  1. Feedback from Metropolitan Police Authority

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

The MPS are aware that the Al-Mahajiroun have stated their intention to hold their annual rally on Trafalgar Square on Sunday 25th July.

The GLA have written to the group advising that there is already another event taking place (French Street Opera) in Trafalgar Square and it would not be available for use. The Al-Mahajiroun web site indicates that they still intend to hold the rally. If they do so they will be in breach of the bye-laws, an offence which can only be dealt with by the GLA by way of summons. The bye-laws do not give a power to ban the rally or arrest those involved.

The MPS are aware that the proposed rally and some of the content on the Al-Mahajiroun web-site has concerned many, including members of the Sikh and Hindu communities. The material on the web site and emails received by many individuals are being examined by the MPS and

Crown Prosecution Service for possible breaches of law.

I have also been informed that members of both the Sikh and Hindu communities have met with the MPS concerning the proposed rally.

The MPS will continue to monitor the situation, and a policing plan is being developed which will aim to facilitate lawful protest while at the same time preventing disorder and minimising disruption to the area (and mindful of the event already permitted by the GLA in Trafalgar Square on the 25 July.)

  2. REMEMBER.

    We must keep the pressure.

    Ken Livingstone mayor@london.co.uk tel: 020 7983 4100

He must release a statement condemning the rally, and a plan of action in collaboration with the Met Police to stop it.

    Metropolitan Police Authority membersservices@mpa.gov.uk tel: 020 7202 0184

They must provide reassurance with a constructive plan of action to make sure this illegal rally does not happen.

    Commission for Racial Equality info@cre.gov.uk tel: 020 7939 0000

They must condemn the press statement and provide support to the Sikh Organisations involved in stopping this rally.

    Your Local MP

Please email, ring, and arrange a meeting with your local MP to raise this issue in the House of Commons. They all have websites with contact details email & phone numbers.

Khalsa ji we must stop this public humiliation of our Religion and Human Rights. We have less than 1 week!

  3. This is so dum!! Are they trying to create a complete new sect??

They are claiming ownership of GurSikhs like Bhai Lalo and Baba Nand Singh..... And why still link yourself to Vishwakarama (Hindu diety for Carpenters).... Futher still why associate with Namdharis.....

  4. Smart Singh

Others currently involved are the Hindu Council UK. They are currently pressuring the Mayor as well and are contacting CRE and Met Police.

I have contacted te Jewish Chronicle, waiting for feedback, I hope they can help.

But it is obvious to whom the press release is targerted towards.

Out of the Christian Organisations I would guess The Church of Enland would be a start.

Please if you feel that other groups should be contacted please proceed.

  5. Khalsa ji

Can we all contact our local MPs ie Pyara Khabra (Southall), Mike Gapes (Ilford South) and book appointments to meet with them.

Its best to go in a group and work out before hand the issues. Also go with the press release and any other replies you may have received for other organisations like the Mayor's Office.

All MPs have web pages, please email the details to them.

    GurFateh

  6. Khalsa ji

Now the weekend is here we all must try to email as many organisations as possible with:

    1) The press release of the Al Muju's

    2) The Mayor's stance

    3) The illegal approach of the organisers and the potential troubles that can occur

    4) As far as we know 12.00 noon 25th July is what the organisers are telling people

    5) The Al Muju's comments are promoting Racial Hatred, Tension, AntiDemocratic, Unethical. Exactly what the media has highlighted with the BBC programme on the BNP. They are exactly the same!

Also we must continue to pressure the Mayor to release a statement. This will become the basis of our action. Organised and Formal is the approach we must take.

  7. Spoke to a Al-Muhajiroun representive on the telephone number. The Rally is STILL going ahead and will now start at 12pm not 1pm.

We need to keep the pressure up guys. Keep phoning. The ground work needs to be done by individuals.

The following are also helping stop this event from taking place

    British Sikh Federation

    Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha

    Network of Sikh Organisations

    Sikh Secretariat/Sikh Federation UK

    Sikhs In England

    Sikh Missionary Society UK

and Gurmukh Singh of the British Sikh Consultative Forum

Please DO NOT STOP BEING PRO-ACTIVE. Think of any way that you can help prevent the rally.

  8. The BNP campaign at the moment is to attack the muslim religion/community in the UK and win popularity with whites in the areas where there is a large muslim presence.

