  1. Exscuse me, I do not have a multiple ID! The other user is a member of my family.
  2. Bhamver- Of course i agree on your point about worshipping faithfully on the pathway in which you have opted, i respect all religious pathways , they all lead to one outcome ,the teachings may be taught in different ways but mean the same thing. My faith has only taught me equality, to love, and care. But this does not mean you forget about the history and roots of your religion. Chatengu- Thats a very big judgement you have just made, from childhood i have always payed an equal amount of respect for all gurus and relgious leaders. God is One, but there are many ways to unite with Him. I have never inidividualized another because of his/her faith. Talking about 'Lipservice', im sorry but you are no1 to prejudge my personal thoughts (no offence). If someone's teachings or faith is different this does not mean you don't respect other powerful and divine Gurus, infact from learning about them your knowledge increases the respect you have. You have a little misunderstanding, I do not disagree with anything the Guru Granth Sahib. Naam- we have guddi nasheen Sant, who bless you with naam, when they feel you are capable and ready to attain. For more info: http://www.gururavidassji.org.uk/mainpage.htm Jai Ravidass Sach Hai Naam, God Bless. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  3. Dancing Warrior and Chatanga. I agree with the foundation of your message around segregation. However, Ravidassia is not something that happened over night. We are talking about something that started in the 13th century. Our guru done alot for poor and socially disadvantaged people and he has had a profound impact on on the Chamar community (not all Chamar's are Ravidassia) up until today. You can appreciate that Guru Ravidass's followers ranged from Rani's, Raja's, poor, rich, Brahmin's people from all sections of the society. Some of his followers were actually the very people that used to hate 'low caste people' and supported their pursecution. So we do not choose to separate ourselves for self-righteous reasons but historically it has always been like that. We also beleive in the teachings of the Guru Granth Sahib and respect all the Guru's alike. We do not adhere to specific standards such as the 5 K's - created by Guru Gobind around the time where mogul's were enforcing muslim religion ruthlessly. If you come into our Gudwara you will see photos of all the Guru's including the other ones e.g. Baba Farid Ji and Kaveer Ji. You see Bhamver Fateh Singh spoke about his grandmother's memories of 'low caste' people being abused by 'higher caste' people and not being aloud in Gudwara's to bow before the Granth Sahib. The Hindu's done the exact things to us ('low castes') when we wanted to go to the mundir. So Centuries later we face same prejudice again when we want to worship the Granth Sahib in which is our Guru's bani. You cannot expect people to just sit down behave and take crap all their life (excuse my french) eventually they will do what they have to so they are FREE and ALOUD TO LOVE GOD IN PEACE. Chatangu. I quote your comment: "Come to the fold of the Khalsa brotherhood and take the protection of the Naam". I have officially accepted Ravidassia Naam Pajan. This is very similar to Amrat Dhari. I do not eat any animal products, I do not smoke drink etc. I have 5 sacred words which are actually the same as the ones issued by Rada Swami. We also do the Parths in the morning and evening and Simran. I do not appreciate people asking other's who are obviously at peace with their religion to join another. This i find disrespectful as it is insinuating that my religion is somewhat inferior or not good enough. So please do not say this to me and the Sikh religion does not support this type behaviour. God Bless you.
  4. I myself am a strong follower of Guru Ravidass Ji. In reply to the initial post regarding the confusion between Guru Ravidass being a 'bhagat' or a 'Guru', i would like everyone to question what the difference between the general meaning of a Guru and a Bhagat is? A Bhagat refers to a Holy Person who leads humanity towards God, and a Guru is a spritual teacher. So what does the content of a 'Guru's teachings consist, the correct standard of living & requirements in order to one day unite with God, a similar concept which a 'Bhagat' would lead. The only potential difference is that a Guru leads a larger following (sangat) where a Bhagat does not usually preach to attract supporters but preach to highlight injustices in practises of the world. In reference to the quotation 'Tumre Bhajan, Kahte jamh phasa Bhagat heth, gaave Ravidassa' from Guru Ravidass Ji's 40 shabads.I would like to say there are many meanings of the term 'Bhagat' in different contexts, the times when Guru Ravidass Ji lived (said to have been - 13th century), it is claimed that he spoke the 'hindi' language since he lived in a hindu community (Banaras Kanchi- India) and everyone part of that locality was restricted to follow anything but Hinduism. 'Bhagat' in the hindi dictionary defines a 'slave', meaning Guru Ravidass Ji in his shabad was potraying him self as a 'slave' towards God. From my understanding of my faith, the Ravidassia community regard Guru Ravidass as their Guru because he has lead a leading role in setting an example of the importance and reality in believing in God - The leader of all mankind and beyond. He showed us how an individual by himself can go through so much harsh reality to believe in the Holy Father, and how much we should appreciate our freedom to worship God and so we should to secure a place in his kingdom and heart. We class him as a Guru because we are followers of his teachings of humanity, equality ,universal brotherhood & far more! He taught us how to respect all relgious pathways and tolerance. (As result of Guru Ravidass Ji being a low caste (Chamar) he faced unbearable casteism and unfair prejudice and therefore he was not permitted to follow any faith or worship God , however his powers & divinity with God couldn't stop him from doing anything. He proved to all the discriminates , that NOTHING could stop a man from acquiring the devotion & presence of God within himself, by performing amazing miracles.) Guru Ravidass Maharaji Ki Jai, Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!!
