  1. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Thanks for ur suggestions .....I nva tried the patka over a keski........But I 'll try that...I think u want to suggest sometihing like ppl wear during playing gatka............I will do one thing I will take a piece of cloth or my THATHI and tie it over my keski.............. Hope it works... .... Apart from my problem I just wanted to draw some attention towards the problem of Sikhs in general.............. I understand that sikhs have fought wars with turbans on and especiallythe mighty nahangs who din eva ... tried a keski....but those bulky turbans.... But at the same time I feel it uncomfortable especially because it becomes loose..as I have explained earlier.........Patka ofcourse is a comfortable option but I feel disgusting wearing it,at the same time..... Because ppl just don wear it in the field but .........U c Habhajan Singh ..... He don restrict itr to the field... He never tried wearing a turban... be it ads or what ever......... So in general it deteriotes the image of sikhs in general..... :yehyehyeh: I also mentioned the case of indian army............... Sikh soldiers might have fought world wars with turbans........ but the sikh soldiers in Indian Army in modern times are wearing patkas...............though Indian Army discourages it...... when I was a NCC cadets my commanding officers neva allowed me to wear a patka.................So is Patka going to be a all time wear for sikhs...........??? If it is so............I don like it at all........ Bhul Chuk Muaf
  2. I wish to pray to guru sahib for forgiveness before I start this topic. May guru sahib bless me with knowledge to undo my confusion and problems. I again wish to appologise my fellow sikhs for any inapropriate questions and comments. I am writing it because I am facing some problems due to my turban when I go for play. Actually I am one of those guys who are absolutely proud of their turban and sabat surat status and sometimes feel guilty for not being amritdhari yet. But there are times when I face problems due to the things which I am proud of. These days I am into playing lawn tannis but during play I am not able to play with full vigour as my turban becomes loose after some time and the sweat makes me feel uncomfortable especially because I have severe dandruff problem. I normally go to change room before play and wear keski, which is slightly comfortable but it becomes loose just in matter of minutes during play. It has happened many times that I have to rush to the change room to tie my keski again midway a game. I can't consider patkas as a option, as I feel that those are for kids and not ment for a person of my age. I can't opt for cap for the reason u all know. So that l imits my performance. Do u think that one should wear patkas to .............. This makes me think about my fellow sikhs who has got potential to diplay in sports but find these limitations. Especially those bike and car lovers who are also devout sikhs may never be able to participate in formula racing because safety device like halmet is considered a cap. Air force pilots also face similer problems. Don't you think that halmet is a safety device and not a cap. I work in assam and I happen to meet lot of sikh soldiers involved with various insurgency operations in this state of India. Sometimes they have to carry out operations in which time period extends over 24 hours. Turban is ofcourse a very uncomfortable option for such kind of opertaions. I myself start feeling uncomfortable if I wear Turban for over 12-14 hours a day. These soldiers are then compelled to wear patkas. So next time you are in Assam you might find a sikh soldier at some post wearing a patka. Do u think this is a right kind of attire for a soldier. Will it make him feel as proud as he feel in a turban.I don't Think so. I wonder how nihangs wear those huge turbans for so ong. Isn't all this confusing. :T: I don't know what to conclude. But will this confusion continue for ever. :T: I am sorry for any Bhul Chuk Kindly bare with ur fellow brother Wahe guroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  3. Piyarey Khalsa ji....... Waheguru Ji ki Fateh It's so depressing to think that we sikhs have not been able to eradicate caste based distinction from society after 300 years of creation of khalsa. Guru sahib made it quite clear that sikh has no caste by changing his own name from Gbind Rai to Gobind Singh. When guru sahib did so how come we ppl still continue to follow the caste system and use surnames other than Singh. This is sheer disobidience to Guru ji's directive. Actually one of the problems is than we have not been able to organise ourself till date. There is no single point contol of sikh community. That's why ppl follw their own principles which sometimes violate the sikh code of conduct. And Nobody is there to correct them. And I think if Akal takhat advises them to comply with certain codes of conduct they will not accept it. So there has to be a supreme seat which is just and comprise of gursikhs from all over the world and has enough power to direct sikhs any where in the world :e: If we can not ask sikh population in general to shed their cast based surnames , there should be a rule that when a person takes amrit he has to shed his castebased surname and use only Singh as his surname or some other system of surnames should be evolved which is not caste based. This is not possible unless some authority like akal takhal organise it. Only preaching will not do. How can you expect ppl to be experts without imparting knowledge to them. :T: Akhal Takhat will have to issue a directive in this regard just as it did by banning marriages outside gurudwara. Akal Takhat Did issue a directive long time back by which it advised sikhs to append names of their villages etc. inplace of thier caste based surnames but it has not been implemented till date and even amritdhari ppl continue to Be Jats , ramgarhias , etc .etc. " Let us all be sikhs and not Jats, Ramgarhias etc. etc. Let us all be sons of Dasam Pita". Guru Sahib bacame a 'Chela' (Wah Wah Gobind Singh ,Aapey Gur Chela) to teach us these things but we murakhs continue to be stupids and not understand his teachings. Bhul Chuk Muaf Daljit
  4. Militancy will result in bloodshed and sufferings and outcome will be nothing else..............the sole purpose of khalsa should be to create a just society for all.......weather sikhs, hindus, muslims or anybody....................Creation of khalsistan will not assure that...... as we can not eliminate fightings and evils in our gurdwaras and revered places.. .................... Lets create a just society...... a just society for all..... That's the only way to rever the secrifice given by Guru Teg Bahadur ji...... ......he did not do it for himself or the sikhs .........he did it for the whole society ....... :e:
  5. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! hi fellow sikhs............ it's reallya confusing topic and many of u have got the logic.....but u know................the sikh philosophy put emphasis on the will of akal purakh........we wish to not to undo his creation and will.......................we do not shorn our hairs......because this is a gift of akalpurakh and we should keep it intact( though there are manyother reasons for it) Similarly akal purakh has created different sexes to satisfy our needs........so lets follow the akal purak's wish and seek gratification in the way god has desired...i.e. hetrosexuality........grihast jeevan............that's the only way to keep lust in control as per sikh philosophy........ ...... male companionship is not made for sex...... let's ....understand that........ MOD: GURU PYARE SADH SANGAT JEO, BEFORE POSTING ON THIS TOPIC PLS READ THE FULL THREAD, AND THEN POST  THANK U
  6. Waheguru ji ki fateh. A Mesage to all u brothers who favor khalistan...... Dear khalsaji ...we have sen lot of blod shed in india ..... some might justfy it and some won't....... no doubt what happend at darbar sahib in 84 and the pendemonium which foloed shook the whole community ........but veerji......do u think khalistan state is a justifiable solution................... We always think of creating eutopian societies but that ner happens..... fights even happen in gurdwara complexes and betwen sikh brotheren............. Even a state of Khalistan is created a just society may not still be created coz injustice wil keep on happening.....ya !which ppl suffer that might vary................................ ! What we need to create is a just society.................... that what we mean by khalsa raj....... coz Jahan jahan khalsa jiu sahib tahan tahan rachiya riyat, Deg Teg Fateh, Bird ki Paij , Sri Sahib Hi Sahaye...... Did Guru Teg Bahadur Secrifised his life for Khalistan or for for the sikhs...................................no he did it to bring justice to the Kashmiri Pundits.......... So did all our martyors................ OK We Do create Khalistan to for Sikhs then what about the non sikhs living in Punjab and what about the Sikhs living in opther parts of India or world....... Do u want the same scene to happen as happ ened in India during partition 0f 1947...... Do think veerji this is right
