  2. An excellent intiative, please do more events like this, but dont associate with Dal Khalsa, they are against Gurmat, Sri Dasam Granth and are only good for releasing statements. Why do BSSF support Dal Khalsa UK.

Points to note before making any judgement -

This project is to raise funds for charity.

Dal Khalsa UK were told to book the venue and bare the financial costs.

BSSF is the lead organisation and has the final say in what is allowed and rejected.

Its not only Dal Khalsa UK, but Shere Panjab UK, Ramgarhia Sikh Association (Slough) and individual Sewadars are also involved in the event.

This is not a Dharmik Diwan, it's a Football Tournament, all are welcome, But BSSF will control and monitor any Parchar and anything found inappropriate will be stop!

Last years Shere Panjab Football Tournament in Sept 2009 was also supported by DKI, as well as Sewadars from Singhs Row and BOSS (BOSS STALL).

  5. "SUMMONS ISSUED AGAINST INDIAN MINISTER KAMAL NATH IN UNITED STATES COURT FOR ROLE IN NOVEMBER 1984 SIKH GENOCIDE"

    nath.jpg

KAMAL NATH ORDERED TO RESPOND BY APRIL 28, 2010 IN US COURT

Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), a U.S. based non-profit national human rights advocacy group, has filed an historic civil lawsuit under the Alien Tort Claims Act against India's Union Minister, Kamal Nath, for his participation in the 1984 genocide of the Sikhs in Delhi, India. SFJ filed the suit along with two individuals who were directly affected by the November 1984 Sikh genocide. The lawsuit has been docketed (10 CV 2940 ) in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, and has been assigned to Honorable Judge Sweet. The District Court has issued a summons and Minister Nath must respond within 21 days.

Minister Kamal Nath is accused of human rights violations for being a leader in India's 1984 genocide of 3,000 Sikhs and the displacement of over 300,000 Sikhs. On November 1st 1984 Kamal Nath was a member of Parliament and was witnessed leading an armed mob in which many of Sikh were burnt alive during an attack on a Sikh temple in New Delhi.

According to SFJ attorney Pannun lawsuit against Kamal Nath has been filed under ALIEN TORT CLAIMS ACT(ATCA) AND THE TORTURE VICTIM PROTECTION ACT (TVPA) because of the failure of the Indian government to enforce human rights protections and hold violators accountable. According to attorney Gurpatwant S. Pannun, of Sikhs for Justice "U.S. law provides a remedy to victims of human rights violations that have been committed abroad and allows the victims to bring a lawsuit against the perpetrator in the U.S. Federal District Court." Attorney Pannun added that "Despite several witnesses who saw Kamal Nath inciting and leading the mob, Nath has been successfully escaping justice under the Indian system for more than 25 years using his influence and position in the ruling Congress (I) party.

SFJ is holding a Justice Rally against Minister Nath's U.S. visit this Thursday, April 8thfrom 7A.M. – 10 A.M at 49th Street and 6th Avenue (in front of the McGraw Hill Building) where Kamal Nath will be attending a gathering of the U.S. India Business Council. The rally organized by Sikhs for Justice is being supported by the Gurudwara Management Committees across the United States.

SIKHS FOR JUSTICE, a US based human rights advocacy group, which is striving to disseminate true and correct information, statistics, figures and data regarding the Genocide of Sikhs in November 1984 and is mobilizing Human Rights Groups and International Community on a common platform. SIKHS FOR JUSTICE is pursuing the legal battle to get the justice for the victims of November 1984 Sikh Genocide with the support of ALL INDIA SIKH STUDENTS FEDERATION, a social political organization headed by Karnail Singh Peermohammad. SFJ maintains that the genocide of India's Sikh population was state orchestrated because Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was killed by two Sikh bodyguards.

  6. can you tell us why people had a problem with Deepa herawale's photo up? and who?

Deepa was a clean shave "mona" and this wasn't to the liking of some radical elements within the Sikh Youth community.

Only Amritdhari, 9 inch Kirpan wearing, Dumalla wearing, Chola wearing People are acceptable to these people and many were upset at the programme to see this attitude.

Deepa inspires the Sikh Nation as he was just a common person and not a Saintly figure of previous. More spiritually people are also greatly respected but "average" people like Deepa gave the message that everyone can do what they did.

  7. The British Sikh Student Federation fully believes in the Supremacy of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib and is bachan-vadh to all Hukamnama's passed by the Highest Authority of Sikh's.

