  1. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

I saw someone checking this old topic out, and it brought back some bad memories. The last I heard, a banqueting hall was going to be built on the old site for the Ramgharia Sikh Community centre.

The 40 Saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji have all dissappeared. Some were taken to Southall and the others cannot be accounted for.

The issue was highlighted to Jathedar Joginder Singh Vedanti during his latest visit.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

  2. I think you have got your facts wrong. The photos were not taken above the Sachkhand but beside it. The Sachkhand is on the top floor. You can't get above it because there is a dome on the top of the room.

Feel free to check out the photos on http://www.karamsar.co.uk/ to see what i mean.

It's quite clear that you guys have decided to make Gurdwara Karamsar your next target. Knock yourself out. How pathetic!

    Sat1176,

We can argue that technically the couple are not directly above the Sachkhand by showing diagrams and stating measurements etc. But what the pictures clearly show is the lack of respect people have for the Gurdwara Sahib. The fact that the Gurdwara Sahib has been used as a backdrop for bollywood style pictures and is being allowed to by the committee or the resident mahapursh is pretty upsetting.

If the only reason the couple used the Gurdwara Sahib was to enhance their photo album then in my eyes they might as well stand above the Sachkhand regardless of any dome.

I can envisage the Karamsar defence team coming on-line to defend the honour of Karamsar. But all I am going to say is that as Gurdwara Karamsar is linked to a lineage of Mahapurash’s, then they are expected to promote a better understanding of how a Gurmat Anand Karaj should be conducted.

  3. ARE YOU TALKIN about the jathedar that gave Bhai Simran Jit Singh Mann a tankhia, and nothing happened to badal?

The sameJathedar that holds meetings with RSS?

THe same jatehdar that is a moorakh..he is no jathedar.

:D Yh i agree I dnt have an ounce of respect 4 him hes Badals poodle Singhs in Panjab liberate Sri Akal Thakt 4rm these lazy moorakhs

I can't really argue with your points as they are pretty valid. But Sri Akal Takht Sahib is still our seat of authority established by Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji Maharaj. It is really up to us to re-establish the standing that Sri Akal Takht Sahib should have in the Global Sikh World. It's up to us to ensure whoever is given the Jathedar sewa is supported and even monitored by the true Sadh Sangat. We need to clean out the corruption ourselves because no one else is going to do it. Boycotting Sri Akal Takht Sahib is not going to solve the problem.

  4. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

On 16 July 2006, the Sikh community from around the UK once again gathered to protest at the beadbi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s Saroop by certain individuals from Watford. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s Saroop was brought in a metal suitcase which was a distressing and outrageous act for Sikhs to witness.

On 16 July 2006, a radio presenter called Jasvir Singh was beaten up somewhere in Hounslow. Until now no one has clearly defined the reasons for the beating, but Punjab radio and its fan club have milked the story to make Jasvir Singh a martyr to the cause. The various Sikh discussion forums, Gurdwaras, the Punjabi Radio Stations and the Punjabi press have all spent a great amount of time on the story of Jasvir Singh’s beating.

It amazes me how much energy our kaum have to input into highlighting an issue of the turban of an outspoken radio presenter being knocked off and how little energy our kaum have to highlight the issue of the turban of our father Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj being knocked off when the beadbi of Maharaj’s Saroop takes place.

The Watford beadbi has received almost insignificant coverage in the Punjabi media compared to the attack on a alleged “panthic sewadar” Jasvir Singh. I am not saying the attack on Jasvir Singh was right or wrong as I don’t know the full facts.

OK, maybe it's an over reaction on my part, but the fact that an attack on an individual, who is perceived to be a celebrity or a personality, grants them a special status in the media and community over an attack on our eternal Guru is shameful.

  5. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

The Campaign will the issuing an official statement and pictures later today. As veerji said above, thank you to all the GurSikhs who travelled from around the UK to help with the sewa.

