  1. Vaheguru ji ka khalsa Vaheguru ji ki fateh

What does disciple of man refer to??

    TILANG, FIRST MEHL:

As the Word of the Forgiving Lord comes to me, so do I express it, O Lalo. Bringing the marriage party of sin, Babar has invaded from Kaabul, demanding our land as his wedding gift, O Lalo. Modesty and righteousness both have vanished, and falsehood struts around like a leader, O Lalo. The Qazis and the Brahmins have lost their roles, and Satan now conducts the marriage rites, O Lalo. The Muslim women read the Koran, and in their misery, they call upon God, O Lalo. The Hindu women of high social status, and others of lowly status as well, are put into the same category, O Lalo. The wedding songs of murder are sung, O Nanak, and blood is sprinkled instead of saffron, O Lalo. || 1 || Nanak sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord and Master in the city of corpses, and voices this account. The One who created, and attached the mortals to pleasures, sits alone, and watches this. The Lord and Master is True, and True is His justice. He issues His Commands according to His judgement. The body-fabric will be torn apart into shreds, and then India will remember these words. Coming in seventy-eight (1521 A.D.), they will depart in ninety-seven (1540 A.D.), and then another disciple of man will rise up. Nanak speaks the Word of Truth; he proclaims the Truth at this, the right time. || 2 || 3 || 5

maharaj is basically sayin that the mughals came in 1521 and will leave in 1540, but then another force will rise up. I guess its kinda like...this is what happens. Armies of warriors come and fight and then leave and then others come and fight and leave etc, and to basically just accept that this is what happens and continue to do your paath regardless?

  2. WJKK WJKF

my whole family is Kashmiri and we call blue neela....but i dunno if thas cuz my rents choose to go wit the punjabi version...ill ask them next time i talk to them...lol

The shabad in question is asa ki vaar

neel basathr lae kaparrae pehirae thurak pat(h)aanee amal keeaa

Men began to wear blue robes and garments; Turks and Pat'haans assumed power.

The Muslim National Colour is GREEN! All Islamic States have the colour green, all arabs.

Yeah ofcourse muslim royalty and suicide squads wore blue, because blue was a sign of royalty, but the Islamic Flags and Army clothing was GREEN

When Guru Nanak Dev Ji went to Mecca, the muslims gave him a GREEN chola aswell, and look the shabad in asa ki vaar is by Guru Nanak Dev Ji

neel vasathr pehir hovehi paravaan ||

Wearing blue(GREEN) robes, they seek the approval of the Muslim rulers.

Why would you wear the colour of royalty and go to a Muslim Emporer, thats just gna get you in trouble.

  3. is it the typing you are having problems with or is it the programming side?

    are you a reg. developer?

I would love to join forces lol...

    ks

I havnt started anything yet, but I cant see it being too difficuilt to write an app. I primarily specialise in .net c# 3.5 asp.net on the windows platforms, but i have experience using javaand c++ aswell. its all the same really, just different syntax to do the same thing. I was just saying, if i had access to the sikhitothemax database or even the solution files for the existing version, i could easily create a version for the iphone. All the hardwork has been done in creating the original version, no need to reinvent the wheel.

  4. BTW Bhagat Kabeer Ji was not a muslim. http://www.searchsikhism.com/islam2.html

Any followers of Guru ji at that time would have most probably learned Gurmat from them and hence would have rejected most of their own religious beliefs (rituals etc.).

My advise is to go directly to Guru Joyt - Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji to learn more about Gurmat.

kabeer jee's guru was not one of the 10.

and pheena doesnt have a muslim background

  5. even if we cannot find justification as to why it is necessary, if we really believe in guru gobind singh ji, we will remember that guruji begged the panj pyarey for amrit, and said that he would give his own life and the life of his family - surely its gotta be worth something then !

  6. YOU GUYS SEE

this is just to show off people that ur meditating (mostly)

and if u dont believe look at the 3 tuks given by tableji

Don't know about it being just for show...

I was told by a gurmukh that when you're meditating (or in my case, trying to meditate) then it's extremely easy for the mind to wander. Therefore, using some sort of basis for your senses helps the mind to settle down.

TOUCH: When you use a mala to do simran, your mind focuses (through your nerves) on the mala.

