  1. Wear it in dumalla, gupt style, but remember where you position it for ease of access. You can get 4 inch to 5 inch ones that will still do the game if need be... Make sure the handle of it aint showing either otherwise they will ask you about it...

Wearing a symobolic one is useless. You end up kidding yourself for not being steadfast and not trying every means possible first.

  2. We should leave the past behind, and accept the present and dont worry about future because then we will be accepting the hukam. everything is under the hukam, gurbani teaches us to accept the hukam.

Let god do justice, all of them that harm others will get their fruits of their deeds back. no one escapes the law of karma.

why should we take the matter in our hands. i know its hard to forget whats happened, but if you dont, you will still have the hate inside you. hate wont get you nowhere, if we start to hate hindus for what they did, we are not gona get anywhere, gurbani teaches us to love all creation, and accept gods hukam.

that way we will be at peace and will focus on GOD and our bhagti rather than what happened in past.

forgiveness is the name of the GOD, let it be the light in your eyes and forgive everyone. when we forgive others, god forgives us as well. thats the law of nature, what we give to nature, comes back to us.

Would you forgive the man that repeatedly raped your mother bitting into her cheek while he enjoyed himself at your mums expense?

Would you forgive the police officer who abducted your 15 year old sister up from her way back from school, for her then only to be tortured and raped to death?

Would you forgive the man who kicked your pregnant partner making them to lose your unborn child?

One can only truly forgive if they are detached from the other party, their actions and the situation and 5 vikkars, this is showing God's real virtue of forgivness. 99.8% of people on this earth are most likely not capable of this. Are you this bhai sahib ji? Are we this here on SS this?

Forgivness is not just simply saying 'I forgive you' then holding unpleasant thoughts against them afterwards. It just doesn't work like that... It is good that you are looking up to the high values and virtues derived from Gurbani and pointing us in the right direction, but daas does not pretend to be something that daas isn't, daas is not on that level of spirituality where everything is True/Vaheguroo. Its just like trying to say its okay to be a gay Sikh because the end game is that its all about the soul, when really gays are sexually attracted to each other - suffer from 5 vikkars, therefore hinding behind something which they cannot truly live up to themselves.

In the movement there were Singhs who did truly forgive perpetrators of inhumane acts, however they rememebered that they also have a duty to perform for the betterment of humanity so when these people repeated their actions again, they were delivered to the court of real justice permenantely. These Singhs rememebered why we were blessed with a Kirpan for (not just to perform Bhog with like many Sikhs today).

There is nothing wrong in remembering, this does not automatically lead to hate brewing up. But to forget and turn a blind eye means that one can never truly learn from the lessons of history or maybe don't want to accept what has happened and have little compassion. People guilty of this will also be aiding perpertrators in a subtle way, for them only to continually feed their nasty habits and have free reign until they naturally pass. All just because true justice is waiting for them in the hereafter and they do not feel it is right to take action in any way, shape or form in the here and present. Where is the compassion in that? Where is the greater love for Gods creation? Should we be ruled by tyrants and lost minded individuals consumed by kaam, krodh, lobh, moh and hunkar? How will the light of Truth ever come about if we dont take action be it in the life we live and the life that we are part of, humanity?

Finally also remember this though bhai sahib ji, all those that choose to take a stand are also bound by Hukam and it is Hukam too for justice in the here and present to be delivered in one way or the other when it is the case... so please do not mention Hukam is this and that when one cannot comprehend all of the bigger picture.

  3. Giani Thakur Singh Jee says in their katha that doing jaap of Gayetri Mantar (Gobindhai mukandai udhaarai apaarai...etc) helps to get rid of laziness (sustee).

maybe try doing a maalaa every morning b4 nitnem. goodluck

Say Vaheguroo after every mantar is finished and continue like this.

You got to believe in it for it to work, if you have doubts 'o will this really work?', then you will remain stuck in the position you currently are in.

  4. That last remark just shows how low we have fallen. A shaheed is a shaheed regardless of jatha they are shaheeds of the khalsa panth. All the world acknowledges the kurbani and significance of that day and the turning point in sikh history of that event.

Please dont cheapen their shahheedi and make it a jatha thing. Bullets dont discriminate and neither does the enemies of the panth. All they see is a sikh rising up against the oppressor.

Just to correct all of you there were also person from normal sangat who had affiliation with any jatha. Everyone shaheed were members of the khalsa panth the greatest jatha.

    ^^ Spot on... Vaheguroo

  5. Still would of liked to see the part where he getting roughed up and having a shotgun waved in his face and stuck to his chest rather than him trying to write and apology on video.

