aren't we tired of going down the same road over and over and over and over and over again ............

P.S. "Guru ji's darbar" is depended on a lot of money here in the west. all big and fancy gurdwaras aren't built and run free here in the west. You still got to pay expenses of running the place espeically for all these big and fancy gurdwaras.
do you think, a guru ghar won't be functional if you didn't put ur 25 cents or 1 dollar in golak everytime you went?
think before typing, have some respect.

ok lets look at this. if bani is larivaar, then we really need to concentrate while reading, our dhyaan cannot go anywhere cause we will get lost. one needs santhya and practice to be able to read larivaar
anything else, be it spaces, be it colour coding, it makes it much easier to read, one doesn't need too much concentration.

Its our duty to take care of our parents.
When we were little and couldn't feed ourselves, they fed us.
When we couldn't bathe ourselves, they washed us. cleaned our dirty diapers.
When we couldn't walk, they would extend their finger so we could.
When we couldn't work, they worked for us, paid for every single thing we ever needed.
Have they every asked for anything in return? NO. They only want us to be happy
Now, since they are old, they might have a hard time seeing, we must become their eyes.
Now, since they are old, they might have a hard time walking, we must become their legs.
Now, since they are old, they might have a hard time thinking, we must be there to help them.
i could go on and on, but the bottom line is, if it weren't for our parents, we wouldn't be here. we owe our life to them, we owe everything to them.

careful with your wording, that also says that combing your hair also "tampers with the law's of nature"Dishonoring hair means anything which alters kes, and tampers with the law’s of naturethis from damdami taksaal website.

2. Hajamat – Removing KeshCutting hair is strictly forbidden in Gurmat. From your head down to your toes, no hair is to be plucked, cut, burnt or chemically/surgically removed. Kesh are not to be dyed by any method whatsoever, to make it black or the plucking of only white hairs is not permitted.

"The treacherous has altered the perfect human body, making it lose it's natural beauty. He/She will not get acceptance in the court of God and is an infidel,
dog and is devil like."
Keeping your Kesh is essential. Upon the death of a relative, the deceased’s hair is not to be shaved off. The cutting of hair is prohibited in other religions as well, but in Gurmat cutting the hair is a cardinal sin and results in a person being an outcast. Thus changing, cutting or removing the hair in any manner is strictly forbidden for a Gursikh. You are to guard against committing this cardinal sin.
The Kesh is not to be washed with ashes or clay, it is to be washed with shampoo, yoghurt or lasee. Lying down uncovered or partaking in any action with your Kesh uncovered is strictly forbidden. You are not to enter a dusty, dirty place with your Kesh uncovered. Cutting the Kesh or piercing the ears/noses of your children is strictly forbidden. The hair of children is not to be tied in dreadlocks. From a young age, the Kesh of your children are to be combed with a Kangha.

Amritdharee Singhs are to keep their beards open and untied.

then just keep "preparing" your entire lifeMaybe it is just that I have real high expectations of what a real Singh represents. It is very difficult level to reach, you have to be politically and socially astute, mega confident, spiritual and a kick chittor fighter too. Better develop these characteristics and then become an amritdhari.0 -
again, shabad is guru. try to think about what shabad actually is. is shabad confined to the 52 letters of a script??

I remember a Baba Ji (can't remember who) would take the two parchia and place them in water. Whichever floated or was the closest was picked up and the answer therein followed.
:TH: eliminates the "i can influence the outcome" deal
also, if you have enough faith to ask guru sahib for an answer, have enough faith to know that guru sahib will make you understand his hukum one way or another.

Thought I should write a post in this topic so here it goes..
I admit I suck at punjabi :sady:
When I was in India 2 years ago, I had a hole in my suit. I was trying to tell my cousin about the hole and I said "mera suit tut gaya" :D and she goes "WHAT??" and then she saw the hole, started laughing soo much and said "Didi it's not mera suit tut gaya, it's mera suit paadh gaya"
thats why i love talking punjabi with western kids, tooo funny

as kids get more and more freedom, they are learning more from outside sources, tv, music, school, friends etc.... than parents.
think about that before you start passing the blame onto others.

if we try to tackle kaam ourselves, we will fail miserably. this goes for all vikaars.
these mahabali's cannot be fought by weak humans.