SMELL: Some Gursikhs use incense to stop the nose from wandering (esp if you have the smell of hot pizza right outside your room)

SIGHT: Most Gursikhs close their eyes but you can focus our eyes on a stationary object, and I've found that it helps (and it helps from falling asleep!)

SOUND: If you repeat the mantr aloud then your ears will adjust to that one sound and not be distracted as easily.

And once again about the tuks, people have different interpretations.

For example, the second one, I would take that as Bhagat Kabeer trying to highlight his pyaas for Akaal, and in that statement, he's saying, "I want Darshan of Akall so badly that I can't even sit still and do my bhagti." I don't take it to mean that he's actually denouncing the mala, just that he's so in love with Akaal that it's all he can think about.

Yeah but this raises the question is simran only reciting vaheguru, or is it thinking about vaheguru aswell as reciting? - is it simran when its from your mouth alone? or is it when you are doing vaheguru from within constantly. In that case - if Bhagat Kabeer Jee is sooo in love with maharaj, surely then the simran is happening internally?

  7. Wrong Wrong Wrong

With MAC its the package...Leopard is great....but the MACBOOKS have the little tweaks that make it work...e.g. close the lid on a macbook and it sleeps within 2 seconds...close the lid on a vista laptop and wait 1 minute before it sleeps.

WHen you resume...it just wake up with no wait time...with vista you have to wait ages.

not only that, you get Leopard, which doesnt have the whistles of Vista...but it's a mightly fine peice of kit...I was a harcore vista person until I bought a MAC..they simply rule!!

And to make it all the better..you can dual boot or even run virtual machines with vista and xp within leopard and then run at native speed.

Simple put, after spending 10 years owning various laptops, the switch to MAC was the best thing I did.

I can run ALL my windows software within MAC and also get the bonus of all the tweaks and funtionality of MAC.

SImply put Vista is all visual and no backbone...I mean look at Vista SP1 and XP SP3...SP3 for XP will give a 30% performance boost compared to Vista's SP1...and Vista has a terrible file transfer system that even MS says is rubbish...i.e. it takes 20 times longer to copy files across drives etc...

Vista was relased too early...way too early and have so many driver incompatabilies...its mad...far better to stick with XP if you have a PC rather then Vista..unless you have a quad core home pc like me...ahh the joys of playing Crysis full screen at high res!!!!

call of duty 4 with quadcore 4gb ram 512*2 ati x1950 LOL, full res, full AA, full everything

  10. lol this thread has turned into an oppurtunity for al those "gurmat-parchar" ppl to bash at some group.. challo anywho..

    On the topic of kirtani..

If you don't like what you see, close your eyes :s

how is speaking the truth bashing? gurbani judges in the tukh above not me...can you deny that namdharis distort gurbani??like said above, Ram Rai did EXACTLY the same thing, and Guru Arjan Dev Ji, told him to leave.

So gurbani and gurujis actual actions have both been provided in this discussion. Be my guest if you think you can counter those..

    Bhul Chuk Maaf

  11. Guru Ji sipahi, forgive me, i did ask for views towards jathas, not any particular jatha but using namdharis as an example only seems to have pushed this thread in the direction of namdharis only and howthey view sikhi.

However i made this point recently on another thread that altho people have a go at namdharis for not beleiving Granth is Guru, some peope or jathas/organisations dont beleive in Guru Granth Sahib in its entirety. Would knowing that make you feel like not attending a kirtan event by that particular group ?

Now i dont wanna turn this into jatha bashing. So please dont. And ease up on the namdharis. thank you please.

muslims killed us, hindus killed us, but they are not as bad as the naamdharis.

that is appaling to say something like that.

why is it appauling? they change gurbani - in the presence of guru granth sahib ji? they have a dehdhari guru?

and then we let them into our gurughars just because they have raag vidiya?

    doesnt maharaj say,

koee gaavai raagee naadhee baedhee bahu bhaath kar nehee har har bheejai raam raajae ||

Some sing of the Lord, through musical Ragas and the sound current of the Naad, through the Vedas, and in so many ways. But the Lord, Har, Har, is not pleased by these, O Lord King.

ijnw AMqir kptu ivkwru hY iqnw roie ikAw kIjY ]

jinaa a(n)thar kapatt vikaar hai thinaa roe kiaa keejai ||

Those who are filled with fraud and corruption within - what good does it do for them to cry out?

