just wondering about whether Amritdhari Sikhs can eat meat or not?

I have read in Sikh Rehit Maryada books approved by SGPC that Sikhs are not to eat meat that is Halal (killed and cut the Muslim way). What about meat that is cut the Sikh way, I mean how the Gurus said it should be done, a quick clean cut :T: ?

Other thing is, if we are NOT supposed to eat meat, i don't get that because some of our Gurus used to go on Shikaar and hunting and ate meat :T: . My source on that is my Babaji who read that in one of our books at home. Also a story about Maado Das ji who was a vegetarian and then I forget which Guru it was but he changed this dude's name to whatever it was before to Maado Das ji when he began eating meat after they went on Shikaar. Someone correct me cuz I know I have errors in this story of Maado Das ji probably.

I am currently in that situation. I wear all 5 kakars but have not taken Amrit. I hope to take Amrit soon and am getting myself ready.

This is bad ppl I am against celebrations like Lohri because those put importance on the son and not on daughters, but remember in Sikhi females are equal to males, read my sig below taken from SGGS...

Also, just on a side note about how sexist some ppl are...I was born a month after my cousin sis and when my Dadi ji got the letter in India about a second girl (me) she was not happy at all. This angers me :wub: cuz my Dadi wanted a grandson and not me :wub: @ :lol: @ :lol: @

I just can't express how much I HATE @ @ @ what is going on with the youth that has strayed from Sikhi. Rap is one of most popular music in western world and it has no positive messages: all about drinking, drugs, sex, and words used to DEGRADE women. Unfortunatley, our youth love this music and are heavily influenced by it. What can I say about other youth? My own brother younger than me thinks I am a LOW LIFERinterested in Sikhi :wub: @ :wub: @ . Here I am trying to learn more about Sikhi, learn about what my Nana ji devoted his life to as a Granthi, and my own brother is telling me this is a load of BS. We have a video, of how there's dancing going on in the gurdwara, this fake baba    is sitting on a chair in front of Guru Granth Sahib ji, has servants around him, and most people have their backs to Guru Granth Sahib ji and face to this pakhandi baba.

I'm not amritdhari ( ) nor do I keep a kirpan on my person, but if you're going to have a kirpan on you it might as well be a sharp one or there's no point in carrying it if it can't be used in an emergency.

Also, a friend of a friend was asking whether going around the SGGS during Laavan is necessary? He thinks standing (or sitting in one place in front) is all that is required and no point in actually going around 4 times.

Of the 3 guys that were killed in the san jose shooting, one man was my Mami ji's Masar ji...don't remember his name as I have never met him probably. he just retired and got his first social security check, it was sad to hear that...

Sikhi today is in great danger

Sikhi in danger cuz it don't look attractive to the youth out there that is whitewashed (ABCD, CBCD, EngBCD, etc) Our dilemma is: how to make Sikhi attractive so ppl come back to it and learn more about it, understand it etc.