We urge all Sikh Sangat to protest against the arrival of Darshan Lal Ragi and to ensure he is not allowed on the stages of any Guru-Ghar in the UK.

Members of the British Sikh Student Federation will be present today at the protest.

  9. Shaheed Bhai Harminder Singh Sandhu is a Shaheed.

BSSF will always say that Bhai Sandhu is a Shaheed.

Baba Manochchal was also "blackened" by Taksal in the say way!

Singh, he still doesn't even regard Sant Jarnail Singh as a Shaheed, what can you say about such people?

There isnt a single organisation in Punjab which regards Sant Ji as alive except for Amrik Singh Ajnala Faction of Taksal.

These people have no base to stand on.

    Phoola was killed by non-amritdhari's

Jinda and Sukha never took amrit

Where did Dalwar Singh Take amrit from?

One miss guide person said that Deepa Heyrawala took santhiya from Taksal????????/ - If so why were BOSS Singhs complaining about his poster at the Ludhiana Conference at Havelock rd in december?

Talwinder Singh Parmar was a jathedar and general of the Sikh Nation but many talk ill of him because he wore a farla!

BSSF will not debate with such narrow minded people. We have decared our programme and we will follow it through as stated in the out set.

  10. This is the first time i am hearing of someone who is praising Sandhu publicly. Sandhu was gardar to the khalistani movement and everybody knows that.

Many also said that Baba Manochchal was a traitor and many in the UK despise of Jathedar Talwainder Singh Babbar!

If establishing 3,000 Khalsa Panchayats (thats Amritdhari's only in the village councils) and continuously demanding Total independence and nothing less makes you a traitor then so be it.

Bhagat Singh, Udham Singh were called traitors by the Majority "Ghandi/Congress" Nexus who had the greatest influence during the Indian Independence movement, the same seems to apply here.

If time can heal wounds, then it can surely shed light upon the truth.

  11. Erm not really, once the movement was at a standstill (92) leavin Punjab wouldn't count as leavin the battlefield. As there was no battle to fight no more, the first phase was over once most of the jujharoos became shaheed, leavin to survive wasn't cowardly and it wasn't betrayal either. u speak like u have done so much, don't put others down if u ain't done anything yourself. Plus this ain't about that either, this is about harminder Singh sandhu.

This is simply a explanation about our views on Bhai Sandhu, we are not engaging upon your debate.

He was General Secretary of the All India Sikh Students Federation under the leadership of Shaheed Bhai Amrik Singh. Even during Bhai Amrik Singh time in prison during the Dharam Yudh Morcha, the All India Sikh Students Federation continued to participate in all Panthic programmes with ever growing support from the Sikh Youth all across India. The Federation did not waver from its course or face any form of fractioning during this time and Bhai Harminder Singh Sandhu must be given full credit for this.

Many Jujaroo Singhs came out of the All India Sikh Students Federation to join Kadkhu Organisations such as Babbar Khalsa, Khalistan Liberation Force, Khalistan Commando Force, Bhindranwale Tiger Force and Bhai Harminder Singh Sandhu’s own founded Organisation, Khalistan “National Army.”

Bhai Harminder Singh Sandhu was also responsible for organising the formation of over 3,000 Khalsa Panchayats. (Village Councils) If Bhai Sahib was not murdered by those he considered his own, there is no doubt that all 13,000 of Punjab’s villages would have adopted Khalsa Panchayats and literally converted the whole of Punjab’s countryside into Khalistan, thus outnumbering any suggestion of a anti Khalistan drive in the Urban areas.

Whilst many respected Jujaroo Singhs wavered from an outright demand of Khalistan and sometimes reverting to just greater autonomy for Punjab, Bhai Harminder Singh Sandhu alongside Jathedar Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochal stuck to their guns and only demanded Khalistan, a separate country for the Sikhs.

At that time the majority termed both of these mahaan (Great) Singhs as traitors but today those same people look down in shame when the names of Bhai Harminder Singh Sandhu and Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochal are mentioned.

  12. Bhai Harminder Singh Sandhu, Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochahal, Jathedar Talwinder Singh Babbar and General Shubeg Singh are four people who have been overlooked when it comes to preaching about our glourious modern Sikh history.

BSSF has planned a number of programmes across 2010 in memory of these great souls.

Bhai Harminder Singh Sandhu - Charity Gaming Tournament and Kirtan Darbar in March at Ilford.

Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochchal - Khalsa Raj Gurmat Camp in May at Bradford.

