  1. I think before I speak ... I'm sorry if you didn't like what I said, but youtube dose not care. Go read the thread about video's against Sikhism we flagged the videos like 200 times nothing happen we sent e-mails nothing happen if you think you can do something do it and don't post here and aspect us to do the work.....

    Bin there done that :p

    You wanna try go ahead

Surely its our duty to make youtube care? ...the more proactive we are on the web AND in person the better it will be for the Panth no?

Its a sad state of affairs when Singhs, Singhnis brush open attacks like this off like it was nothing.

I cant believe how bad things are at the moment... We have the cheek to calls ourselfs Sikhs of our Guru? Or have we been there and done that too... time to move on now?

  2. Im glad we finally have someone who stood up for themselve and their own beliefs.

Good on Singh (im sure im gonna get alot of people having a go at me now... but ive grown to get used to it).

It doesnt matter what your friends say. You did what you needed to do, and now i doubt these chavs will be saying anything again.

Listen to bani, further your Sikhi.

    Well done again.

  3. And what about verbal bullying/attacks? Sikhs nowadays just sit down and take it regardless to what they are being attacked about.

My parents both dont agree with fighting but if your being punched in the face the last thing you should be worrying about is "What will mummy and daddy think?" Your gonna have some serious injuries if thats the case. I wouldnt know what to do with myself if i allowed myself to go home after i got beaten up and not fighting back.

A little bit of self defence is key, as is education about Sikhi - we must keep both the Sant AND the Sipahi aspect of sikhi... for without it, what are we?

  4. Thanks for that Link Veer Ji

I read a couple of posts (not all) - what i can see is if the car is in your name and the policy holder is a parent then its a possible case of fronting - but ive covered that aspect of it and have had the car put into my dads name - although the car was paid for myself and i pay insurance and all maintenance - but its still in his name. Surely that cant be fronting? (Well it clearly is but legally i ask...)

  5. Fraud? My paperwork all state that i am the Main Driver on my policy and that my Father Drives his own vehicle for which he is the Policy Holder with no named drivers (both cars with one company).

Surely they would have notified me of that when taking out the policies?

(Its a genuine question and not an attack - thought id make that clear because of the attacks ive seen in the past :/ )

  6. Get yourself insured as a named driver

I know you want to get the NCD growing but that can wait i spose.

Im 19 and drive a BMW and pay 1400 as a named driver... next year im going to try to put my name as the policy holder and get my NCD started.

    More Than are good

Try www.gocompare.com i always use them

  7. Fateh Khalistani Ji

I dont believe any apps are available on the Symbian OS yet (i mite be wrong but i cant remember any off the top of my head)

However im sure Symbian OS includes a PDF reader - so you may be able to collect a few PDF files and view Bani that way

  8. Firstly i must say i am absolutely disgusted to have you as a brother.

Yes i do mix within the Bhatra community - Yes i know the stereotypes set on the community. But to blacken the faces of all members of the "community"?

You my brother are a disgrace. If you had even one slightest bit of sense you would join the "community" and share your views. Im sure you are here under a secondary alias as i remember so clearly another member and his mother having these issues with Bhatre.

Open your mouth and share your issues with the community - not with a forum.

  9. You talk about segregation of women and men in the Bhatra community - but you are clearly segerating "Bhatre Sikhs" and "Jatt Sikhs" in your above post? Whats the difference between a "Jatt Sikh" and a "Bhatra Sikh"? or maybe even a "Tharkan Sikh" etc? Only one has the ability and the temperament to be a GurSikh? I think not. This is the biggest flaw in our Panth - Caste bashing. I was born a Sikh and i will leave this earth Sikh.

If you thought the situation was so distressing, why did you not consult a leading commitee member of the GuruGhar in question? Or maybe even a member of the "Community" in question? But instead you come online and tell everyone else about your distress? Its more proactive to deal with these issues head on and not wait X amount of days after the situation you've been placed in has finished.

Petty issues such as where men and women choose where and how to sit are what are destroying the Panth. If we carry on as we are right now - how long do you think Sikhi will survive? A huge number of our youth already have little or no knowledge about Sikh History.

Its up to us afterall to better the Panth afterall, no? To better educate OURSELVES and THEN OTHERS isnt a key aspect within Sikhi, no?

My family have never had Anand Karaj after noon but because a select few does then the whole Bhatra community are to be blamed?

Get up and help the Panth rather than posting your bad experiences online. Make a difference. If You and I dont do it who will? Nobody.

  10. As someone from bhatra community i can provide you with facts rather than hearsay. Firstly, in practically every wedding that i have gone in my community women have made up more than half of the barat. There is no such thing as bhatra women arent allowed to do this etc. The only thing i have seen is that women tend to party separate from men. So at the reception the hall is usually divided into two portions, one for men and other for women (would you want your family member dancing with other drunken baratis?). This is the only segregation at wedding. At gurdwara there is the usual divide, women on the left, men on the right.

I just dont know how you can conclude from a hindu sounding name that sikhi in bhatra community is a male thing.

So a typical Bhatra wedding is no different than any other caste in punjabi culture. Usually there are atleast 4 - 5 coaches. 3 ish for women and 2 for men. Bhatra barats (janj not jang) are ALWAYS late. so even though the card says the anand karaj will be at 3pm. You can easily expect it to be between 5pm - 6pm. There is NO superstition behind this. Its just that barats are always late in my community.

Finally about the english breakfast, serving meat in the gurdwara langar hall. This was done in the past and may still be carried out at some Bhatra gurdwaras but as far as i know, there has been a major reform in my community regarding this and all the gurdwares i know about have stopped serving meat. I would suggest that everyone who gets invited to weddings where they serve meat in the gurdwara raise the alarm and name and shame such gurdwaras.

I was just about to write pretty much the same thing as Balait Veer Ji.

Theres been alot been said about Bhatre recently but not enough being said on how we can all get together and deal with the core issues of the Panth.

Once the core issues are dealt with everything else will follow suit.

  11. Gursikh Singh,

Have you had Khande-Pahul by Panj Pyareh? Do you believe in Panj Pyareh? Do you believe in Panj Baneeaa of Amrit Sanchaar (Jap Jee Sahib, Jaap Sahib, Tv Prasad Svayai Sahib, Chopai Sahib, Anand Sahib)? Do you believe in Panj Kakaars? Do you believe in getting up Amrit Vela (3 hours before Sunrise) to do Ishnaan, Simran, Nitnem? Do you believe in Dasam Bani? Do you believe in Saheedi of Guru Arjan Dev Jee - that He Smiled during His entire Martyrdom? Do you believe in Simran Abyaas (Set period of time for Meditation on the Gurmantar)?

I ask these questions, because your style of writing and negative one-line comments with emoticons seem to resemble others on other message boards that are against the Concept of Khalsa and the Rehat, and against the teachings of Panj Pyareh as bestowed by Groups such as Taksaal, AKJ and even SGPC.

Are you a sympathizer or promoter of elements that are against the Bani of Guru Gobind Singh?

    Waheguroooo
