Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!! A new management committee (sevadaars) were chosen by the Guru's Sangat on Sunday 21st April 2013. Our agenda is to take Guru Nanak Gurdwara Smethwick back to its former glory and promote Guru Nanak's message as much we can. We now have approx 8 halls at the Gurdwara, with many other rooms, including a lecture theatre and many other facilities... ...BUT whats the point of having them when they are empty most of the time? Our agenda is to fill those halls, which will only happen when parchaar is done and Sangat which are sat at home or broken away from Gurdwaras come forward and participate in the Gurdwara. Sometimes we have illitrates running the Gurdwara's who sometimes dont even know what day it is. We want the younger generation to come forward and participate in running and mananging the Gurdwara. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the Sadh Sangat has entrusted us with the seva, we would like to ask our local youngsters to come to the Gurdwara and bring forward new/fresh ideas in how we can make the Gurdwara a better place. Sometimes there are accountants, solicitors, barristers, architects, te What the Sangat wants the Sangat gets! Whether its complaints or suggestions please come forward. Participate in Gurdwara seva, see who does what, how is the Gurdwara run, get involved! A breakdown of the Gurdwara finances will be available online for you to view what income and what expenditure has been made at the Gurdwara Sahib to show total tranparency in the Gurdwara accounts. We will use all means possible eg. social media and other sources to promote programmes and events that will be held at GNG Smethwick keep up to date and put your suggestions forward! Sri Akhand Path Sahib in memory of the Soorbeer Shaheeds of the Sikh Qaum and Chardi Kala of the Panth Khalsa was Aaramb today at 5am in the DOWNSTAIRS main hall, of which the Bhog will be at 5am Amrit Vela on the 6th June 2009. This will be followed by a Shaheedi Samagam beginning at 5.30pm till 9.00pm on the 6th June 2009 in the downstairs main hall.