Maharaj is saying that gursikhi jeevan is more important than raag (not saying that raag is not important)

What is different in namdharis and nirankaris? - they both believe in dehdhari, they both have their own rehits, the both bash Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The only thing difference is, namdharis dont publically or voilently protest, they do it quietly and inflitrate the sangat.

  12. To be honest I think I probably would go. At our Gurdwara when someone from the sangat with a cut beard comes on stage to do kirtan I don't walk out, because it's kirtan. Often these members of the sangat are non- veggies, but that doesn't mean I walk out.

I guess ppl see it as a different thing when it's an organisation, not just an individual. If the whole kirtan darbar was being done by a certain organisation that openly declare anti-gurmat stuff I may not go, but I wouldn't walk out.

Just my views - sori if i sed anyfink wrong blush.gif

Last year when Baljeet Singh Gurmeet Singh came to do keertan, i was asked to play tabla. Initially i accepted, because after hearing them do keertan and their katha, i thought, eh they arent like most mainstream naamdharis, maybe they are different.

Id heard all the accounts of them leaving and wearing sidhiya dastaaran...

anyways, on the sunday they did asa di vaar at West Ealing gurdwara,i was supposed to play, but my gurubhai came down instead and as he had been accompanying for the week, they suggested he should accompany.

    then this happened http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?showto...mp;#entry229569

they missed the tukh out completely. under normal circumstances namdharis recite that tukh as:

neel bastr leh kaprey fareh(instead of pehrey), turkh patani amal geya (instead of keeya)

if you check the thread i posted at the time, ull see two mp3s attatched. one at west ealing where they missed the tukh out, and an older recording where they change the bani.

Ever since this happened, ive totally gone off them. I cant listen to them, because in my heart i always remember what happened that day, and i thank maharaj i was not on the stage playing tabla with them

However the difference between naamdharis and monai is that, naamdharis distort bani, whereas monai just plain dont follow it. However monai do not do parchar saying that there are living gurus and that gurbani is like this, naamdharis do....

muslims killed us, hindus killed us, but they are not as bad as the naamdharis.

  13. vaheguru ji ka khalsa, vaheguru ji ki fateh,

I think youll prolly need someone to take a look manually. If you want me to remotely access ur machine, PM me. thats probably the easiest way for someone to sort this out.

vaheguru ji ka khalsa, vaheguru ji ki fateh,

  14. Look, pretty much every discussion is like that here. Where have you been? Write what you want here, but don't let it bother you too much in the real world. Do you think if someone is writing bs here, I let it have an impact on how I live my life? I aint got time for that and I don't have time to babysit either. I am only worried about myself. Sorry, but my ears don't have a crap receptor, but they do have a crap detector!

Dont you think calling someones views crap is the right way to approach this? - kinda puts people down really, and turns them away from sikhi or even trying to find out what sikhi is.

The Gurus didnt go around saying that all you people have bs views did they? - i dont think so

The Gurus didnt force people to believe what they believed in did they? - i thought they showed the path and let people decide for themselves?

Unfortuantely, none of us are gurus or even close, and also no1 can live and let live. that is the problem. this is why we always fight amongst each other, why all the jathey fight with each other.

also do you KNOW 100% that what you believe in is actually the REAL truth?

btw this isnt to you specifically peacemaker (remember this is discussion - not personal).

at the end of the day, i can only say that i believe what i do, and i hope that it is correct, and if what i do believe in is manmat, then i hope in our constant struggle to be sikh (which is what we do, strive to improve ourselves!), that i will find that soji to understand maharaj.

if someone believes differently to you, let them, dont insult them! dont call them names, dont say that they talk bs or whatever.

apologies if i caused any offense

  15. what is the point in this discussion? it isnt even a discussion. If you are hurt by what someone has said, then you are hurt. the person they have said it about will love them.

    nindha jan kee karay pyareee.

this whole thread has just been ego bashing. (and me posting this probly is aswell lol)

why cant we just agree to disagree? we all have different views and opinions! why do you need to pick out whats different about each other. why dont you recognise that we have way more in common!

discussions remain discussions until the personal element is involved, and thats where people get upset, angry.

dont you see how much you lose by doing this? how crap does everyone feel?

    vaheguru
