourself to learn and grow every day in every aspect of your life from spirituality to your relationships with friends and family to your physical health WHAT ASPECTS OF SIKH PHILOSOPHY INSPIRE AND EMPOWER YOU AND WHAT ASPECtS OF SIKH PHILOSOPHY DO YOU BELIEVE HELP EMPOWER PEOPLE DURING THE 1700'S TO TAKE ON AND DEFEAT OVER WELMING ODDS LIKE ISLAMIC TERRORISM FROM THE TURKS OF THE MUGHAL EMPIRE AND THE AFGHANS
