The Times of India, Feb. 24, 2004 http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/ YUDHVIR RANA, TIMES NEWS NETWORK AMRITSAR: A six-year-old Sikh girl in Pakistan has reportedly been converted to Islam by a tribesman who abducted and held her for more than a month after her parents refused to ransom her. This was revealed by intelligence sources here on Sunday. This is reportedly the most sensitive incident of conversion in the recent past. Earlier, reports of mass conversion of Hindus in Pakistan under threat had been pouring in. According to sources, Harvinder Kaur had been kept in Tirah valley of Khyber but no one helped the poor parents who had been running from pillar to post for recovery of the child. Reports received by intelligence agencies here state Harvinder has been given a new name, Amina, by a powerful tribesman Malikdin Khel. It is learnt that, after the news spread and Sikh bodies in Pakistan took up the issue, human rights organisations in the country had constituted a committee to probe the incident. If this was happening in Canada, these ppl would have already been in the body bags if they even dared utter 1 word against OUR GURUS.. Singhs of Canada would have made sure this kindaa thing doesn't happen there THATS FOR SURE.I dunno what has happened to the 'Anakh' of the sikhs in uk....All the trouble we hear between sikhs and Muslims arises from Britain. Read his comment at the end of teh article"These fukin' jihadis piss me off man".I think he just posted that article and man what the hell is wrong with british Muslims.They are hell bent on pissing the sikhs and otehr religions. I dunno what you are talking about. There are many sikhs in the west who didnt agree with Jathedars intervention in Table and Chair matter in The western Canada.Though I agree taht there should be no chairs allowed. Secondly, we as a sikh should not pass judgement. Thirdly, yesterday badal called sikh freedom fighters who defended akal takht as traitors and yet ppl regard him as sikh. And Dosanjh never commented on the freedom fighters who died defending Akal Takht. He just didnt agree with the Air India bombing and growing violence in mid 80's.Thats his view.

Regardless of that..He's still a sikh. Who are we to say he's not. He has his own beliefs.For eg: Manmohan singh is a PM of India from congress(the party that killed sikhs) but sikhs are still proud of him What has Ujjal dosanjh done that is Anti Sikh? If he is a moderate sikh then be it.

Bains - the only Amrithdhari to win the Canadian elections has indeed made the sikh community proud. Its not just that...He is a really well educated young guy who can represent his constituency really well.

Gurmant Grewal and Nina grewal THE ONLY HUSBAND-WIFE PAIR in the parliament. Really sad that Tim Uppal lost by just 32 votes. Though he has asked for the recount so lets see what happens.