DHAN GURU DHAN GURU PYARAY! d_oh.gif

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

PS. A humble request, pray.gif please can we stop referring to Guru Maharaj's Saroop as "it" and "SGGS". Thanks

  6. How can people sit around and tolerate Guru jis beadbi and still claim to be Sikhs of the Guru??? Whats wrong with the UK sangat, are u all sleeping??? For hundreds of years Sikhs have been attacked, now people are going straight to our Guru and attacking him. You all are talking about protesting if this beadbi is going to take place??? Why dont u just go in there and take Guru ji out of there? Protesting will solve and do nothing to stop this. If this beadbi takes place this weekend, sorry to say, but the UK Sangat, in my eyes, will just be a bunch of loud-mouthed, slogan mongering posers. There is still time, do something, please.

    Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa

    Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

I can't argue with what you are saying, but there's no harm in attempting the peaceful method. Besides veerji, you can probably imagine all the comebacks of carrying out the "direct" method you have mentioned above.

With Maharaj's kirpa most of the issues are resolved via discussions. On some occasions protests have taken place. At the end of the day it's a long term battle. Yes, the radical why will sort the short term problems. But the unfortuntate thing is that the abuse of Sikh Maryada and Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is almost a regular occurance all around the world. We need to act effectively to get the message across, the sad thing is we are having to win over our own Sikhs, the non-Sikhs are more compasionate to the issues.

  7. Looks like no ones that interested in this issue so I thought I better BUMP it up.

People more interested in bashing the babay or the jathay or concerned about the contents of langer! Come on guys, need the Sangat's help here. Please do not let the beadbi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji's Saroop take place in Watford this weekend.

    Ring/Email the centre above.

  8. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

It looks like calls are being diverted to voicemail. Please leave a message on the voicemail of the centre.

Where is Maharaj's Saroop coming from and who are the granthi/ragis? Has anyone spoken to the Granthis (who should know better)! Might be good to get in touch with them too...

Maharaj's saroop is coming from Maidenhead near Slough. There's meant to be some freelance jatha from there, anyone know who they are?

  9. Do what you feel is comfortable. You'll get so much mixed advice it will probably confuse you even more.

A few days after I took amrit I was asked to take my team out to lunch. I knew I would have to buy a round of drinks for them, imagine a Singh of Guru Gobind Singh Ji going to a bar asking for a round of drinks for other people. I couldn't do it and approached the CEO to explain my situation. Whether he was happy or not he respected my decision and from that day I never had to take anyone to lunch where I would have to buy an alcoholic drink. As time went on the firm respected my wishes and gradually stopped even asking me to go to the pub with them.

OK, truthfully I did become a bit of an outcaste in the office, but rather that than doing something that would make feel like I was insulting my Guru and the countless Saheeds who lived and breathed Sikhi.

  10. can any one go to the open meeting on the 2nd of july?

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!!

If you have love for our Eternal Guru, Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj then you should make every effort to attend.

    United we stand!

  11. Looks like we are being watched! LOL!

    http://www.barficulture.com/community/curr...2919/index.html

It’s amusing that when Sikhs express an opinion it’s dismissed as "crazy", "immature", “fundamentalist”, “fanatical” etc.

But as mentioned in this thread these breed of Asian journalists are ever ready to pick up on negativity and exaggerate the situation to portray the message the white media want to read. This is the only wahy they will get up their chosen career ladder.

This thread is bait for some like Sunny Hundal as he can now (and probably will) portray himself as someone who has Sikh enemies as he’s outspoken about the Sikh community. Wannabe journalists like Sunny Hundal come and go. Let him write his stuff, people get bored easily and forget the next day.

  12. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

I bet she advertises in the Punjabi newspapers! Has the term "Aykaa Mayee" been used to describe anyone in our Sikh ithaas, does it exist?

I wonder how many "sikh" chela she has running around after her?!

This is a great example of manipulation of Gurbani. "Aykaa Mayee" LOL! Little does Nirmala know that the tuk of Gurbani which she thinks represents her actually is:

"Aykaa Mayee, Jugat vihaee, tin chelee parvan" from Sri Japji Sahib where Guruji explains the game of Maya and the three devte (Vishnu, Bramha & Shiv) who are under sole control of Waheguru Akal Purakh!!

Well if she thinks she's maya then all the best to her LOL!!

LOL.gif Looks like her advisors got it wrong!

  13. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

This was waiting to happen. With the current Ramgharia Gurdwara trend around the UK, it was only a matter of time before East London jumped on the bandwagon.

