Anyone have more information or know any Sikh historical granth that does?

Most Sikhiwiki articles would mention a source for their articles. This article does not show any source!

Also, I’ve been lucky enough to listen to 10th Patshai''s history, from numerous sources. I have never heard this account from anyone. I have never read any of this in any books either.

The fact that the article doesn’t quote a source, makes me question the authenticity of this article.

The only adopted son by Mata Sundar Kaur Ji, is of Ajit Singh. Alit Singh resembled Sahibzada Ajit Singh. When Mata Sundar Kaur Ji came to know of all four Sahibzade's Shahadat. She wanted to adopt this Ajit Singh to remind her of Sahibzada Ajit Singh.

Despite Guru Ji's advise against the adoption, Mata Ji still went ahead. And took him to Delhi, while Guru Ji left for Nanded.

This account can be found in Sri Gurprtap Suraj Granth. Written by Choodamani Kavi Santokh Singh.

By the way, Choodamani means...the most precious jewel in the Crown...

  2. Just one point to note here. Just as European scholars used Latin, instead of the modern languages of the time.

In the same way, Indian scholars used Sanskrit, or Sant Bhasha ( language of the saints ).

The ithihaas would’ve been passed down verbally. The scholar historians would’ve written it in poetic style...

  3. The Maryada of all the traditional Puratan Sampradiye is as follows:

    In the Morning:

    Japji Sahib

    Jaap Sahib

    Suaye

Full 40 pauris of Anand Sahib.

    in the evening:

    Sri Rehras Saib

    Sri Sohila Sahib.

This is the bare minimum. Any other amount of Bani can be read. Mool Mantar and Waheguru Mantar are also a daily requirement. But as far as Nitnem Bani is stated, then the above is the absolute minimum.

This tradition has been passed down from Gursikh to Gursikh, ever since the time of Guru Ji. The traditional Sampradaiye Sikhs have not made any changes...

  4. In Khalsa Dharam Shaster Granth, it is written that Guru Gobind Singh said the following:

If a Gursikh deviates from Rehat, and passes away. The Gursikh will be sent again to a Gurmukh family.

This will happen to a maximum of 100 Janams.

The downside of deviating from rehat is that, the next Janam maybe of someone with a severe health problem. In such a case, that person would be denied the ability to deviate.

The process will continue for 100 Janams, until finally, the Gurmukh begs for Mukti, owing to his miserable existence.

Let’s aim for Mukti in this Janam.

Sant Isher Singh Rara Sahib used to say: the material pleasures are akin to a sesame seed. But the pain and misery that comes hand in hand, with this temporary sukh, it akin to a mountain.

9th Patshahi says: meditate on Waheguru as if your life depends on it. With complete and utter focus. Just as a fish never loses the desire for water...
