yeah im not too sure about UK but in the CF(Canadian Forces) you can have a beard its just you have to put a ramal over your head instead of the turban. and you have to have a clean shaven face if your infantry because the gasmaks are designed to be flush against skin. there are other parts of the CF that have no restriction though.
