  3. The King of Kings, supporter of the weak, destroyer of the tyrants, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee is being remembered throughout the world for their unparallel contribution and sacrifice in this world. At the tender age of just 9 years Guru Gobind Singh Ji suggested to his father Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib jee to give themselves up as a sacrifice to defend the right to practice one's chosen faith, on that instance it being the Hindu faith that was under duress. Then the founding of the Khalsa Panth, formalising a people under one united order and initiating the power of guruship to the Panj Piyare and Khalsa Panth.

Followed at Chamkur Sahib, the shahadat of their two elder sons Sahibzade Ajit Singh and Jujhar Singh and then Sahibzade Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh just shortly afterwards. Accolades are given to those that sacrifice just one member of their family, with what words do we describe our debt to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji who sacrificed their father, mother and four children for the freedom of the Sikh Nation and Humanity.

    Ggs3.jpg

Guru Gobind Singh Jee never compromised their ideals and always confronted the oppressor directly and never played second fiddle. Even after receiving the news that both Sahibzada Ajit Singh and Sahibzada Jujhar Singh had attained Shaheedi, Guru Ji drew an arrow and fired it into the oncoming enemy forces with the symbolic message that a Sikh may die physically but his spirit and determination in holding up their beliefs can never be boken.

Furthermore, Guru Sahib founded the world Renowned DamDami Taksal at Sabo Ki Talwandi (now known as Sri Damdama Sahib) which gave birth to many prominent and inspiring personalities such as Baba Deep Singh, Bhai Mani Singh, Baba Gurbaksh Singh and in modern times, Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale and Bhai Amrik Singh who also headed the once powerful All India Sikh Students Federation whilst playing a influential role within the Taksal in the 1980's. All of the above mentioned Singhs of the Taksal gave their lives fighting to defend the ideals of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee of freedom, equality and respect, whilst preaching the word of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee through Kirtan, Katha and Santhiya.

Guru Gobind Singh jee also declared Sri Guru Granth Sahib jee as the only living guru after themselves and finished the practice of Human Guru's within the Sikh Nation at Sri Hazur Sahib.

May Sri Guru Gobind Singh jee bless their Panth with the knowledge and power to confront the enemies of the Guru Shabad and Khalsa Panth.

  4. Over the last few years, Sikhs have been attending various events at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium. However, to many people’s dismay Sikhs that wear a Kirpan are not allowed to enter the EU Parliament Building on the grounds of security and this rule still stands today.

At numerous Lobby events and Human rights Programmes Sikhs have not been allowed inside the building and have been forced to see their MEP’s at a different location. Sikhs have also held “sit in” protests which have attracted some media attention to the issue but this didn’t not lead to any change in policy.

Sikhs are allowed to enter a number high security locations in the UK including Buckingham Palace and the British Parliament. This also includes Sikhs wearing the Kirpan being in close proximity with VIP’s such as the British Prime Minister and the Queen. So on which basis the EU Parliament feels that the Kirpan is of any more risk to them than any other place is still be explained.

This also goes against the beliefs of the Freedom of Religion under the Convention on Human Rights.

Nevertheless, an MEP called Derek Clark from the UK Independence Party who has spoken in support of Sikhs and has said that he sees no reason why Sikhs cannot wear a Kirpan in the EU Parliament if they can in the UK and said that the ban was solely based due to intolerance.

Derek Clark also spoke about the ban on the Turban in France and forcefully condemn it.

It is sad to note that person for a foreign land comes out in support of Sikhs but our own so called “Panthic” leaders in Punjab and India have remained silent and not pressed for this banned to be revoked.

The British Sikh Student Federation would like to thank MEP Derek Clark and the UKIP for taking this stand and speaking out in support of the Sikhs and demanding the implementation of this very basic human right to freely practice your faith.

  5. Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale was given the greatest honourwithin the Sikh Nation, the title of a Shaheed by Sri Akal Thakt Sahib. SantJarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale is known as the greatest Shaheed of the 20thCentury. The Sikh Nation fully respects and supports this decision to bestowsuch an honour upon a most deserving personality.

However some extremist organisations have been trying to force Sikhs towithdraw any displays of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa. These organisations haveaccused Bhai Sandeep Singh Canadian All India General Secretary SAD PanchPardhani and Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema Secretary General SAD Panch Pardhani oftrying to cause unrest in Punjab whilst theseHindu Extremist Organisations have themselves been trying to create Hindu/Sikh clashesover the last few years.

Shiv Sena has caused carnage and terror in Maharashtra and is trying todo the same in Punjab however, they must realised that there is an entire worldof difference between Maharashtra and Punjab and they attempts will provefutile.

We respect all faiths and we don't interfere in any faith and also atthe same time no one has the right to tell Sikhs who their "Idols" and Heroesshould be or whose posters they can display in their houses and who's Stickerscan be put up in their cars. This is a matter that only Sikhs have the right todiscuss and decide upon. If we feel the need, we will withdraw anyPosters/Stickers upon our own choosing.

