  1. Crappy food, and bad living conditions? I bet some people in Africa would be DYING to live inside an "American jail cell" with "crappy food and living conditions". Peterson deserves to die, he killed his wife AND his child, while he was romancing another girlfriend. And as far as putting him in jail, I would never give him another chance to escape. You can not bring the Gurus into this, because then it becomes a game with no rules. You do NOT know what the Gurus do. All we have are our interpretations. Judge one by one's actions, not what he is born as. And as far as him not having enough time to connect with God...he'll have plent y of time. He'll be in jail for a decade before getting the lethal injection. Okay, so how does an African apply to this situation? It's quite obvious you have no sense of what prisons are really like. Prisons do enough to keep you alive to conform with the laws of basic human rights, go look it up. Other than that, they are a living hell. You're telling me an African would long to live in a jail cell? If that man enjoys being raped, sure why not. After all, his son and daughter was being raped. How is prison any different? NO *hit that an African would long to live in an American jail cell, because they have to abide by Human Rights. In prison your freedom is taken away but do what they have to do to abide with the laws of life. I don't condone what Peterson did. It was a horrible act and I can't imagine what the victim's family is going through. Think of it this way, when this man dies God will decide his fate, and you know it ain't gonna be pretty. This question was brought up on another forum. One person stated, "do you know why Canada is probably the greatest country in the world? Because we protect our Human Rights." "Commiting a crime, then going to prison and becoming retarded or obese because you weren't given the tools to stay in shape or further your education results in failure to comply with our Human Rights. " I think that that concept should apply here. This is why you are able to walk freely in society and not have to be subjected to racial oppression, like the example of Africans that you thought could further your point. You need to learn to treat everyone equally.

  7. Uzbekistan Airlines, eh? , from the sound of that name, I wouldn't want to fly it after hearing stories about Aeroflot.
  8. I agree with what Sony said! Life in prison without parole is a living hell and it's surely a harsher punishment for a criminal. Imagine living in a small cell for the rest of your life, with crappy food, bad living conditions and always facing the danger of being harmed by your fellow inmates... But then again, executing Scott Peterson will quite possibly restore some balance in the lives of the victim's family.
  9. no US airline has flights to Amritsar, to my present knowledge.
  10. Beats the 8-9 hour trip from New Delhi airport!
  11. Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well on your mid-terms and assignments. Finals are just around the corner and I am sure many of you are stressing out, I know I am. Keep your chin up and think positive! This term is almost over, so let's make the best of it! The luxuries that we have in life, and sometimes take for granted, are unfortunately not available to everyone. Those who are unlucky live in conditions of poverty, and each day is a battle for survival. Poverty is extremely high in Toronto and it continues to be a growing problem. Homeless people die out on the streets because they lack the necessities of life. The rate of death is only heightened in the winter season, as people succumb to freezing cold temperatures of the harsh Canadian winter. Every year on January 1st a Homeless Project is held in downtown Toronto. Food, clothing and other essentials are distributed to the homeless people. We basically walk around in large pacts and hand out items to any homeless person we see. A lot of people participated last year, and we’re hoping to see an even greater turn out this year. If you’re interested in participating, please e-mail your name, age, telephone number to the event organizer at sukhi_05@hotmail.com If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to contact her at any time! Regards, - Sunny Jatana

  18. What's the big humbug all about? It's sad that these people died, and they should be remembered, but all this bickering is pointless. They died a tragic death, life goes on. - Sunny
  19. God can hear you anywhere on this planet, it does not matter where your physical presence is.
  20. I am personally from Toronto and have travelled to Vancouver numerous times to visit family there. The sangat in both cities is the same. You'll find a large concentrated population of Sikhs in most areas, so which city has the most is certainly not an issue. Both Ontario and British Columbia have post secondary schools. One of my best friends is from B.C., and decided to come to school here. Another good friend's sister is studying in B.C., so which province has the best post secondary education is not a big issue either.. I think it may also depend on what you want to study. If you're talking about secondary education (ie highschool), then it doesn't matter where you go  As for jobs, like JSS said the job market in B.C. is not very strong. I think you're bound to find more opportunities in Toronto. With respect to housing, it's VERY expensive in British Columbia, depending on what place you have in mind. A house facing the mountains will have higher prices as opposed to a house that's facing the other way in the same residential ar ea, that's how crazy it is there. Travel links? I'm not sure what you mean. You can fly anywhere from Vancouver or Toronto, as they are major hubs for Canadian airlines as well as international carriers. Both cities are great! My only problem with B.C. is the bad Punjabi's. In terms of weather, B.C. beats Toronto. - Sunny
