Depends what your plans are....this would decide where best to stay. the weather's not going to be extremely hot that time of year so i doubt that you'd like to be near find an apartment near Les Rambla....the main road in Barcelona. many things are walking distance from here...shops, eating, architecture. if you want somewhere more quieter then an area called Diagonal Mar or olympic village: nice area, some restaurants and supermarket to do your shopping. there's a metro station near which is useful but it's in a quieter area. you will have to take metro everywhere. if you're vegetarian....be prepared to eat lots of chips, veggie paella and salad and i would advise to learn the spanish for "vegetarian" "no egg" "no fish"
  2. I think that one should be allowed to Pesh as many times as one likes to pesh, BUT not a Tuesday!
  3. Hi Singh To answer your questions: 1) yes you MUST wash your kesh before taking amrit. 2) we are guided by our Guru's to stay away from bad sangat. This may not always be possible, but it should be avoided wherever you can. 3) I have heard it is between 2 and 5. Earlier the better. 4) go to sleep when you're tired
  4. It's all about INTENT. If you intended to take the Holy Water then you must pesh. If you did not intend to do it before you went into Church then it's ok. I'm very worried about you....you're login name suggests that you have a love for Christianity - which is ok, because God is in all. BUT you must ask yourself the question: Did Jesus really rise from the dead?
  5. It's on page 640 in the standard amrit kirtan and panaa 255 in SGGSJ. It's a Salok and is only 2 line long and begins with "jhalange" and is spelt with a jhaja....as in ... chacha chhachha jaja jhaja hope this helps.
  6. I think people are getting carried away. It's becuase of the blimmin Canadians and their problems which forced there to be a decision about chairs and tables. The concept is about eating langar is about equality. Equality means sitting on one level, whether that be on floor, chairs or upside down. Sitting on chairs does not take you away from Sikhi.....it's not realising that we are all equal. respect!
  7. Apart from the profanity, this is one of the best articles that I have read....I emailed the author who said that he will try and tone down the language used the next time that he updates his site and apologises if he has caused offence without the intention to do so. Read the authors profile and try and relate to him rather than being self-righteous and ignorant.