Out of the 40 Saroops, 20 were transported to a house in Southall, not sure where the other 20 Saroops are. The "box-room" Sachkhand in the new Gurdwara is too small to look after 20 Saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

It is a shame that the sangat were lied to, especially after the big promises that this new committee made about ensuring that the Ramgharia community centre would be used for Gurmat activities only. Well I suppose the not much money to be made from Gurmat activities, Manmat is where the money is!

Maybe the panel of 5 elder Singhs dealing with the Ek Niwas beadbi issue need to start tackling these Masands ASAP. All keertanis, ragis, parcharaks etc should boycot these Gurdwaras until the stop their manmat activities. Either way a stronger message needs to be communicated as the Akal Takht Sandesh obviously means nothing to them!

  14. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

He used to post on the sikh forums as "rajs". I think he may have used that username on Sikhsangat as well (not sure).

The only danger about him is that he is acting as a "Sikh" Chaplin in the HMS Prisons in the UK. He obviously gets a chance to bash his parchar out to prisoners from Sikh backgrounds.

Our short-coming is that we should be doing the sewa in the Prisons ourselves or puting the right GurSikhs forward. I suppose no-one is really volunteering do to the sewa and he's seen a niche market!

  15. TavParsad,

please do not taint all mahapursh with your biased post. He is not a Sikh, he is not teaching spirituality, he is not teaching gurbani or anything like this.

This person is a yoga master and he is teaching yoga. There is no SEWA here, he is teaching people yoga that is all.

If he wants to charge astronomical amounts of money for his sessions and people want to pay those prices why is it getting up your nose?

I agree that people should get up amritwelly and go naam/simran but if our middle aged uncles and anties who have over indulged on prathay, samosay and ladoo have gotten off their back sides and done a little excersice that surely that is a good thing.

    .

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

They do Bhajans at the end of the sessions, everyone in the sangat claps along.

Bundha Ji alot of people see him as a spirtual guide, my father-in-law drops the swamis quotes in coversation every so often. Not everyone sees yoga as a physical exercise some expect to gain spritual enlightenment from yoga too. I suppose it depends on what catergory an individual falls in.

He does make claims about curing cancer, diabetes etc. They are big claims and having close family members who have died from cancer, I know how vunerable people are when they have a terminal illness. £500 is a drop in the ocean when it comes to paying someone who claims they can pro-long your life span.

Guru Ji gave as a format of healthy living, eat little, sleep little, regular exercise, minimising the 5 evils etc. This already exists in our maryada, but we don't follow it. We still indulge and so therefore reap what we sow. There are techniques for doing simran, in some case the Punj Pyaray even teach you them, but people seem to be more convinced by a swami on TV rather than their Guru (who they profess to follow).

  16. I think we need to be aware that he's getting a big following of middle-aged punjabis/Sikhs because of his TV exposure.

What's new????? 'Sikhs' follow any tom d i c k or harry who comes along. it's what they are known for!!

Sad state of affairs. One more expensive baba to add to the list! And the list carrys on growing.....

  17. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

What do you get for £500 compared to £70? Probably front row seats.

    VIP - £ 500

    DIAMOND - £ 300

    GOLD - £ 140

    SILVER - £ 70

But it's true. This swami has a big following, my father-in-law watches him all the time. It's funny how my father-in-law won't get up for Amrit-Vela, but will get up to watch the swami do yoga on TV. I have also noticed almost all his audience are middle-aged people who are begining to worry about their health as they are getting closer to their last days.

This swamis the talk of the town at the moment. It's strange how our Sikhs feel that yoga can better their lives but don't want to get closer to GurBani in anyway or attempt to do naam abhiyaas/simran.

    Fateh!

LOL! Man what's with the sudden yoga trend with the uncle and aunties. Shows the power of daily TV. I know too many relatives who watch this swamis show on Asatha. I bet when he comes down the UK most of his chela will be apanay! Anyway he's going to make some serious money comming down to the UK.

PS. Someones puting a massive posters up in the Gurdwaras around London regarding the swamis show. I suggest you take them off if you seem them in your local Gurdwara Sahib!

That reminds me i'm doing a tour of the whole of Asia next month. do come along and i don't charge as much as Ramdev, :TH:

On a serious note if people fall for idiots like this should we care?

I think we need to be aware that he's getting a big following of middle-aged punjabis/Sikhs because of his TV exposure.
