But it is not out of our hands to organise a youth vigil? Currently, in Leicester, we have decided that the youth will donate blood in the month of November (date to be confirmed) in rememberance of those who's blood has stained the 'democratic' hands of India. This could be a nationwide event, where we come together and remember those who lost their lives in these anti-sikh pogroms, we just need event organisers - anyone? Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Sad Sangat Ji ! We are very grateful for the amazing personal responses we have recieved to our initial post. We have had many mails from people all over the country who wish to be a part of our campaign. We are more than willing to add everyone to our list of memebers. however to be an active part of this Campaign we would wish for our members to be present for the meetings. We understand that this cannot always be the case. So all of our veers and penji's who have shown an interest will be accounted for at the meeting, sent the minutes and any litreture for forthcoming programs etc. So, if if it is that you can't make all meetings, but will be able to be an active part, or can make a few at a time, please do still consider this. We're more than willing to accomodate; as we realise the more restrctions we have, the less our turnout, and works will suffer. Our only wish is that this not be an information database, but actually an active foundation. Please do let us know should you wish this to be the case, and thank you once again for all the support. Again, apologies for this. As many of you will be aware the stronghold of Youth in Sikhi is ever increasing, as we here in Leicester, UK would like to continue this, and preserve as much of the Sikh youth thought as we can. We've grown to know and love Sikhi through Sikhi Nights, and once upon a time, Khalsa Camp Leicester. - Too much time has gone since these events, and as I was once told, by an American lady, that if WE don't take care of our Sikhi now, She and her faith will take care of it for us - she is right. We ourselves risk losing Sikhi - FOREVER. So - it's time now for us, the YOUTH of SIKHI to take the blessing of our father, Dashmesh Pita, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and continue the works that some of our panths "leaders" have forgotten. We're looking to introduce a new Youth Campaign for us, The Youth to organise events for The Youth. We will be holding a meeting this Saturday at 6PM at Guru Tegh Bahadhur Gurudwara, 106 East Park Road, Leicester (FED ROOM) We invite anyone on this list who feels they can devote time and effort for the seva of preserving our Sikhi, educating ourselves and ensuring that non of us forget what an amazing religion we are born into - through the youth. The meeting is a non-commital induction to the current ideas/issues and plans the Leicester Youth wish to bring to the forefront of our Gurudwara's. (PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT COMMITEE or POLITICS BASED) - We're not interested in any running of the Gurudwara Sahib's but are simply 100% commiting and devoting ourselves to preserving our Sikhi through Seva by the Youth.