At this moment we would like to thank the whole of Punjab for supportingthe free distribution of these posters/stickers which have been given out acrossthe state of Punjab.

The Posters/Stickershave be distributed across Punjab under the leadership of -

Bhai Sandeep Singh –Mohali, Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema – Fatehgarh Sahib,

Bhai Paramjit SinghGazi (Sikh Student Federation) – Patiala

    Bhai Surinder SinghKishanpura – Ropar

    Bhai Baljinder SinghRaju – Amritsar

Bhai Kulbir SinghBarapind – Nawasharar and many more

We would also like to thank Dal Khalsa, Akhand Kirtani Jatha,Khalsa Action Committee, Damdami Taksal, British Sikh Student Federation andSikh Students Federation (All Factions) for leaning their full support to thisprogramme called by Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Panch Pardhani).

  7. yes, but people still need to be careful of which organisations they support if they dont have confidence in the shady stances these groups have taken in the past. babboo maan stance was just...well...stupid! all i'm saying is it might be good what they doing, but i for one will think twice before i get my confidence back in them and others should as well. i really did support them before when and after they formed and really hoped they would not be the typical one sided biased organisation. i mean where is their statement now for this ashutosh stuff? where is support for people like sant ranjit singh ji now who have made the world aware of this cult and almost got killed doing it? where is the statement of thanks now? this is where i get doubts in such groups. they should apologise for their last statement and withdraw it or something then make a new one in light of these recent events, thats only way really at the moment.

Everyone should still support the posters like nirvair s khalsa has said above!

After senior members of the British Sikh Student Federation revealed that in a telephonic conversations with members of Panthic Organisations including Bhai Sandeep Singh Ji Canadian of Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar Panch Pardhani it was revealed that a number of Singhs have attained Shaheedi. There are a number of different unconfirmed reports regarding the Shahadat of Sikhs who were rightly protesting against the Fake “Guru” Ashutosh.

Some reports have come in stating that up to seven Sikh youth have been killed. The Punjab Government has once again shown how it will go to any extent to hurt the feelings of Sikhs and protect anti-Sikh forces that operate in Punjab to weaken the roots of Sikhi by attacking our very foundations such as Shabad Guru, Amrit Sanchar and Rehit Maryada which was given to us by our Gurus and Shaheeds after suffering much loss and pain.

The Federation would like to point out that this is the same, Akali-BJP government under which in 1978, 13 Sikhs were killed by Police and Narankari Followers who physically disrespected Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in Amritsar on Vaisakhi Day!

The SGPC and Akal Thakt Sahib had asked the Punjab Government to ban the event of the Fake “Guru” but they were nothing more than token requests. The government is under the pressure of RSS controlled and operated BJP which has no space for the sentiments of Sikhs and in fact pleasures itself upon seeing Sikhs in anguish and distress.

District magistrate Vikas Garg, has imposed a curfew in Ludhiana, according to media reports in Police divisions 1, 2, 3, 4.

Meanwhile, Sikhs have today declared a total Bandh in Ludhiana for tomorrow to protest of the Government protection and promotion of anti-Sikh Deras.

  8. BSSF need to prove themselves yet, they are too new and made mistakes already which loads people have been talking about. I think Gagandeep is main person, may have good intentions, but they need to be careful in everything they do, Dont want to put anyone down, but mistakes have to be pointed out as well, one minute they may be doing something good now collecting funds for posters, but tomorrow they make make mistakes like the past and speak in issues there is no need to. I still support them if they do good like BOSS (who have never spoken without reason in issues and carried on with Sewa like Sikhi camp etc). So carry on the good work bssf, i will consider donating for this cause and hopefully you guys will start to put some confidence back in people by doing good.

We are pleased to know that there are people like yourself who have taken their time out to identify any points in which you feel BSSF is not operating in a way that you would expect. If you feel uncomfortable then please do personal message us in regards to which "mistakes" you are referring to and this will be looked into seriously.

As we have stated on a number of occasions before, we don't not intend to confront or compete with any panthic organisation.

As for sewadars of BOSS, some senior members have openly said to us that they do not wish to "engage" with the media. They don't participate in conventions and other Political events. However, they have a excellent record in sewa from a more spiritual perspective i.e. Camps. Something which we fully support and are open to assistances.

The British Sikh Student Federation is different in the sense that we are more politically outspoken and not everyone will agree with what we have to say, however we dont intend to cause controversy but to simply put forward our view point on certain issues.

BSSF takes a more international approach to its area of sewa and in doing so, we don't clash with BOSS but in fact this allows for us to work together in achieving any and all Panthic Aims.

