What if in 1947 Master Tara Singh had said yes to an independent Sikh/Punjabi state.? where would we be today? lets assume this country would be called Khalistan. It would compromise the states of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana which would make it a Hindu majority Country in which case it will be a secular state with Sikh values firmly implemented. Amritsar would be given the holy city status and no alcohol in this cit would be allowed. Khalistan would have all basis covered for its economic gain. Punjab would offer the agricultural, Himachal Pradesh will offer tourism, Haryana would be the manufacturing and IT Hub of Khalistan. As well as having a diverse terrain with green fertile fields, rivers, lakes, Mountains, Hill station cities like Simla the people of Khalistan would be diverse especially in deep Himachal Pradesh who will be more closer with Chinese then Khalistanis but that will be ok as we welcome diversity. Would Khalistan be a developed nation with good infostructure, low poverty rate along with a reduced corruption? we all know how hard Punjabi's work, we all know how Punjab was one time the richest most forward state in India. so we could say Khalistan could be the South Asian dream where everyone has the opportunity to make money and lead a better life (aka like the UK , USA) would we even need to live in the UK ? when we could be living it large in our country? Problems with this Khalistan version could be dealing with Hindu jats in Haryana who could protest and demand a separate state away from Khalistan. What would your version of Khalistan be like ?
