At least go to the Gurdwara on sundays when most of the Sangat is present. Golfers golf on sunday like it is an auspiscious religious duty or sum thing. Golf on tuesday when nobody is around and wear sunglasses or play when it isnt so hot. my dad golfs all the time and he used to go a tad after Amritvela hours when the air is fresh and the temp is kewl.

english translations arent Guru Birs. They are like pothis or references, a Granth is compiled together while translations are in volumes. Im not saying disrespect or nothing but selling a translation is the same as posting tuks on the internet, and having someones pc hard disk full of junk and downloading Gurbani to a junk filled computer.

Some say no Gurbani should be for sale. Only sale to pay for cost of making or then how can anyone afford to make millions of gutkas etc. not as making a million dollars like its a business for gaining capital. like the number one selling book in the world.

Ive seen bibles for sale for $150 "donation" and you get a this and that and this or for $100 dollars you get a cheaper and less elegant looking one etc or for $75 you get a lame almost novel loooking bible, all this to pay for the 15 story ceiling and 300feet by 300 feet glass wall of their church. it was kinda kewl that they separated with highlighter who is saying what and to whom but I think its cheating the people out of the whole bible because they will only look at the highlighted areas to go preach to people, without the full knowledge they are just teaching what they read for the day or month etc.

The quran used to be treated with the same respect as Guru Granth Sahib Ji way back in the day.

A Sikh was reading Gurbani and heard GuruSahib was coming and they put their gutka down in a special place for it. Guru Sahib sobbed with tears down his face from his eyes. The Sikh being very alarmed begged GuruJi "What happened?, how can I help?" GurSahib said "You let dust get on my Bani and that dust is the same in my eyes, you should cover with respect to keep clean pysically and spiritually." (From what I remember)

Thats why we cover with rumalla etc and why we wash our hands before touching and studying(paat).

I used to go to my area Gurughars and cover all the gutkas in the building(about 100-150) with rumallas and covered the cupboard specially made to house the gutkas, and then the respect deserved is visible to all in Sangat. granthiJi understood after a min (he was like what the heck are you doing) taking someout and covering and organising Sukhmanis with Sukhmanis, Asa-ki-vaars etc and I also bought a few Sundar Gutkas nice ones and after a week they were gone (Im glad they went to "deserving hands")

We are not supposed to dance to find God, as sufi and turkish people spin in circles as a dance to become one with God. Guru teaches us how to be one with God.

As a Sikh should stay on a marg finer than a hair and sharper than a sword I find it hard to find energy and time to dance. (Im not even close to that level so.....) If you are very educated then instead of idle time and dancing they should go and ignite other Sikhs spiritual candles. Im not saying if you dance you are retarded or anything because when I play my music I find myself moving to the riddems also

a dance is the body submitting to the sound waves and the music takes the bodies emotions and blends them with the dance, but you cant find God merely from dancing, you can through music though, from what GuruJi teaches constantly. This is why we should listen to positive music and lyrics.

I have been told by many amritdharis mainly the old ones that in gursikhi, it is the dharma(duty) of a wife to serve her husband and by doing so, she will be rewarded in the afterlife.

I personally dont agree with this. I feel that both wife and husband shud serve each other and treat each other as a fellow sikh and give the same respect to each other as we give to other gursikhs.

Both wife and husband shud share the workload(both domestic and outside) so that both the partners have enough time to do bhagti.

There is a singh who strongly believes in this theory of wifes dharma to serve her pati parmesar. His wife works in a school, then takes care of her kids and parents in law and then has to do seva of pati "parmesar". I find this EXPLOITATION.

A man should have gurmat actions so he would never take advantage of his wonderful loving wife. He should know he is leading the family with strength and knowledge and shares it with his wife as well as relying on his wife for the same return. The wife should feel her marrriage with her husband is the same as being married to God, with almost the same relationship and mental state, then you have a perfect relationship foundation. The husband knows God is within everything just as much as his wife so he should treat her with dignity and upmost respect menatally/physically/spiritually. The man will feel blessed with everything and every action of his wife and vice versa. If you dont get this, it is because you are too stuck in the modern thinking of marriages. its not merely a woman submitting to her husband as a sentence sounds. bibek is constantly remembered

I feel the word 'jatha' in sikhi means a group of gursikhs collectively working to perform a certain task. So there is nuthing wrong in having jathas in the panth.

I believe a jatha is sorta like a revolution to the problems people are facing from within. Each decade the problems are different. for example lets say in 1890 people thought the huge modern day problem was Sikhs were allowing muslims and hindus worship in the GuruGhar because they were persecuted by both their religious communities for being friends with Sikhs or poor people would only use the Langarhall but were wicked people thinking they could eat for free and never donate or do seva or anything to helpout with the services they expected etc. and now a days our problems are some Sikhs cutting their hair and nonGurSikhs running and ruining the Gurdwara. but the twist is, back in the day Sikhs were very very persecuted and all the haircutters ran the Gurdwaras while the GurSikhs had to hide in the forests, we say non Amritdharis should run the Gurdwaras (which is true from modern hukamnama but not at that time because that time had different problems, as in life or death of a Sikh for only 5 rupees) Times change and so do the problems. Jathas will also have morphing and changing ways and habits.

Khalsa Panth is the Sikh "Jatha" of world religions because we think ours and others have theirs yet we are all the same but slightly different, so I think Sikhi is a form of jatha to the world. We arent trying to make you ours we are sharing our views with whoever wants to accept it, just as a jatha should operate.

I also dont think jatha makes you lets say hate on others out of your jatha its the responsibility of the individual Sikh to understand not to do that, if you blame a jatha then youre just a robot anyway.