General Shubeg Singh - Shaheedi Football Tournament in Hayes/Southall in July.

Jathedar Talwinder Singh Babbar - Sri Akhand Patth Sahib and Shaheedi Conference in October at Smethwick.

A 5 day Camp has also been finalised by BSSF for August.

A Shaheedi Samagam has also been confirmed in memory of the sacrifices of Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji and Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale.

British Sikh Student Federation would like to express its greatest gratitude and respect to a Panthic Leader, Inspiration and Icon, Shaheed Bhai Harminder Singh Sandhu.

At that time the majority termed both of these mahaan (Great) Singhs as traitors but today those same people look down in shame when the names of Bhai Harminder Singh Sandhu and Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochal are mentioned.

Furthermore, when some people turned towards supporting the Government after some small bribes or assurances, Bhai Harminder Singh Sandhu continued to demand Khalistan, even whilst in Prison.

The British Sikh Student Federation has organised a Charity Gaming Tournament at Mata Sahib Kaur Academy on the 27th March 2010. Awards will be given to the winner, runner up, third place and a Goal Boot award for the person that scores the most goals.

For so long, Bhai Harminder Singh Sandhu has been pushed around by those attacking him for them to meet their own ends, however this will no longer be the case as the British Sikh Student Federation will defend and support Bhai Sahib at every opportunity.

  14. VahegurooJiKaKhalsaVahegurooJiKiFateh

Daas has emailed BSSF about this event but they have not replied. Maybe I'll have more luck here, in short I really think you should re-consider holding this kind of event in a Gurdwara Sahib, or even in the name of Sikhi at all. While its definetly for a worthy cause, bringing video games to where maharaj is parkash is not the way to do so. You are supposed to come to the Gurdwara Sahib to ESCAPE from maya, not get engrossed in it. Somehow I doubt any of us would do this in front of Guru Gobind Singh Ji's physical hazoori, Guru Granth Sahib Ji should not be considered any different. How about something like an actual football tournament instead?

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh,

    Firstly, sorry for not replying.

The gaming event will not be held in the darbar hall but in a sports hall at the Academy, especially dedicated for such programmes.

This programme has attracted the attention of those people that would never attend a Kirtan Darbar, by this i mean to say that they have not yet formed any connection or understanding of Kirtan.

This is a basic programme to get such people into Gurdwara's and get them interested by learning about Sikh causes and how/why they should get involved.

The participants will be given talks on Sikhi and Political Activism as well as a update on future events.

In terms of a football tournament. We organised a Football Tournament in September, Shere Panjab Football Tournament. We raised over £10,000 for charities and 38 5-a-side teams participated, including 10 non-sikh teams!

If you want to take part in organising a similar event in your area or undertake some seva in our future events then we would consider ourselves most fortunate.

  15. BSSF ON CURRENT KIRPAN CONTROVERSY

    kirpan-UK-267x300.jpg

The British Sikh Student Federation expresses its disappointment and condemnation at recent articles and blog posts regarding the Sikh right to wear the Kirpan in Schools and educational institutions, namely by Hardeep Singh Kohli and Sunny Hundal. The disappointment comes at the fact that not only are individuals expressing their hurtful views that are contrary to the British law, which allows Sikhs to wear a Kirpan as an article of faith, but the individuals expressing their views pride themselves of having Sikh heritage.

Hardeep Singh Kohli, better known as the pink turbaned BBC presenter/comedian who was recently suspended by the BBC following a complaint from a female colleague regarding Kohli’s inappropriate behaviour, feels he has the right to question and more worryingly the wisdom to challenge the Sikh right to wear a Kirpan which has been cemented in by the British Law.

Mr Kohli in his guardian article entitled “Mightier than the Kirpan” on the guardian.co.uk website, made no secret of his personal views against the Kirpan being allowed in UK Schools by arguing “What if the Kirpan were forcibly removed and used”?.

He went on in his article to condemn Sir Mota Singh QC, who was recently knighted by the Queen. Sir Mota Singh had decided to speak in favour for Sikh rights, but Kohli in his article decided to recklessly interpret that as “he thinks it’s OK for kids to take knives to class”.

We condemn Hardeep Singh Kohli’s reckless article. At a sensitive time when Sikhs are trying their hardest to get more rights and be recognized as a distinct contributing religion, these articles do little to help the cause. Mr Kohli already knows that Under the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (section 139) and Criminal Justice 1996 (section 3 and 4) allows anyone to carry a blade exceeding the length of 3 inches for religious, cultural or work related reasons. The Criminal Justice Act and the 2003 Religious Discrimination Act safeguards the Sikhs to carry the Kirpan. The former BBC presenter also added “I’m simply not comfortable with knives being allowed into school”.