We cannot and must not agree with any of the BNP policies, however, they mentioned about how muslims are targetting Sikh girls and the Sikh & Hindu community as a whole. They are obviously using the Sikh community as political tool. Islamic conversions were mentioned etc. all the stuff we already know about..

Anyway as this documentary is fresh in people's minds it may be a good time to send the Al-Muhajiroun links to the media and show the other side of the story. We are not being pro-BNP in anyway, but just presenting two sides to the story.

We are not stirring trouble, but the public deserve to know that race hate literature is sent out by both groups.

Al-Muhajiroun are just as bad as the BNP!!

Yesterday there was a Documentary on the BBC about someone who went undercover in the BNP (Right Wing UK party).

The BNP campaign at the moment is to attack the muslim religion/community in the UK and win popularity with whites in the areas where there is a large muslim presence.

I don't agree with any of the BNP policies, however, they mentioned about how muslims are targetting Sikh girls and the Sikh & Hindu community as a whole. They are obviously using us as an excuse. Islamic conversions were mentioned etc. all the stuff we already know about..

Anyway as this documentary is fresh in people's minds it may be a good time to send the Al-Muhajiroun links to the media and show the other side of the story. We are not being pro-BNP in an

yway, but just presenting two sides to the story.

  10. The link to http://www.jihadunspun.com/intheatre_inter...&list=/home.ppa no longer works. Looks like they've take it off the website...

If we could say to print this document out and FAX it to all the Media and Mr Ken and other groups ?

    What do you think ?

I think you should go ahead and do it veerji. It should help draw some negative publicity to the rally.

Make sure you send a covering letter with it explaining the concerns and issues that will arise if this rally goes ahead. Copy and paste some of the comments posted on this forum.

  11. Has anyone sucessfully used the links to the MET on line. There seems to be no category for a race hate crime that has not yet occured.

We need to visit Charing Cross Police Station. If anyone is able to go then please report this as a potential Race Hate crime. I am going to try and go tonight or tommorrow after work.

We need as many people as possible to report this. Also has anyone got contact for any Jewish and Christian organistations??

  12. Khalsa Ji

Please can everybody get as many people as possible together to ring the mayor's office.

I have contacted the National Union of Hindu Students.

Does anyone have Jewish & Christian Organisations contacts? Together we must keep the pressure up and get the mayor to pull the plug on this event.

    GurFateh

  13. I ahve contacted the Anti Nazi League enquiries@anl.org.uk:

    Dear sir or madam

Your organisation's help is required to stop the open and public

slander of other religions by Muslim group on the 25th of July

Below is their press release promoting hatred and has upset many.

Simplistically this boils down to human rights and their arguement

that anything outside of Islam is wrong.

The public conversions are just to humiliate other religions and has

    no other motive.

This cannot take place in London as we pride ourselves on its

diversity and ability to learn from each other.

My main fears is that this will be a day where tempers fly and

trouble will erupt. Therefore will it not be better to cancel the

    event.

I repeat, this event is not a promotion of Islam but to degrade other

    religious beliefs.

Please advise what help you can give. This is an important issue.

Lets contact any agency that can be even slightly relevant

    Gur Fateh

  14. Khalsa ji

    This is the way forward.

I have contacted the London Mayor mayor@london.gov.uk:

    Dear Ken

The rally on the 25th of July must be stopped, all it is doing is

promoting hatred within religions. The press release from the

Al-Muhajiroun is nothing more than publically humiliating other

religions in the middle of London. Thats not what London's about.

The link below is from a discussion forum which has the press release

    and peoples reaction to it!

    http://forums.waheguroo.com/index.ppa?act=...&s=60e6c6abf656

    d6fb62ae478366561c86

There are going to be problems the best way to divert it is to cancel

    the event.

If the event was a simple get together of Muslims wishing to promote

their place in society or to protest against oppression then that

fine, we all have the right to do that.

BUT this is blantant slander and promotion of hatred, the Met Police

will have their hands full and the situtaion can blow out of

proportion. Do not think I am making this up, the press release needs

to be read!! The individual who wish to convert, all the best to them

but by doing this openly, its aim is to insult other religions.

I am Sikh and am deeply upset with what is going on.

You must stop this rally from taking place. Please reply with a plan

of action, otherwise I dread to think what will happen on that day.

    Regards

Also log on to www.BBC.co.uk/london and into contact us

Anybody know a email for the Met Police??

    How about the polit

ical parties! and other pressure groups. The list is endless, if all the cyber sangat gets together we can create a massive impact