O well maybe next time somebody will get trigger happy and help him out a little to breathe more easily so he isn't as nervous on screen

  6. Wjkk Wjkf

Thank you so much for considering creating a room for sikhi, and related 'stuff'! Ill give it a pass tho, if you dont mind!

    Fateh Ji

No problems Singha, im sure there wud be plenty of youngens here that would like :D

Any suggestiosn improvements will be welcomed.

    :) ))))

(so many views no replies) :gg: :homer

Keep thinking why bhai sahib jio you will get there eventually. :p

Lets just hope the 'Sikhi room' isn't Punjabified too

  7. The very sad thing is that we as a community have reached such a stage where one Sikh cannot even do veechar of Gurbani, our very purpose of life as Guru-vale, without being made to feel like a heretic.

    Shaabash khalsa fauj!

When veechar is done with nimrata, pyaar and in sehaj then no issues arise of animosity and none is left feeling like a heretic for having a disscussion. Instead both parties should leave with a sense of self betterment.

But when one is not open to others opinions, interpretations and views (lacking appreciation for others views) then veechar will never take place in its real sense. Just a 'dressed up' attempt to push your own personal view. The internet doesn't help with this either - it allows for unaccounatbility, veechar is always going to better done in person.

  8. So sorry internet savvy Giani Ji worthy.gif please do Ardaas for the betterment of daas's jeevan, internet knowledge and forum understanding, lmao...

I am not a "Giani". I suggest you check its proper definition first. I do ardaas for gursikhi jeevan to Guru Sahib and you can do it for yourself too.

Nah, you dont say... Looks like your getting better at finding out things for 4 sure now.

Don't worry daas will do Ardaas for you Bhai Sahib Jio even if you dont want to do one for daas :D

  9. Seems like all these internet Gianis also suffer from 5 vikkars too - only real Sant Gianis are exmept from this.

Real ones are hard to find and I hardly doubt you will find one on the internet. This is a discussion forum where people can do veechar and share their thoughts in case you haven't noticed.

O touchy touchy... But there still remains something wrong in the highlighted statements, hahahah... You can't brush that one to the side so easily bhai sahib ji. The truth will always come out in the end and you've shown that here in this post jio.

Yep thats why the first part applies to internet gianis and the second part to REAL, maybe daas should of been more clear here to emphasise this point. The REAL ones are indeed very unlikely to be surfing the jam packed internet when they can be out surfing different realms without rush hour traffic.

Forgive daas for this mistake. So sorry internet savvy Giani Ji :WW: please do Ardaas for the betterment of daas's jeevan, internet knowledge and forum understanding, lmao...

Gurbani is beyond any limits hence being limitless...

Viyakaran can and should be used to interpret Gurbani but as soon as one says Gurbani can only be interpreted using viyakaran then one has limited Gurbani to that measure...

100% true. Especially seeing as the viyakaaran used today only made its appearance recently.

Gurbani is a Saroop of Akaal Purkh and it's true form can only be known through 'anubhav' as stated in the first pauri of Jaap Sahib and implied throughout Guru Sahib and Bhai Gurdas' Vaaran.

However, any study of Gurbani is good.

    :goodpost: :vaheguru:

  10. I humbly disagree with their interpretation of the first pankti. Bhai Randhir Singh's interpretation is much better though not 100% correct. When I meet Giani Ji and other katha vaachaks I would surely ask them questions for veechar.
pal07, I don't think you have learned anything moral from sampardas of yours. Sending insulting pms is not an act of a person who pretends to know something about Gurbani. I can provide numerous examples from Gurbani rejecting Vedas and Katebas. I will say it openly. You are wrong about the interpretation and so is Taksal. Bhai Randhir Singh is correct. Deal with it.

Think theres definitely something wrong here however!...

Seems like all these internet Gianis also suffer from 5 vikkars too - only real Sant Gianis are exmept from this.

  11. Didn't the BBC have a similar debate just this April gone? or is it different?

    http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?showtopic=36056

Maybe there will be a third, then a fourth and so on soon, because some people out there (BBC staff and certain sections of the UK public) aint getting the debate to go in their favour <_< .

What a waste of taxpayers money paying Mr Parrot to host yet another debate... you muppets :p . But the BBC enjoy doing that don't they...

To all those that held it down once again :vaheguru:

  12. Fateh,

How do you insert youtube video onto sikhsangat so the screen shows up in the comments box . i.e. i dont want the link showing i want the screen so you can click on it.

    Thanks

When you click to post or reply. On your left hand side (under the emoticons box) it says Quick Access, click on this.

In the white box that shows up just put the video code in. eg for this one http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=MEysO96Yzfo

it would be just MEys096Yzfo that you need to paste into the box.

Daas already done it for you on the other thread. :p (as thanks for the info you gave earlier) :D
