If the budget is available then id suggest the EX58 board with i7 merely for the fact that its futureproof (for lack of a better word)

but if not, the Q/C is sufficient enough to carry out these tasks

He will be Burning, Ripping, Watching and Streaming HD Movies... firstly 256mb gfx card would be absolutely pants for this.

Secondly i7 has a different architecture than Quad Core processor and is more faster and capable of such tasks and more.

Ive actually built a i7 with a £400 4gb GDDR3 gfx card lol - but that was jus OTT but meh - customer asked for it lol

mmmmm dell are value for money but the only way they can do that is to strip certain chips off of components - so they make em "less adequate". thats the only way they can obtain parts cheap enough to make a profit

aside from that i like dell but not for power machines... custom build all the way for that

nVidia cards are good - fairly similar to GeForce, but i use GeForce more so... not a preference but its jus i use them more often

the more cache the faster the processing speed. cache is like a type of memory - the more the better

Also - with regards to i7, i have built a few beastly gaming machines with i7 processors recently for a client, they have improved the archictecture immensely recently and its very stable and works a charm... so dont rule it out, its just a matter of you being prepared to try it out.

Add me on msn if you want to talk further about i7 and other hardware - i have in depth and strong hardware and software knowledge and have been working the field for a few years.

Id be more than happy to give you any advise if needed

Education system is madness. Where abouts are you from?

For us its 12 compulsory years - 14 years to get into uni and then average degree is 3 years and masters is +1 year and PHd can take as long as u need :|

Uk schools are easier than Us :|

Nursery and Yrs 1-6 are Primary School (Lower School)

Years 7 - 11 Are Secondary School (High School)

Years 12 and 13 are either Sixth Form or College

Then Uni Degree

I used to work saturdays in my old job but i was only workin part time cos of uni - now that im on a break im working full time (Mon-Fri)

Happy days. I no longer need to fret about my soon to be born munda. No need to spend money on rumahals either. The topic is not quite as pointless as DSH, but then again very little is.

It could be because many of you are kids yourselves so have not given any thought to what your children and your childrens peers might or might not do.

I married a year and a half ago and we are expecting our first baby in August (its gonna be a boy)...and so obviously it is important to me that my child doesn't copy the bhatra way and go to school with a 'virtual' nanga sirh.

And thats simply the point I was making here. Its obviously gone over most of your heads but I personally feel it is wrong that a large section of British Sikhs (the bhatras) are sending their kids to school etc with nanga sirh...virtually. My mother is absolutely right to find it insulting.

Also........and this is only connected loosely.....but whenever she has got talking to the grandmothers of the bhatra sikh kids in my nephews school, she has found that many of the grandmothers have names such as 'Kamla Devi' or Sunita Rani'. She found that it is common for many of the male bhatra folks from Britain to go back to Delhi to marry, and when there, they inter marry with suitable hindus. They have told her this themselves, while covered in gypsy ghold regalia and rings through their noses. I know people here love jatt bashing....but I think its worth noting how the chamars classify themselves as hindus....the bhatras regularly marry Kamla Devi's...and the khatri and Arora sikhs here in west London via Afghanistan marry their first cousins.

Bhatre dont openly get married to "suitable hindus", no matter what these select few say, its an incorrect stereotype. And yes i do know.

All this could easily be resolved if we all looked past caste. Theres no ekta within the panth and its all because of caste. Your mum could easily go to the parents of these kids and explain to them this issue... that way she wouldnt need to have her "blood boil".

The windows installation disc allows for disk management so its not necessary to FDISK first.
