I think you should give this camp a shot. I have attended this camp and it was a good experience.
Its a mix of both with sikhi activities, kirtans and yes sports. Workshops are good and speakers/presentations are great as well.

Many may not agree with me but i really didn't like the fact that the Gatka Akhara went to the show in the first place. As i watched the video all i could think was...why?
At a nagar keertan yes...but at a talent show...really?...For parchaar?
There are numerous Gatka Akhara's in the UK and i'm certain none of them would sell their vidya so cheap...all for just for a few mins of fame!
Singh I understand your concern, but for one second think of it from another perspective.
You do not know the exact reason why that akhara went to that show, so why assume?
It could have been for fame but it could be prachaar. Your not looking at the big picture.
MILLIONS of indians watch this show, exposure was our sikhi to them and how it is still alive today and it will not die..
If they were true khalsa and sons of guru gobind singh, I bet their main aim was to show just this!!

Virji, there are amrit sanchaars happening every month, please get in touch with toronto panj pyaray sevadaar Bh Hardeep Singh ji at 647 801 9700. He will tell you on any upcoming amrit sanchaars and if there isnt one, if theres a demand, they will organize one.

Name and shame, this needs to be brought up in UK media channels (ie. the sikh channel).

soniakaur24, theres more to it than that. some people would be able to handle their family lineage coming to an end, but some wouldnt, and they would seek alternative methods of firstly conceiving, and if not then, especially in the case of a woman being infertile, possibly another marriage. The woman does not keep her family line going, she keeps the mans family line going.
Veerai, this is perfect example of caste domination in families. The idea of 'keeping the family line going'. Our family is the Khalsa!!! There is no end to our family. If one goes down, thousand others rise!