    I hope this helps,

    Harninder Singh

  9. BSSF & SIKH STUDENTS FEDERATION CHALLENGE SHIV SENA BANDH CALL ON 17TH

The British Sikh Student Federation would like to announce that it is fully engaged in getting 100,000 Posters of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale produced for the Punjab Bandh called given by Hindu Extremist outfit, Shiv Sena on the 14th December 2009.

Shiv Sena claims that will be calling a Bandh for the whole of Punjab and will attempt to remove all posters and portraits of Sant Bhindranwale but the Sikh Youth of Punjab are adamant that this will be not allowed to happen and the Sikh Sangat abroad are requested to support the Panth at this dark time.

This all happened just shortly after the Ludhiana violence of Saturday 5th December and now again the Sikh Nation is being challenged.

Members of the Federation have been in discussion with Sikh Students Federation (Gazi) and SADA PP (Bhai Sandeep Singh Canadian) and have confirmed that the posters will be distributed amongst the people of Punjab in protest of the challenge given by Shiv Sena.

This programme is being held in relation to the violence in Ludhiana, Punjab which occurred after Sikhs were peacefully protesting against the programme of Ashutosh, a fake “guru” who is promoting his anti sikh views and activites amongst the innocent people of Punjab, be it Hindu’s and Sikhs alike.

The administration was given plenty of notice but all paid no heed. The programme was allowed to go ahead and the police fired DIRECTLY at the Sikh protesters and one sikh, Bhai Darshan Singh Lohara was shot dead and attained Shaheedi as well as dozens injured.

WE MUST UNITE AT THE GURDWARA SAHIB TO SHOW OUR SUPPORT TO OUR FELLOW SIKHS IN PUNJAB AND DECLARE A FUTURE COURSE OF ACTION WHICH WILL BE FOLLOWED UNTIL THESE FAKE GURUS ARE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE.

It is important to note that this incident is being turned into a Hindu Vs Sikh Issue and this is totally incorrect.

  12. Yeah agree with inder singh, dunno about india but uk gold-medal wale, southall dal khalsa of manmohan singh only good for issuing statements and eating samose, while doing nindhia of Guru Gobind Singh ji's Dasam Granth, even though they 'oppose' RSS but dont understand they are supporting them by opposing Sri Dasam Granth Sahib, lol.

No more courting of these snakes in the lap of panth.Time is coming to expose them in public.

By the way who is kashmir singh? is he associated with BSSF?

Sorry, i dont know of any Kashmir Singh.

  13. If we could possibly be in much contact with our MPs in regards to many issues, but again they need to be finally channeled through a voice rather than MPs tending to say we get mix signals from the Sikh community. If an active org took on an issue which naujawans could get together to compile a report (i.e. Racist attacks from wider community) or a report to Scotland Yard in re: Other community orgs targetting Sikh women and vunerable males as a mission, this could be done through surviellence and again compiled as report to be presented. Assisting Sikh VCOs (Voluntary community orgs) to shape and assit them in funding to get our youth of Streets/Gangs (i.e instead of the Ideas of others orgs how to tackle gang violence we can shape our own youth)Bringing the issue of Sikhs in Pakistan being targetted to MPs doors...

These are just the top off my head...

I have no belief in credentials of Dal khalsa. That is my assessment about them on core sikh issues. Keep them out.

I would just like to reiterate the need to stop attacking our own people and work for the common good. Bhai Kanwarpal Singh Bittu of Dal Khalsa International has been at Ludhiana since yesterday and Dal Khalsa Has taken a pro-active role in many aspects. Jathedar Bhai Gajinder Singh has been underground for over 27YEARS!

BSSF members have been in constant contact with Members of Sikh Student Federation (Gazi) Dal Khalsa (India) and SADA PP (Bhai Sandeep Singh Canadian) and has been pressing on all UK based organisations to to come together and take some practical steps too support Sikhs in Punjab.

  14. We fully agree with what you have to say and BSSF is currently in discussion with a number of Organisations about having something similar to what your are suggesting.

There is said to be a meeting tomorrow at Smethwick and all Organisations are expected to attend.

What is most vital is that we work together, even if we do so as separate organisations as well as stop the slander of each other as at this fragile time, Unity is of the greatest importance.

    Gagandip Singh

    BSSF

  15. PLEASE, Lets stop arguing over nothing. We need to get together.

Forget organisations, Damdami Taksal Singhs are injured, Missionary Singhs are Injured, Amritdahri's are injured, Clean shaves are injured, women are injured, we are being attacked as a nation and we need to defend ourselves as a nation.

We will be talking to senior members of Sikh Federation UK, Dal Khalsa UK, Sikh Students Federation, BOSS, Sikh Council UK, UK Gurdwaras and others to form a flatform to donate money to shaheed parivars in this current morcha.

It is vital that this is done in a open and transparent manner, but it has to be done and information will be released soon. All donations will be made available online for viewing.