If British Law safeguards this Sikh right by making a provision for it then why does Mr Kohli have a problem with it? Sunny Hundal was also seen to jump on the misguided band wagon with his comments on his pickledpolitics.com blog. Hundal who in the past has made no secret of his opposition to elements in Sikhism drew Sikh attention with his latest comments. In his blog he wrote, “The chances of finding a Sikh saying that the Kirpan is eccentric are as low as the chances of a Sikh saying that the Gurus were idiots”

After his unmasking knack at sarcasm, he also wrote “There may even be cases where Sikhs are running around stabbing people – in which case a school may like to step in and put in a complete ban. I’m in favour of local decisions based on local conditions”.

Concocting such highly unlikely scenarios with his bizarre imagination does not help his past reputation with Sikhs in Britain. Mr Hundal came to the wider Sikh attention when he was seen to be part of what many described as a “smear campaign against Sikhs” on BBC Radio 4 when British Sikh Student Federation Condemn the unhelpful comments of both Kohli and Hundal regarding the Sikh right to wear a Kirpan in Schools. We praise Sir Mota Singh QC for his comments backing the Sikh rights which are safeguarded by British Law. At a sensitive time when Sikhs are trying to push the Office of National Statistics to make a small alteration to the Census to make a provision for the Sikh religion, these articles are damaging to Sikh Rights.

  17. m16 - how is your Guru - Ragi Darshan the profesor doing today? Go and give him 5 rupees lol. You are just causing trouble on this forum when the panth is busy with the ludhiana issue and remembering the shaheed bhai darshan singh and those who have been injured while all people like you want to do is stir trouble. also, bssf really need to clear their stance now?

Sorry, veera what exactly do you want to be cleared up?

In regards to my father. I don't wish to drag him into this debate. Its true that the people who actually shot him have not been caught and there are rumours doing the rounds that the police was involved, but i have no proof on which basis i can make a allegation.

He always did say that people just drag you down whilst never doing anything themselves. How true!

Again, In regards to Sant Ranjit Singh, BSSF fully supports the parchar they are doing, over 250,000 people have taken amrit accoding to their website. I think thats fair enough to support.

We just questioned as to why a person being looked down upon would want aspire to be a amrit dhari sikh if they are to be looking down upon those that are not amritdhari yet.

Why don't you say that Deppa Hayerawala, Sukh & Jinda, Navtej and Harchand dont have the right to speak on panthic issues, they should only give their lives becuase we couldn't!

I've listened to Babbu's entire cd and on a personal level i will say that it was a good effort and deserves to be acknowledged.

Have you ever thought that if Babbu Mann or someone like him ends up doing some extreme seva like killing a dusht i.e. kps Gill or Ram Rahim, then what will you do?

  18. The petition will be forwarded to the Punjab Government, British Foriegn Ministry and EU Human Rights Commission.

The Punjab govt should be made to realise that Bhai Daljit Singh has the support of sikhs abroad and UK/ EU authorities have the political influence to press upon the Indian Govt that Bhai Sahib should be released and also further expose Indian "demonocracy".

  19. bittu-remand-sept-06_2009.jpg

Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu has been falsely accused of taking part in “anti national activities” but the cases put against him are slowly being dropped at court hearings. Bhai Daljit Singh has been conducting Panthic service for the Sikh Nation in a peaceful and Accountable manner for the last few years and has never caused any threat to Public life.

A number of Organisations have declared that they will be releasing posters/stickers of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale including AISSF (Mehta) lead by a Executive member of SGPC, SADA PP & BSSF jointly just recently again released 100,000 stickers of Sant Bhindranwale in Dec 09. Sikh Students Federation have released Posters from time to time, but none of the leaders have been arrested or silenced in this way!

The ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) feels threatened by Bhai Daljit Singh’s growing support amongst Sikhs, espically the youth and these false cases are simply put against Bhai Daljit Singh to defame and silence him. Bhai Daljit Singh has been purposely arrested so that he will be unable to address the Sikh Nation and organise Sikhs to lead a Peaceful Civil Rights and awareness movement.

Bhai Daljit Singh was accused of “encouraging militancy” simply on the grounds of distributing Poster/Stickers.

This is a absurd allegation and Bhai Sahib should be released immediately.
