Hello all 1. Getting up in the morning: I have a shower but sometimes reluctant to have a shower, as I have gym and other tasks during the day after which I shower. If i go to gym in the morning, it is too late to do path etc. Can one have a shower during the day or is it a must for early morning. 2. Path from Sanchiyan. What is the protocol. Do we do parkash and sukh asan of sanchiyan as we do for Guru Granth Sahib ji. Can you share your experiences.

I wonder if we can work together to produce a sort of idea of what Sikhi is like in various countries around world. Especially out of india. Things like - how much sangat seem serious about sikhi - regular gurdwara, Sikhi saroop etc - youth interest in sikhi - availability to learn gurmukhi, santhiya, kirtan, gatka etc - amount of community engagements like nagar kirtan, hola mahala gathering, major yearly smagms, sikhi camps - any places doing especially good job keeping sikhi alive we can learn ideas from?

I have a question for someone knowledgeable. If a Sikh doesn’t believe in the dasam Granth or sarbloth Granth but does believe in the SGGS, is he still considered a Sikh? i ask because if someone has an issue with the Ragmala even though it’s in the SGGS, they are still sikhs so there shouldn’t be an issue with the other two Granth right ?

At least 3 Gurdwaras management committees in bradford have announced they are closing Gurdwaras till further notice due to coronavirus. Despite the government saying they can remain open for communal worshiping. This includes not even being allowed to do darshan. Do you think true Khalsa would do this?

Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it. -
Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. A final possibility is he's a weak Sikh who was asked a question by a non-Sikh and now he's suddenly feverishly wondering where it's "written" that you can't marry a young child. To the latter, I would say, you're looking in the wrong spot. Gurbani isn't a 1428 page rulebook, like Leviticus or the Vedas: ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਾਪ ਬੀਚਾਰਦੇ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ The Simritis and Shastras discriminate between charity and sin, but know not the essence of the Real Thing. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well.
